Honestly, that still doesn't look good. Personally I think bases should all have their quickdock points deleted and actual docking points added As an alternative. Like the above, but they're too big to look proportionate or decent. I mean, a transport shipyard scaffold or a planet mooring stick on there just looks a bit wrong. Base model is too small.
What'd be really useful is having 3 variants of mooring point, which could be affixed for ships and stations of varying sizes. For stationary battleships, refueling platforms with a mooring point could be either attached to them, or sat very nearby for transports to dock on.
Honestly, that discussion could probably do with its whole own non-Flood thread.
Dunno, Jammi. The docking part is just a mooring point for the ships, so being proportions are not too relevant at this point. If that was the case, why not restrict all Yanagi-esque depots to freighters and fighters only?
I see what you mean, it does look like, and I quote:
[7:23:37] Echo / Star 7: But you know what, the entire bloody moor is completely oversized relative to the core base, and because there's no need for a base that looks like it's "ribbed for her pleasure", I might just remove it entirely.
So I will fool around and see if I can propose something that would make Alcatraz look like an actual center of Rogue smuggling operations between Liberty core systems and the outside.
Stay tuned.

Honestly, having unlawful bases divided up into freighters only and transports plus would be kinda cool. Means all kinds of neat shenanigans like the Leeds docking satelite could be pulled off with supplies and contraband on a local level. Would also clearly differentiate bases in levels of importance. Presumably some base models would need upgrading to reflect what their infocards said though.
What you could do for Alcatraz is scale the mooring point down as low as Freelancer will let you, then wedge it halfway into the base model to hide part of it. Another interesting, highly ramshackle option would be to have another nearby asteroid studded with storage containers, with a mooring hardpoint crudely affixed to it. A Roguey version of the refueling platform I mentioned for stationary battleships.
