An'shur, if you don't have anything constructive to write here please refrain from posting in this thread. We don't want to hear what you "remember" here...
1. This faction made awesome simple pewpew deal with their closest enemy, that will surely make both sides happy and active. *bows* I will check how it works in practise and will be happy to recommend it to other factions too, with more details later.
2. I lack GRN| leadership, trainings, battle instructions and organisation when flying my indie on Gallic side. Officials should take more care about their indie player base, imho. Too many indies simply go to the battle one by one every time (bravely, but not organised) and never reach deserved level of fun. Is there any General Emergency chat?
3. Magellan raids. Are they over? FL players invested in more than hundred Libbie dreads, that are rusting somewhere now when war with RM is kaput.
1. I'm somewhat skeptical about that whole thing myself, but I hope it works out as well.
2. I have no idea. The GRN indies set up their own Skype general chat by themselves, I know that much - I don't know if there's an emergency one to go along with it. As for you lacking 'leadership, instructions' etc. - all I can suggest there is that you're attending the wrong raids. I go out of my way to co-ordinate with indies when I see them around in raids at least as much as I do with my own faction members. I don't distinguish much between officials and indies once a battle breaks out and things go off in group chat. I'm not sure how it is when I'm not personally around, though.
3. Magellan stopped being a thing after numerous occasions where we 'raided' the place only to sit around for upwards of an hour waiting for any response. Others within GRN| can corroborate on this. Eventually, we stopped trying, since there's only so much staring at Freeport 4 that one can take. If there's any indication that an actual response would come when we went to Magellan, then we'd do it again. Unfortunately, it's been a damp squib for months now, and people have stopped trying.

From that skype channel I can't make any difference between good and wrong raids. And there's only one General Gallic chat, afaik. I never saw GRN| rising forces there, or giving any pre-battle instructions or tips. No announcements, trainings, not even jokes. I can see Carter, Cashew and your name is there too, on the list. Maybe more GRN| officials are there that I do not know. But, you can't do everything personally! There are officers in charge for indies in some other factions I know, so I humbly suggest you name one or even two. Named officers could rise forces in Emergency channel too, in case GRN makes one. Indies could do it too, but not at same level as experienced players would.

Maybe no one poked them on Libbie and Bret Emergency.
I think two words on two skype channels would solve 2. and 3. completely. Like: raid, log! Ofc, it's totally up to GRN leader.
First of all, I usually enjoy fighting you. RP between us is usually done quick, but thats fine - we're at war after all.
I too have no problem with being shot down. I suck at PvP, and thats known to me.
After that's been cleared up, I'll cut to the point.
One of my chaps were fighting GRN|Ferdinand.Mounier. We actually did better than we thought we did, draining his regens to zero and almost shooting him down, chasing him to Tau-31 (starting in Leeds) and then back to Leeds. Til here everything was fine.
Problem is - he docked right in front of the eyes of my chap, as seen here, and then reengaged, as stated by the blue after that. This could actually have been a mistake - him believing that he was safe to dock, but even if this was a mistake, it was neither nice nor fair.
I don't want to start a fight here, neither do I want to throw accusations, but that is the third time now this particular player has... Overlooked some rules to get a blue on us. I didn't report them or post here because I didn't want to appear s*lty (Why is this considered an insult o.o) and understand how hard it is to lead a faction, but this feedback now had to be done.
Yeah, while I don't care for what most people complain about, I understand where you're coming from. As I understand it, he jumps into another system and tries to insta dock. I can understand why this is something you'd give feedback about.
I don't accept people abusing rules or mechanics. I'll talk to the player and hopefully it won't happen again. If it does, make sure to get better screens and I'll deal with it. Hope that works for you.
Just to say that the BAF| are sorry for those re-engaging indies or whatever third faction they were, in Leeds, we couldn't control them. Apparently they didn't understand English. You managed to kill them again and again though, hats off for your skill.
BAF|HMS-Isaac.Brock (that dessy that behaved like a Dunkirk. I was even pressing the button for flaks when a bomber would get near. Turret steering is the hardest thing though. My first time with a cruiser, I hope it wasn't too bad)
Okay, I have a complaint of how one/a few selected (?) GRN| players log to interact with IMG indies.
The GRN| in question yesterday logs off his JM| after IMG| comes to the system. He then announces on TS that he will continue his harrassment of the indie group with his GRN|. He logs it. I told him to explain the stuff to the indies. I don't know how this one ended. Likely in a few blued indies.
Today, he logs his GRN| again. Aim: screw over IMG indies.
What does he do?
He flies a GB to the Niobium field and demands them to move the Niobium to Gallia.
That's in accordance with the laws. That makes sense irp... for a seasoned, experienced player.
However: Indies most often have no clue. And I told this player repeatedly that he needs to educate them, point them to the thread, give background. Flying out, taxing transports 10 million for not having a permit that they do not know of, without giving them a link, and blowing them up if they do not understand it is not a cool way of playing the game. Let's not even talk about the first time GRN| decided to enforce that law (after no announcement at all) and would have shot IMG| down if I had not deescalated and logged everybody off.
Furthermore, there is no selling point for Niobium that IMGs can dock at. It's a GMS base. IMG ID is rephacked no-docking. So, how to do that: "transport it to Gallia"? With indies? Not even I would follow you there and I know all the laws and stuff.
Back to the situation: The indies in question rp back, rather nicely. Their transport wants to go back to Java for food and water for the long flight. That's good rp. What does the GB do: gun it down. The player comments it with the words: "they would have logged off! They fled!", on TS.
Gunning down the transport triggers the full scale of madness. The indies log Battlecruiser and shoot at the GB (not unlikely reengaging in the process). They are furious about the treatment. Understandably so.
The GRN| then docks at Java (= IMG base) under IMG fire, in plain view of me (I was on IMG|, trying to educate and calm the situation, but it was beyond hope), chased by angry indie IMGs who shot him down to like 1/10th hull.
So... summary:
Neutral indie IMGs are taxed/shot by a white GRN| for wanting to fly a transport back to Java. Most of them do not even understand what this is about. The demand "go to Gallia" is not fulfillable, as there is no dockable selling point for Niobium. After blue-ing an IMG, and after triggering an "all out revenge" response, the GRN| docks on Java (IMG station) while under fire by IMGs in plain view of my IMG|, which is a 1.3.
What do I do with this?
Because this is messed up beyond salvation.
> I suggest you make regular announcements about this law and how you intend to enforce it. On forums and ingame.
> I suggest you find a way to somehow solve the Niobium selling point because making a demand that cannot be fulfilled is a sanctionable offense.
> I ask you to explain to indies what this is all about. They do not know about the war, about surrender, occupation. It's us - as officials - who have to tell them before we assume they know and apply the knowledge.
I will ignore this incident because I do not feel like going through the whole mess and waste even more time.
I just hope that this somehow ends.
But that's entirely in your hands.
If you want to do your "harrass IMGs roleplay", tell them to mine Berryl that has a good selling point. And explain it to them. Irply and best also oorply. All these guys that fly tagged there are literate, they are not your standard lolwut that can be abused at will.
But if you treat them the way they were treated in these two examples, you push them into behaving like lolwuts. And I do not want this to happen -again-. One player left Disco because of the harrassment, I was told today when I chatted to them after the incident. They did not know what dsace.log is, and generally were in the first stages of Disco-ing.
Screwing this most vulnerable group of inexperienced, but motivated players over, as an ultra-experienced player, over a well-hidden, barely known forum law on purpose is just plainly wrong.
Logs and screens can be given via Skype on demand.
