I'lll always prefer dynamic economics, but indeed, the thing will be a coding nightmare. The market is a quite comlicated mechanism - not only supply and demand, but also cwap like tax, inflation, production powers...

If we'd want it roughly realistic, we'd need a completely new server-sied programme which would calculate new prices based upon a load of variables. Bit like the faction diplomacy list - how much buying/selling one goodie affects the price of another. Time is also a factor - If the changes would be applied between server crashes/restarts, the programme should also consider for how long a goodie wasn't in circulation.

Random events - that would be simplest.
