It may be a game, but in the case of an RP enviroment and RP focused community, we need to set some sort of standards of what can and can not be allowed- what does and what does not make sense.
By being an RP community, we have long abandoned the notion of being able to either explain something stupid being done as "It is only a game."

I wonder, if by what you have said you are implying that the junker congress should play for others and not for themselves?
If a congress members likes to spend much of their time in the guard system because they want to, should they stop spending time in their guard system because others don't want them to?
With all due respect the only problem I see here is that people who complain are the people who do not respect other players playing style.
IMO a player should play the game according to the way he likes to play WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE RULES OF THE SERVER and subjectively with the RP that he/she can.
You know what? You can say what you want about the congress but honestly JT leads a group of guys that are really easy to talk to and fun. Chill and kind and not complete douche bags. Its a big kudos to them as you cant find much of that in the community besides some other factions.
The point is: they are great people and they show that through their attitude. Kudos to all of you.

While it is possible this is universally true on earth (I don't know) I wonder if it is in the laws of Liberty as stated on these forums or any documents provided elsewhere. Why is this even an argument? ITS A FREAKING GAME CHILDREN!
It would be classified under Section One, Subsections III (Assault - unlawful use of weapons) and V (Obstructing the Course of Justice - specifically from attempting use the threat of violence as leverage to interrupt court proceedings).
Just because "its [sic] a freaking game" does not mean the game cannot be played seriously, and since this is a role-playing server, the forums are just as valid a game environment as the actual server. I would strongly suggest that you don't call strangers on the internet children, given that you have little to no verifiable data concerning their age, and you also demonstrate a certain degree of immaturity by attempting to use your age as leverage.
Discovery may well be "Just a game", and the Junker Congress PLAYERS might well be cool and decent folks and all that, and that is fine.
However, bringing guns into a courtroom inRP, threatening violence in a Courtroom inRP, and aggressive posturing in a courtroom inRP, will be responded to in kind, inRP. The Junker Congress might be a deeply connected pseudo-criminal organization, but a government courtroom is still a government courtroom, protected by Libertonian Law Enforcement, and it's pretty damn safe to say they'll respond in kind.
Nobody who gives a damn about 'authentic roleplay' should expect any less.
Unfavorable outcomes to ones actions are not the same thing as "Bad RP", and expecting to just get away with pulling something heinous and outright criminal in a courtroom is pretty misguided, if you take roleplaying and in character diplomacy even remotely seriously.
OH AND ADDITIONALLY: The Courtroom should not be expected to be the only avenue of communication between the Libertonian Government, her agents and representatives, and the Junker Congress.
They were the ones who demanded a trial, after all.

Seems to me that we are guilty without a chance to be proven innocent.
Where was our trial?
Have we even received a formal hearing overseen by the Government of Liberty?
If so, where was our representation?
Shouldn't some form of evidence be brought forth to show just cause?
There are two sides to every story, unfortunately ours wasn't even heard.
We request the opportunity to declare our innocence despite being convicted without trial or representation.
The opportunity to refute and/or debate charges and evidence against us.
And this is what is deemed "Liberty".
[sic] really? an English teacher are you? That is a petty attempt to insult someone. Attempting to use my age? I take it you feel you lack a certain amount of chronological maturity yourself or this would not have affected you the way it did. Children was used as an adjective expressing the immaturity of persons involved in a prolonged argument which can not be won by either side in this arena. Thanks for the references to which parts of Liberty's laws might deal with this incident.

All in all Enjoy the game for what it is.
Curious that you would re-quote an older post. You're suggesting that the Congress' play-style is being criticised, and that all individuals have the right to play the game as they like (within the permitted framework). Naturally, there is nothing wrong with that whatsoever.
However, my entire body of criticism has nothing to do with any individual or group's overall attitude towards the game. It is related to a specific series of incidents and the actions taken by Congress players. Whenever anyone plays in Liberty space, they must recognise that taking actions which are disagreeable to the LibGov will result in repercussions including but not limited to those enacted by the Forces of Liberty.
Threatening a court of law with guns is not a "play style" choice. It's an in-character action with serious repercussions that the Congress players have brought upon themselves.
So who leads the Junkers now? Because I haven't seen this level of crazy powergamey play since those ZonerZonerZoners tried to blow up all of the Corsair leaders in a trial with a hidden bomb or some stuff.
This is pretty disappointing to see come from an official, and old, faction.
