Spoke the genius who brought up intel factions by coming into the thread to brag about his Nomad blaster LSF eagle, and start whining the moment he was told that:
So again, I don't see why intel factions shouldn't get the same treatment that Wild do get from Order, Hackers, Hessians, Gaians and whoever else you can think of.
Here's what sticks in my craw;
I'm not buying the whole "no general knowledge of Nomads" thing.
Wilde, maybe. But not Noms.
Outcasts, who are quite aware of Noms, travel all of Sirius and are not known for being tight-lipped, per se.
Others have traveled into O-80 and elsewhere, and have returned.
Junkers and Zoners have had contact with them, and also travel everywhere, why would they not talk about meeting an alien race face to face?
Is Edison Trent known throughout Sirius?
In a galaxy where I can call from Omega 47 to Omicron Alpha in real time, how has word not spread?
I can see Wilde, being 'agents provocateurs', i.e. spies, being relative unknowns, but if you're RPing a Wilde, don't mount Nommy items on your ship!!! That's just stupid tactics.
Scanners, anyone?
Bueller.....
I could write romans about this topic, but I won't, because people are silly. I'm happy with how it was the last years. In the end it's the player's choice to either (role)play along or pew on sight. No matter what, it was always like that and always will be. Though, one thing for sure; the encounters without any pew tend to be more enjoyable (for both sides). On a sidenote; if I seek roleplay encounters I stick with untagged and pure human tech, which works well and doesn't make much of a difference PvP wise anyways.

So basically work around ID restrictions to create an artificial terrorist ID.
Somehow seems like a bad idea.
You want to shoot and be the "terrorist" type of infectee? You slap on the corresponding ID - that is, the Wild ID.
You want to infiltrate, be sneaky and act largely as any other faction member would to maintain your cover? You slap on the corresponding faction ID as well.
An infected LSF agent wouldn't engage random Libertonians anyways, as they'd instantly comm up their leadership and blow the infectee's cover.
Can someone remind me exactly what the problem is here?
Of course there are always tell-tale signs that inRP are noticeable, such as alien tech. However, the Wild (i'm going to use that to generalise iseijin, D9 and Wilde) may speak slightly funny but that's not an immediate reason to suspect them. I don't like how people see red and think "kill" when it comes to nomads and wild. Curiosity should be the first thing on a characters mind rather than danger as it's been proven that Wild and nomads don't automatically engage you when they see you. In fact, some wish to preserve their secrecy and make themselves blend in as much as possible. They do still have a personality after all.
ID's aren't an inRP item. They were for a short time and this made things a lot worse as people could use it to assume the purpose of anyone they met and that was just boring, linear gameplay that is a waste of a game that has such diverse lore and RP opportunities. These after all are only limited by your imagination.
But, alas...you can't do much about it. You can't sanction someone for it and so you have to live with in hope that you'll cross people that are willing to RP the fact that they'd at best, have vague clue that you're not quite normal but don't have enough knowledge (apart from factions like the LSF that research them etc.) to make such a quick judgment.
Anyways. I agree with Treewyrm pretty much. I don't fly my wild ships expecting people to RP that they don't know what I am. It's a nice surprise when they do, but I don't get angry if it doesn't happen.
