Please tell me more how this is not (ex)Congress member giving a blind eye on other Congress members.
"We can provide you with a secret and secured travel arrangement for you to leave Gallia." and suddenly GRP assumes it's about JumpDrives. Why have you not assumed it's abroad some Liner of Congress?
It is assumed to be jump drives because it is "secret and secured." There is no other way that the Congress would make it into Gallic space under those conditions. The UC and GRN alone pose such great threats that the Congress would be stopped before they got two systems into Gallia had they traveled normally. Since those are the only ways in, simple deductive reasoning brings us to the conclusion that a jump will be made. Also, had they suggested that they make the trip normally, my character would have refused and demanded that the trip be made with a jump, knowing that the previously mentioned groups would come after the congress and her. She isn't willing to take that great of a risk for profit.
If you want to get roleplay about it, Congress wouldn't be jumping into Gallia in the first place. That's the sort of thing that doesn't go unnoticed - unless, of course, you need to justify access to a 15k sell point.
You can keep trying to pass this off as roleplay, sure, but it's abundantly obvious that you're just scratching backs for your buddies.
I'm really not sure how else to say it - but then again, I wouldn't expect you to even be capable of seeing it my way. I suppose it must be a lot easier to put your hands over your ears and throw mealy-mouthed little words at the problem until it goes away - that is, after all, the Congress method of doing things, is it not?
I almost spilled blood when i saw that little thread. It's more hilarious than sad to be quite honest, not to mention very dodgy, ooRP, and obvious. If this is the main reason -why- you wanna play GRP, give up. That's something you just don't do just to give your Congress buddies a hand just because they are money hungry. Simple as that.

sure sounds like what you are doing now.

Right now, GRP is oorp broke. We don't have the tracker paid for yet, our cruiser is unarmored, etc... The congress is willing to get us out of that situation. If you want to hand over the money instead, go right ahead.

I'd argue that the jump would be less noticeable, as it doesn't register on the lane network or anywhere else inrp. Also, if I remember correctly, the sell point is not GRP owned and instead belongs to a corporation, so regardless of our rep, they won't be able to sell.

Do you even listen to yourself? You are literally proving my point every time you put words on the page.

You recall incorrectly. The sell point is a GRN base, so you can be sure as hell that they won't be selling any time soon.
Then again, you people are both smart enough and cynical enough to transfer the cargo on GRP ships instead.
Omi, I'm not going to deny that the GRP is benefiting from this. The reason we are doing it is so that we won't be broke. Rp is allowed to benefit groups and it has in the past for just about everyone. What I am proposing is a bribe to look the other way and not shoot them on sight. If they are caught being unlawful or we are being watched, we will still act. This agreement will not mean that the grp and congress are going to be allies like you are accusing me of attempting to do.
[sarcasm] Oh no someone is trying to create activity in the most empty house in disco.
What a horrible thing.
So instead of encouraging or providing constructive criticism let's bash their RP just because they chose to RP with the Congress.
A police faction with covert ties to a quasi lawful faction? Of course that never occurs. Why would a police faction want to develop ties with a potentially valuable source of information.
It's not like other Police factions maintain cordial relations with the Junkers. Why would they? Why embrace a faction that travels so frequently through Sirius? A faction that could potentially provide information that the GRP couldn't gather.
Oh wait there's the possibility of a bribe. We can't have that. No Police faction ever accepts bribes. Especially from those dirty junkers. A police faction would never try to make some income through questionable means. Why do that when you can rely on the pittance of an income from fines we have to support ourselves on.
Certainly no Police faction has ever raked in hundreds of millions of dollars just to look the other way on minor issues.
Especially if, God forbid, their RP allows such behavior. [/sarcasm]
In all seriousness though I think it's great that there's another Police faction on this server. I wish you luck with your new faction.
