At the start of my patrol, a ship tagged [NLH]Butterfly asked me to stay out of Leeds, because he didn't want any trouble. Initially, I thought nothing of it, as my patrol was planned to take place primarily in New London today, and the NLH tag didn't immediately ring any bells. By the time I remembered what the [NLH] tag meant, she was flying past me in New London. I did not have time to apprehend Butterfly, however, because I was occupied dealing with a hostile group of Mollys. When I landed at a shipyard, I heard the Butterfly asking for, using her word, donations. When the Synth Foods convoy that he made his request to refused, she did not fire. I was confused by both the bizarre situation and the Gaian's rather childlike demeanor, and allowed her to remain under the condition that she didn't shoot at anyone while asking for donations, until I was able to ask other Constables for assistance. Eventually, Constable Brown appeared and decided that it was best that the Gaian leave. She wanted to be escorted out, but Constable Brown refused. I didn't think she was preparing an ambush, so I volunteered to do so. Constable Brown accompanied us, in case of a trap. Shortly before we reached Leeds, our trade lane travel was interrupted by Gaians, but Butterfly did not help them to shoot us down, so I think the two were unrelated.

Sirs:
I made a patrol of Leeds, NL, and Cambridge systems yesterday. It was rather uneventful, save an encounter with the independent pirate vessel Black.Pearl. I found the pirate off of Planet NL and asked him to halt, which he refused to do. I chased him to Cambridge. There, I lost him, though he remained in system. He said he had been chased out of Liberty to Magellan, though he was really trying to get to the Sigmas; hence, he was just "passing through." He also said he was preparing to leave, provided I extended some sort of kind word or courtesy to him. I engaged him in conversation for a bit, and then extended a kind word to his children. He then left, with a promise (prompted by me) to halt next time for BPA. He did not attempt to engage me, nor do I know of any violence committed by him against other vessels. Any future incursion into Bretonian space by this pirate should be firmly challenged, but I expect he will cooperate.
I also encountered one or two Junkers who refused to halt when asked. I have up to now considered Junkers rather harmless and have allowed them to pass without trouble if scans show nothing untoward. However, disrespect such as this leads me to not be so charitable in the future. I hope their behavior changes.

An outcast by the name of Walach attacked me when I was travelling toward Leeds. I had stopped to scan him for Cardamine before demanding his departure, but he didn't give me a chance to; I simply heard "engaging police" and next thing I remember I'm sitting in Poole's medical ward. Thanks to whoever brought me here.
As my ship was destroyed in what appeared to be four shots, even with my shield upgrades, I'm inclined to believe this one will need to be dealt with by the military. Exercise extreme caution in dealing with this Walach.
Constable Sullivan out. Will probably take a few days to recover.

Subject: Xenos in Bretonia!
Sirs, it has been a while since my last report. I was patrolling Leeds this evening when I received a report on a private comm channel that there were Xenos afoot in Manchester. I took the Manchester jump hole from Leeds and quickly found the following two Xenos:
RAB-Ares and RAB-Alexi.Karchov
They were engaged in battle with some Mercernaries. I didn't get all of their names, but one of them was Ranov'la.Aran[M].
I was just monitoring the situation making sure no civilians or traders got caught in the crossfire. I had not engaged as the Xenos were both flying Taiiden bombers. I was helping a passer-by go around the firefight when one of the brigands opened fire on me.
I announced that I was engaging in an attempt to keep the Xeno's attention on me, thus allowing the transport to pass by safely. I fought alongside the mercernary for a few minutes, but my light fighter proved to be no match for the heavily armed bombers. Next thing I remember was waking up in the infirmary.
Although I am a little worse for the wear, I am glad that all of the innocent civilians were able to get away. While in my hospital bed, I saw reports that the two Xenos were followed to the Magellan system where they met their untimely demises. Now it is time to rest, drink some tea, and talk with that comely nurse standing outside my room. Until next time,

Constable Higgins,
Congratulations, this was nicely handled. Good work! Don't worry about your lost Hussar, the main thing is that nobody got seriously injured.
However, I feel urged to inform you that the "Xenos" are most probably members of the SCRA, the Coalition Army. For future encounters with this organisation I advise utmost caution. If they don't comply to our orders, we may be forced to engage them.
Regards,
Captain Samuel Vimes
But the Raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered--
Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before--
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before."
<blockquote>Then the bird said, "Nevermore."</blockquote>

