.................
Read the IDs.
Coalition ID
S.C.R.A ID.
Indie's can't cruiser spam.
Only the official faction can.
It's a smart idea the Order should have tried along time ago, no?

Well, ever since discovery turned into the no child left behind act and we started catering to everyone equally, trying our damndest to be absolutely 100% politically correct, I'm surprised any faction still has privileges that the indies dont =P

They already exist, take an unlawful cruiser somewhere and there is a 100% chance of you getting a fight. Even if you aren't the one starting it, it wouldn't make a difference.
It's more to do with people having special privileges wanting to keep some while appearing like they're opening things up.

Just a small correction. Otherwise you are right- Corsair cruiser can get a lot more PvP love then Coalition one- you got too many neutrals/friendly as Coalition and you cannot tax(force to PvP) everything that flies in your range- as indie wannabe Terrorist Corsair Cruiser is a way more logical.
On topic- I absolutely love the idea of double ID factions- one for Indies one for officials- it gives the indies any reason to join the official faction. This idea is pure win- it is sad that it is not implemented in all factions.
I also like the idea of heavy tech nerfs for civilian stuff- it fits Coalition RP as far as I know.

I don't exactly, that just gives more power to the official ones, and SCRA is kinda hard to join (especially for me, I suck at RP:P), but the wasupu doesn't get much technerf, only 90%, and given the ship, it's completely worth it:laugh:

Indeed power in 10 years old shooter game? What kind of power? Leading faction in discovery is pain and time consuming- the responsibilities are huge and the faction rights are really limited.
Indies that are excluded from the faction environment are also excluded from the group events.
Being excluded from this bigger interactions they are not active much on their ships, as result the general activity in the server drops. With the general activity dropping and the devs adding more useless empty systems/Gallia the server in general is less fun.
Too many systems- under 120-30 people it is even not worth to log because you could spend 30 min on interacting with the NPCs before you meet some other player with some luck.
Double ID system allows indies at first place to be part of the NPC Faction but motivate them to join the Official Faction as well- so it is win/win situation for all involved.

As I always say, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
Yes, you can technically go make a Coalition Kalashnikov Werewolf, but that doesn't mean you should.
Likewise, while the Coalition can technically go and get a ton of new Osirises, Jormugands and Scyllas, it doesn't mean we will.
I'm of the idea that the Coalition should be as pure-tech as possible. It's not always possible of course, but when it is possible and there is a Coalition alternative, use it.
It simply doesn't make much sense for the Coalition to field Sirian ships when we have our own, perfectly capable shipline. It certainly doesn't make much sense to use foreign ships while preaching Coalition ideologies. The Coalition is a proud faction, much like the Corsairs and like them, we're proud of our ships. Well, maybe In-RP anyway. I know the Corsairs like to complain sometimes.
It would make sense for a defector to use the ship which he defected in. He used to using it and it saves the Coalition resources. Though I'd find it odd to see a fighter jock who was born in 52 in something other than Coalition kit.
Sirian ships? lulz. Coalition ships are Sirian. lulz.
Anyways, if you like bombers and you ain't flying the Coalitions bomber. You. Are. Insane. It is win.
