I think the minimum time should be reduced. I truly believe it would be for the benefit of everyone if time wouldn't be as much of an issue as quality and quality would be judged not on how long but how WELL it is performed.
I agree with nomnom the time thing should be regulated more, if I wanted to be super realistic, it would take a month for a mutiny to go down as I said before to king boo.
Well it must be me because I know I get around sometimes, but ironically I have seen many of the other SRP'd ships passed in the last year or so. Its true though that it seems for most, activity on SRP'd ships does die down after the initial stages. In a way that happens with all characters regardless. They will come and go.
In my case, I always like to remind folks that I SRP'd for the rule set and not a special ship or equipment combination. At the time I had reflected on my time playing Freelancer and realized that i didn't care about having a lot of ships, or big powerful capital ships that cost a lot in time and credits. Everyone starts out like that, working their way up and trying out everything you can. Eventually I settled in happily to a pelican. Instead of buying a ship or armor or more equipment, I invested in special RP and ability that, to me, is just as fun as a massive well armored battleship.
So bottom line I know that the last attempt I made which was passed also didn't really establish very much new precedent, and was basically something that had already been passed in prior cases. I've learned that setting new precedent is the hardest part, and something the admins seem most hesitant on. I made 2 attempts in the 6 months prior. In the end, the time sunk into the character is its own incentive to keep involved in it. When you invest that much into one thing you do want to get your use out of it. But I'm sure many, myself included, are also happy to have such ships stashed away for a good time. The first 4 months pretty much require a steady RP and activity just to meet the standard for keeping it going. After that, you can sort of relax for a while
Or in my case, keep going.
PS - I will add that it seems like there should be a separate SRP system for simple ship/ID/tech variations, vs. Spec Op ID requests.

No one wants to work a whole year to get a bad ship.

I will say it's most stupid idea in last 3 years
Yeah, I think that Liberty would have to check itself if a bunch of LSCs went missing and turned into the same Nomad hybrid form.
