Reading that made me sad. Personally I've held O'Rhu in a generally decent regard. There could be improvements, however you're nowhere near as bad as some other factions I've had to deal with *COUGH*IMG*COUGH*

Generally from my experience the Omicrons really aren't the most fair-friendly region in disco. Strategically they are balanced though, which is something that can be lived with, as it doesn't hamper the fun of the fights too much. Personally, regardless whether I like it or not, I've grown to accept that ganking in the Omicrons is sadly a necessity. Whether Core makos are getting dumped on by 6 AI Cruisers, or there are 6 Ossies waiting on the other side of a jump hole, or if there's a wave of Corsairs coming at us from Gamma, I've pretty much grown to accept that this is the norm in the Omicrons. However, I've made it a rule within the faction that we will only gank if we are being ganked, or have been ganked previously, or if we need to gank for srategy/tactical reasons. Otherwise I try to ensure fair fights if I can.

Fortunately, Thanatos have given me a peer into Order group communications, and I get to see things from your side (I don't really get the opportunity to fly my Order ships, as I generally need to log Core to motivate the faction and guide them). What I am observing is a poor and somewhat disgruntled attitude, which stems from a root problem that I established in the above paragraph.

Of course it must be stated that when it comes to capital ships it's a lot more messy to balance a fight as capital ships are more about strategy than direct combat as you would find in snubcraft. On that note though I would like to see O'Rhu fly snubs more often. When you mostly log caps it's a lot harder to bring a more balanced force into the fray. Personally I'd love to see more snub fights in the Omicrons, as they seem to be in short supply. Perhaps next time you see Core ships log in that aren't caps or gunboats, you guys could do the same and log something in of a similar class?

On the subject of system raids, yes those are very hard to balance. Often Core just logs all it can and heads straight to Mu and idles whilst we wait for something to log in. We never know what we're going to face, so it's best to over-prepare than under-prepare.

In conclusion, these are just some words to heed. Personally I don't really mind ganking. It's just a part of disco that you have to deal with, live with and ultimately accept and do yourself sometimes. Fully removing ganking from all our fights is probably an impossibility, though I think we can all do better to ensure that not every fight will end up with a gank

Firstly, while I do agree with the most of what you said, I just can't resist not pointing out that at least nine out of ten fights between O'Rhu and Core are a gank.

In my last fight with core (before the today's one in Mu), I was ganked in zeta, pretty understandable thought.

Whenever we go in delta, we do get ganked and we happen to return the favor to you when you raid Mu, and this honestly is fair, at some extend at least? As you said "we'd have to deal with it."

I have fought Core a thousand times and only once I happened to be in a fair and balanced fight where both parties stand on equal terms, as you said, we'd have to deal with it. Maybe I should not remind you of your 4 or 5 (can't remember exactly) bombers ganking OCV-Bastet in omicron Mu somewhat a month ago, that time when you ran into the mines, remember? I could go on and on with examples of Core ganking if you wish. We also never bothered bringing that matter on forum because we share the same opinion as yours - that's just the way it goes in the Omicrons.

And therefore when we get ganked, we'd probably gank back just as you claim, more over that you're raiding a home system belonging to the enemy, you wouldn't expect it to end like a walk in the park would you?

What comes around, goes around, simple as that.

And thank you for your feedback thought, I enjoy fighting core especially in bigger ships, its a lot of fun, but snubs are not my area and about the today's comms and the log you provided - this is the fight at a later stage, many of us and of yours were already out, including me, so I will leave that for Axis to comment on when he comes back.

Also I don't see anything disturbing on that log that would make someone sad, even a core that is? heh

P.S. Vulture was alone for the most time against 3 snubs, with a cruiser on his side, how does that call upon us ganking you?

Personally, ive had fun encounters with you guys, pews in zeta and in mu. And you even let me respawn at times if i get ganked in another system. I find that very kind.

