I'm rage posting about battleships that uncloak right next to you and open fire after 2 clearly macro'd messages. It's clearly within the rules to do so, but is such a dick move after having carried on a conversation with others for a good 10 minutes and have a random uncloak and fire point blank
Yes but why not rage inrp and post a bounty or something instead of blaming cloaks. you might have just as easily used a cloak to escape if you'd had one as well. besides, now what are the odds of being fooled twice? And if they were right next to you, you missed the sound that gives them away when they are that close, it seems.

CD's magically disrupt cloaking.
Alley, I'm too much of a newb at this to know what you mean by cloak sounds. Do they emit a constant hum or something that I should be able to notice?
Problem I turn off sound so can't hear the cloak sound. An easy fix would be to NOT turn off the sound I know, but even so , would it be a good idea to implement some sort of a warning on screen when a cloaked ship is near you? Just like a big ass C
don't worry i was in liberty and saw a pirate... then cloaked ... then i was like wtf sooo i carried on a patrol escorted a ai out the NY after stopping at the trade lane something knocks me from behind.. opened fired and was a nomad ship crapped myself RP and he made such great distance and then cloaked again.. i had hd headphones but gunship engines makes a noise i couldn't hear the cloaked jelly.
I do believe that most people around here blast some music while playing, like me, so it's hard for their earholes to receive the humhum or whatever sound the cloak makes.
I believe there's only one solution.

Make the hum louder for Capital Ships and able to be heard from a greater distance than the snub one.
Unless that's already in the mod and I'm derping hard.
