You have a troll that uses "whining" incorrectly and without even reading the thread.

Perhaps this thread should be about the quality of the players on Disco rather than the same old indie v official debate?
Perhaps, but make a new thread for that. Are you talking about the OP or are you talking about what the commenters diverted to?
Im just talking about quality of RP in general... assuming the indy is playing correctly.

You don't raise public awareness by being vague though. It wouldn't hurt to be more specific and to structure what you've said more precisely, by pointing out examples and (perhaps) saying what sort of official factions are guilty of this. You make some points, or ask some questions, only for others to answer them and for you to immediately change your point/question.

did you not see my two examples of how i'm one of those god damn indie lovers

Please fix yours before you moan about mine
Lets talk about an HMS ship farming nomad remains in Omicron-99 whilst there's a war going on. Or a KDS ship even.

whinge (wĭnj, hwĭnj)
intr.v. whinged, whing·ing, whing·es Chiefly British
To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.
I actually would like to have this conversation. I think it's a valuable discussion to have. To do so, we need to refrain from personal attacks and general unconstructive behavior. I'll be cleaning this thread, and keeping an eye on it. Behave.
From my point of view, it's easier to 'guarantee' that a faction player is at least interested in roleplaying. If you stop a random guy with a Bowex ID, you don't know if it's going to be awesome roleplay, silent fleeing, insults, or F1ing. If you stop a Bowex) player, you know you'll (most likely) get some roleplay at least, or at the very least not rule breaking. Over time that experience of "Indies have more chances of being bad interactions" becomes an expectation of "indies are bad interactions". It's unfortunate, how do you propose we fix it?
I'd like to know who you are addressing here, and what sort of response you're expecting.
To an extent officials will always be treated differently because of something they have which indies do not: accountability.
But yeah, I'm not sure what the point of this thread is.

Quote:Individual players. Why the hell are they treated like crap at times? Ohh I see... Just because you have a tag it means you are better?
No.
When you encounter Indy players dont wave them off with their rp. Don't treat them differently or with less respect than the official faction. There are people behind those ships that wana have fun. Don't brush them off automatically.
"oh it is just an Indy..."
No. It is a player pertaining to a faction. Treat it as such.
Oh have you been playing for longer and think you deserve more? Please. If you have played longer than you know how much of a pain in the butt that is.
How about respect them, invite them, play with them, interact, notice them.
We need to make a change here, folks. This behavior we have now especially from leaders is toxic.
Let me break it down for you, Karst.
You meet an indy in space and he looks like he is cool and not an idiot/troll and wants to have fun and RP. He even asks if you want an escort.
All good signs that this guy seems legit.
Then there are 2 options generally (OH NO HE IS GOING GENERIC AGAIN ON US) :
1: The ignore/not important for my RP route.
2: The lets RP with this guy route.
Like im talking about quality of RP.
Look Look.

I am just saying I have seen stuff like this in the past and even on my own indy while flying it is sometimes hard to get some good RP going... while i would be in the SAME ship but with a tag and i would be treated better as in i'd get good RP vibes.
Im not saying everyone is bad. I just want to see the average line go up. As in like... some are bad and some are good... and just raise the bar up a bit. Sorry I cant explain it more.
Another example would be like... pirates who would pirate an indy becasue they cannot do anything but the same ship with a tag pirates would think twice becasue Oh no we could get into trouble!
An easy example of this would be back in the day when flying my pirate we would think twice before pirating a zoner becasue there was that zoner alliance or something that you could get into trouble with. I am not saying anything like it was a bad thing/good thing in terms of zoners BUT I am saying that way of thinking should be kept.
After finishing ranting, would you be so kind, please, to answer Mwerte's question? After all he has brought up valid points, and I guess it is logical to assume that if you have brought up a subject which has been persistent to this community for quite long already, thus impossible to miss, then you probably have a solution to solve this issue too. Don't you?
The double standard thing I'd apply to both the OP and some replies.
Case in point, you specifically state in the OP that its faction members attitude towards indies but I must ask, would you have posted this thread if it was another indie who'd ignored/refused to RP with you?