Why use a past tense. Just because a fight did not go your way but rather equal!? you no longer hold us on that decent grade? Personally I do not judge a faction based on it's PvP habits nor do I pick on peoples choice at fighting tools. So for this to stay here and to answer some of your guys calling us

That capwhoring is rather a personally choice of playing the game than an unwritten rule of whatever you are saying about snufighting:

1.There are other things in life than training a snub in /conn (consider this argument in a larger perspective, including here game time, other things that take priority and the fact some of our guys just in general look down on fighters just as you look down on Caps).
2.The thing at snubcrafting has been discussed over and over again. some agree that if the opponents are weak they are entitled to bring whatever means to try and have at least a chance at getting some blue some do not. I guess one of your guys is definitely on the NOT side. The learning curve for it it's hellish though and I for one am not going to invest tons of my RL time into that just because...as that is the PvP side of things...and I am here for the RP side of things...and same goes for some of the guys in our group. In time it will only come as with any other game out there. Until then, want a fair fight in numbers..maybe get some of the guys joining Core just for the easy blues to join Order in for a change.

You're being bias about the Core here and trying to get the dead cut under our rug. The fact is and has been written inRP a couple of times Core ganks to a similar extent on our group. We've started administrating your own medicine and it seems it tastes bitter now, I see.

Should I remember anything else but the fight that took place merely a week ago, in Zeta...in which 2 Caps and a Gboat got ganked by your side? Was it two Bcruiser, a Gunboat, some 2 bombers and a fighter? One could not exactly call that fair fighting in terms of number and types of guns. Yet nothing had happened apart from a blue on the Gboat..and the fight took a while. You don't see any of us going head first on the forums writing PvP related issues...as we've silently grown to accept this is one of the norms in the Omicrons. You do it, we do it..heck I've been ganked in Delta by Sairs while already being ganked by Core. I've been ganked in Mu by Core and Zoners in a group...Your group's doing. So let's present the facts as they are, not only what is convenient.

Point taken and considered. But as a little add to it: fairness does not come solely based on numbers...so consider that also when you'll see one of our guys hugging a friendly Gboat.

I stand by that and fully support it. But I also know there are easy-blue hunger people out there...so I will keep a Gboat close, just in case.

We thank you for the feedback and the inputs brought here. Is always nice to have insights from "enemy" side. We are considering the points made here and we will keep them in mind.

Fun to pew as well, I still got some leftover tops on my bomber from last encounters. I am looking forward for the next time I get the chance to use them.

Anyhow, this will never solve the issue. If we all go with "omg they ganked us so we have to gank them too" the endless cycle will continue, I m telling you that. As long as one side quickly doesnt stop the gank and even if they get ganked still continue not ganking it will be noticed from the opposite faction, unless ooRP grunts are involved.

I dont see another way out realy. AI's try to gank when I m not around which also makes me sad, because with me I always try to give the target a chance to fight, only on rare occasions I order the fleet to attack and that s probably because RP whise inside Kappa everything gets engaged, it's because the RP is build around that (you can find it in the info page).

grunts and hatred just ruin all the fun. I think that's maybe why someone actually hates gank utmost, if there wouldnt be any ooRP related grunt, command this wouldnt even be that harmful. Because you could accept if you run into a swarm of Makos/Ossies/AICruisers alone, you re screwed. But because of all the ooRP relations and connections it makes the ganks more rageful.

How about all 3 factions could actually sit together once and discuss this matter? Looking after a solution? We'd get along ooRPly at least, which is important in such matters.

@Snake: I agree with everything said there to some extent, on which I will shed some ideas.

1. If things happen in home systems, I consider the defending faction is entitled ot use any force....this is why you do not see an ooRP post of O'Rhu concerning us getting ganked in Delta....which we consider to be ooRP somewhat home-turf to Core rather than Rho (get those platforms and the Cap spam out of Rho and we will go there to ask for trouble just like you do in Mu) . No issue there with ganking or getting ganked.
2. I and I hope our group do not gank out of spite...I do it because Omicrons taught me this way. I've come here on a system already in place.
3. I have no personal grunts with any other in the factions around us, nor do any of my people. Most of them respect the oppositions for their way at fighting and look forward to every brawl. apart from the usual down feeling after loosing, we are all cheerful and good to go the next day.
4. I hate things done ooRPly, over Skype..I think this is what harms the gameplay more than ganking. The hidden agendas, friendly or not so friendly relations gone to extreme and all that hurt ingame experience. Why go all the way out of game when you can have an inRP pact, based on whatever reason? (just like there are the laws of war to which most of the country stand by - even make terorist type faction based on those not respecting the laws)

Thank you for the input but let's refer to feedback stuff here. I agree we should continue this on a more appropriate section on the forums.

