Pirate ID is dead. You can get an Outcast ID and pretend to be a group of unaffiliated pirates that just happen to be from Malta, that's what my intention is. Far wider engagement rights and places to dock isn't all that bad either.
EDIT: Maybe this has been asked and answered already, but what if two pirates brought along a Freelancer? Couldn't they just hire the Freelancer to kill whatever they see fit?

1. non-generic can't be hired by technically generic ID (TheUnforgiven).
2. Akapai is from Kusari, same with roleplayed character, and such ID is out of place.
3. Freelancer IFF is "must be", due to character of the roleplay.
4. Freelancer ID is out of question, there's no BB that aims Hogosha and Corse.
5. Haven't I pointed all this out already a few times? And that I can't afford SRP?
6. Add up that my ship also visits Rheinland.
Also, this ID isn't dead. It's just used scarcely. I picked up Pirate ID for a reason to not to break rules.

Or maybe RL legal office with RL lawyers so we can play the game safely?
One lawyer for every pirate-new disco moto for 2015!
God damned philosophers, you'll ruin what's left of this game.
+1
Freelancer is now the only one game where i need fraps - just for screenshots. And i always hope not get sanctioned when i engage somebody - even when i always play strickly with the rules.
As I suggested on the Pirate Update thread, make Pirates able to collect at least individual bounties. Backdoor, Black Bounties make that happen for Pirate ID so at least it would be stated on forum. I don't mean in game bounties like you can do with Freelancers, like "Hey Freelancer I pay you x mil if you engage that xy". But rather the indiviudal bounties, Dark deals, underground pacts and stuff. At least with this, it wouldn't make the pirate ID that bad.
I even imagine that Lawful factions could be sending Highly Encrypted transmissions to certain Pirate Groups to take care of someone or some group which they would pay highly for it. These are like just one time bounties, but secretly hidden. While Freelancers have to register themselfs on the BB, such Black Bounties could be set for Pirates. It ain't "allying with lawful" it's just making the dirty job for money, since pirates are so obsessed for money. : )))
The ones putting the indiviudal bounties can then choose if they want to let a Pirate organization (or just a Pirate) deal with this, or if they don't want to get their name put into dirt, search for Freelancers.
why should even a pirate have pirating a military ship in mind? There's no logic in a pirate looking for cops to rob them. they should be running away and hiding from them. so i don't get those for whom this is a bad nerf.
but one thing: if a military ship is escorting a transport, and CDs the pirate ship to help the transport escape... what happens that time? Is it a violation if the pirate pirates the military ship instead of his real victim?
P.S Garret, you were very interesting about my opinion about the Pirate ID nerf, right?

The goal of this change, according to what has been said by admins, was to stop indy pirates from demanding credits from law enforcement right?
So.... Why is it that the actual change doesn't read anything even remotely close to this? Cuz I have to say, right now it looks as if there is definitely secondary motives or problems besides just this ONE so called problem. If that is the case, care to share what they might be instead of just telling us that its "our fault" for playing the ID how it read? If that is NOT the case, and this change was really supposed to be a precise and targeted change to eliminate indy pirates pirating law enforcement, then I'm sorry but it failed and hard.
And to the people complaining about the demand being followed by an ultimatum involving their death, ummmm duh? Does this really need to be said? What kind of ridiculous outlaw or robber when denied money, would then "rp" asking to take their imaginary shirt off their imaginary back? RI DI CU LOUS. Remove the ID entirely if this is the "RP" you want us to go for, cuz I'm sorry I play a pirate to be a bad guy and bad guys lay down the punishment they don't offer weak alternatives that cheapen their own game experience, and for that matter everyone elses. Shirt off your back gimme a break. Can't believe people used such lame examples of RP to use instead of "pay or die". Anyone who seriously is out there pirating for imaginary shirts is breaking RP more than anyone asking 2 mil or death, atleast the latter reflects an actual outlaw and not a stuffed animal.
2 mil or die isn't even close to pvp abuse to begin with, you should target the ACTUAL problems like pirating law enforcement and pvp abuse by asking absurd amounts or not offering enough time (even though all that waiting for a trader to respond will get you is 1 d/c'ed trader more often than not, atleast the ones that stall are MOST definitely doing this but I guess NM that ooRP abuse eh?). I think we can all agree that 2 million is pennies on this server correct?
Basically eliminated one of very few roles on this server that don't require attaining a PHD in your chosen field.. err faction I mean. Theres a reason why I chose to play an indy pirate and not faction pirates, because the rest do not appeal to me as a newcomer to both Disco and to Freelancer period, at all. Is this my fault? ofcourse not. Is it the servers fault? DEFINITELY not. Will they probably appeal to me more once I actually log some real hours here and get over my newbie status in this game as a whole? Almost certainly. My point? You took the one niche I found intriguing right now, and you murdered it for bogus, unrelated, and irrelevant reasons..
@Snake below me, I totally agree with you, altho I am still too new to know about these bounties you speak of. It sounds like a very cool aspect and it also sounds like it would fit the pirate RP absolutely perfectly. I really hope they consider that.
@Logic? The problem is not pirating law enforcement, it's about generaly not beeing able to pirate Snubs, Gunboats that are NOT Enforcers of any House. This, just to your point.
@Fira I completely agree with you here, it is lame. Hence why I requested that Pirates could at least collect the money put on someones head, it would at least make more sense than a Pirate asking for a Cop to pay him.
Seriously though, give the Pirate ID ability to collect unlawful bounties. It's not about unlawful mercs, it's about the filthy rats the Pirates are they just do everything for money, for gold, for whatever (where are the shekelsss :3333). You can restrict that a Pirate isn't allowed to pirate a Law enforcement because yes inRP it doesn't make sense, however removing the ability to actually attack a law enforcement is stupid. Pirates aren't always running, if they see smaller numbers of law enforcement, trust me, they will go for it and attack them by any chance, or at least take them as prisoners so that they can demand money for their lifes from their governments.
I find it stupid that there is a restriction of Ship-Based-Piracy, while I understand the thing about law enforcement, it doesn't make sense for me, why a Pirate shouldn't be able to pirate a Interspace Commerce Fighter or Gunboat, or an IMG Fighter or GMG any corporation or Freelancer.
Freelancer ID could basicly do anything, depending on which side is paying more. Pirates would be restricted to Unlawfuls only.
i agree with you @Snake
when a BAF officers carries a Corsair pilot why cant i demand that guy to return him as they should be contraband too not only the other way (pirate carrying a BAF officer)
wouldnt that make sense too?
i also would love to be able to use a cruiser as pirate to have a chance against IMG trolling and so on