Good Day Mates,
Today was quite an eventful day. It started with a quick jump to Planet New London from my office on Cambridge. There I saw a certain Underbridge, who was carrying Cardimine, and over one hundred Corsair prisoners. Before I could enforce my proclamations of contraband, I was accosted by a Gaian Pilot, Sinn_Fein. I engaged her immediately, not wanting a Gaian presence anywhere that close to the capital, and dispatched her with surprising ease. What was oddest about her, though, was not that she was flying a Molly ship, but that she was using Bretonian Military grade weaponry. I've heard of the Gaian's support on Cambridge, but that was just unheard of....
After this spar, I pursued Underbridge into Cambridge, and warned him of his defiance to Bretonian Law, and arrived at the Omega-3 Jump Gate just as he jumped through. I was then hailed by Constable Blake Sullivan to assist with what might have been a hostile Kusari Militant carrying Boron in New London. I came to Leeds, where Constable Blake followed the Kusari to. We met him on the trade lane to the Planet, and informed him of his status within Bretonia. He stated that he was no Kusari, and I told him that as long as he flew that ship with that IFF, he would be under suspicion within Bretonia, and asked to leave. He did so after relinquishing his Boron with no questions.
Again, Constable Blake and I spotted Underbridge. He continued to have the same 107 units of both Cardimine and Corsair Prisoners. We argued for quite a bit about whether or not our scanners were working correctly, and ended up firing upon Underbridge. He returned fire, saying "Bugger Off! I am doing nothing wrong!" and "Police Abuse!" We stopped firing when we came upon Constable Lawrence and Sergent Cooper. At this point, Underbridge ran to the Cambridge Jump Hole, and escaped into Omega-3 from there.
There, I landed upon Kensington Shipping Platform as my mine dropper was somehow loosed from three of the six rivets holding it on. I returned half an hour later to find everyone still here, including the new Constable Alistair Price and Captain Mcnab and Mr. John Heydon of the SRD squadron. I was told by Sergent Cooper to not touch Underbridge again, by direct command of Sir Lauderdale, and am certainly looking forward to the reasoning. We then spotted a possible pirate in Cambridge, a Mr. John Willow, and went to search for him. After some searching, we determined that he was yet moored with some station, and each picked one at the command by Sergent Cooper. He was found at Cardiff Mining Facility in a Kusari Destroyer. We escorted him out of the system through the Omega-3 Jump Gate.
Then, we deliberated who should do the paperwork, and, if you haven't guessed already, I "Volunteered."
Despite the paperwork, a good day to be sure.

Constable Alistair (whose last name escapes me at the moment, my apologies) and I caught someone named Supernova smuggling counterfeit software. He complied with our requests rather amicably; however, this incident raised some concerns. He had some 2500 units of software aboard (or perhaps it was 250; I unfortunately did not record this incident). I have some concerns that the fines, in proportion to the amount of contraband carried, are a mere pittance to these smugglers. Perhaps we should have the fines scale to the amount of contraband?

I have a question. It seems that some regulations may have changed from what is written, so I was wondering if the ship list (// on the first page) is still accurate.
Also, we apparently underfined Supernova earlier; the fine we issued was $1 million, but according to the first page it was $2 million we were supposed to charge. I have no intent of rectifying that by charging him again, since that was our own mistake, unless you tell me otherwise.

The Bretonian law hasn't changed significantly since the foundation of the BPA.
Important updates were the allowance of a certain dose of Cardamine (for personal need) - five units per ship are completely legal anything above is to be prosecuted.
Concerning the ship list - the only ship for us is and remains the B-294-L Series Hussar. Sergeant Barclay (currently on vacation) was flying an Arrow but said vessel proved to be way too inefficient for the daily work of a constable.
We have certain exceptions of course - namely, the Armouries (Percherons) and the SRD units (Challengers).
Both are limited though and only show themselves in times of need.
On a final note, do not worry about the smuggler Supernova and his fine. Just make sure you do not repeat that mistake and all's well.
I as well think that the fines for Software Smuggle should be more severe, but things won't change until the law is changed.
That is all for now.
