Dont nerf missiles - they are great equalizer while not replacing skill entirely. A PvP pro dodging more than efficiently a 6 not so skilled players is a situation where missiles come in handy. Make them slightly more hyperlethal on expense of lower missile count - making it more limited and tactical decision to when apply said advantage.
I would also suggest making missile-only slot on all HF/VHF's that will not make ship loadouts assymetrical. Ironically, not only missiles increase my damage output and usefulness in battle by lot - one less guns helps me offset poorer energy management with more powerful weapons... now that is something that was not taken into account during balance. You could say I could switch 1-2 guns off when needed but who does that?

Yes. And they will. The problem right now however is that they're going to be dying to their missiles alone - and the missiles will be by far the largest damage dealer (not by a small margin - they're likely to be doing 80-90% of total DPS of those 6 players) while only using six slots out of the ~30-36 extra gun slots available to those players.
In other words, 1/6th of the weapons are doing 6/1th the damage. That indicates these weapons are improperly damaged.
I know these are random statistics, but you'll find that in actual fights they're quite accurate. Try it sometime.
That after the enemy 6 players are missiled to death, the missiles are out of ammo, hardly matters. If there's one last player remaining, it's not like you need that one gun on your six remaining ships to kill them.
IMO, the correct way to go about rebalancing snub combat is to find a means to make aiming guns take less than a thousand hours of conn practice, while making missiles far less potent. The skill curve is a bit steep right now for effective gun use. I'd like to see the game easier to learn, and just as hard to master. However, I don't like largely skill-free or easy-to-master weapons being by far the largest factor in fights.

Being bad with guns, I can still claim that missiles are ruining the fun for more people than they grant fun.
And to those who are defending how missiles are OK, I challenge you to participate in group fight where your foes use missiles and you don't. Only then will you understand the extent of missile damage to interactons.

Enemy fighter: AU8, all guns.
Me: AU8, guns + sidewinder.
Fight 1: Close combat, missile is useless as other fighter is just flying around me, close, and I can't get a lock on. I get killed in the process.
Fight 2: Test of damage 1K-away onto ummoving target, fired 6 sidewinders. 2 were used onto shield (1 full, 1 regen, 4 were used to kill the hull.
Fight 3: Test of damage 1K-away onto no-firing jinking around target, fired 18 sidewinders, 3 went for shield (1 full, two regens), 4 were used to kill the hull, rest didn't connect.
Yet you want to nerf that because you say even a noob can use them for that advantage (did I really had advantage here?)

If you read my comment, I admited how bad I am using guns. I am not ashamed that I suck hard using them.
You however, barge in here, give totally useless argument based on Conn experience, try to change topic toward Gunboats missiles and then you are claiming that I use false proof. I have not presented any proof. I told you to try and fight IN a GROUPFIGHT where YOU do NOT use missiles, but your opponents do. Then you will understand how harsh missile spam is and how quickly it puts down enemy and puts off his wish to fight again.