I hope you didn't refer with point 4. about my sentence though, because what I meant with "sorting out alltogether" wasn't meant to solve inRP conflicts ooRPly, no. It was about a nice talk between factions to sort out ooRP grunts, so we can all continue our RP comfortable, even if we're hostile to each other. So no more "WTF!? CORE GANK WHAT THE HELL" or "AI GANK GG" "ORDER FLEET YEA WTF!?" happens again.

Wow, all this discussion here and I just saw you guys throwing two double missile GBs at three snubs, with 2 Order| snubs and a cruiser backing you up as you did that.
That is not cool, not at all. Not sure whether you've got some intense desire to "win by any means necessary" or something, but try thinking about the fight from the other PoV. It's not about winning all the time, you can still have fun within the fight itself.

I can somewhat handle one double missile gb but two being thrown into a snub fight is crossing the line. My opinion of you has dropped.

I'll save myself posting this on the Order| feedback thread too this time, but this also goes out to them as well.

I actually enjoyed that fight, we all did, your battlecruiser did a pretty good job repulsing our gunboats and even the cruiser who for some reason could not inflict any sufficient damage to the BC.

Or eh, I think you're forgetting you had a BC on your side? If you are to provide feedback concerning an engagement, include every asset involved in both sides and not just ours, making us look as if we've ganked you or something. Please refrain from such attitude in the future, it does not suit you.

That BC was actually the key factor of your side in that fight, it made both sides even, kudos to him.
And all in all, I enjoyed the fight, you managed to take us all while only losing one snub, which is plausible, is it not?

Yeah this here...I do not see it's point as long as you won the fight..meaning the forces were rather equal and you played your hand better.

In reference to what has been talked, I guess you have not got the hint about fair fight is not referring to strictly a quantified number of similar crafts fighting, rather than the overall chance of succeeding in whatever crafts assemble. So rather use this before posting here about yet another imagined unfair fight. From where I stand 3 fighters and a BC against 2 fighters 2 Gboats and a Cruiser is fair, if the second part is less experienced (guess what, that is the case here).

If you, and by extent others in your group are here just to make easy blue, I could understand your problem, because as far as I understand, the fight took a while to finish. But if not, your point is invalid. So take the win, go over the inRP threads and write a big report about how your overwhelmed group won versus an Armada (and we will be glad you do it)...but do not come here after and post non-sense.

Now, we ain't no saints but you are not either. So why the QQ now...!? And that thing about the insane desire of winning. I would take the time and look at what members you have in your group and what members we have, and just in terms of years playing this, not even considering experience and all that so don't come here and try acting up if you do not want to give constructive criticism.

It wasn't necessarily fun though. I can assure you from TS that the snubs were not having a thrilling time. We won simply due to better strategy and coordination.

How would you guys feel if we did this to you? Continuing with your belief that we are more experienced (we may be, I guess) imagine if we start using double missile gunboats in our fights. We have the assets and can easily do so. I'm quite sure your lot would get very upset if we start roflstomping you without mercy.

From the start you guys were planning on throwing two double missile gunboats, 2 order snubs and possibly the cruiser at 3/4 snubs. Only by me swapping from Erik to the Anassi did the balance slightly increase in our favor. The motive and execution on your part was not cool.

I don't care about blues, I care about fun. It's not all about victory and consistent winning. I can settle with loses provided I and the rest of my faction have fun whilst doing so. Think about things from an ooRP perspective from the players viewpoint.

My group care about fun and at least a little bit of fairness in pvp encounters. We can handle losing, we can handle winning. If you teach the message of "victory by any means necessary!!!" in your group you are going to slowly find that the attitude of the community will turn negative against you.

Whilst truthfulness of that statement differs with scenario, he's certainly right here. Especially when you log two.

I've been down the path of making a faction that focused solely on winning. Sure, it can be great for the faction that has constant winning streaks but it is terrible for everyone who has the poor luck of interacting with you. In your ZoI you need to respect your opponents and treat them fairly, otherwise you'll kill them off because they'll no longer have a desire to interact with you due to your approach to gameplay.
