Mr Price,
your application to the Special Response Division is hereby accepted. Please register your SRD unit under the callsign
BPA)A.Price[SRD
The vessel fielded by the Special Response Division is the B-3000 "Challenger" Bomber, as you probably know. We receive our Challengers from the Royal Fleet, at Battleship Derby.
Please contact me in space in order to set up your new ship. I will give you further information then.
It is important to remember that the SRD is only to be brought into action when the inner security of Bretonia is in severe danger. An example would be one or multiple capital vessels above the class of a gunboat and the simultaneous absence of the Royal Fleet.
It is only in events of this gravity that the SRD is showing itself. Basically, if the Fleet is around, call them in and stay in your Hussar.

Subject: Previous Absence, Report, Question, Ship Problem
First, I should address my absence these past few days. I've simply been under the weather lately, probably the result of pursuing a thief on foot in Leeds. Never did catch the guy, he still has my good communicator! That's why I'm in the refrigerated storage unit at Kensington; this five-year-old one keeps overheating on me. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't pursue that journalism career; this thing would probably explode on me.
Moving on to more relevant matters...
Shortly after I began my patrol, Constable Brown began his, and we joined up. Little that I can remember happened, other than a run-in with a Molly (presumably DRA) gunboat. We had it falling apart at the seams, until it got a few lucky shots on me, and my nanobots got stuck in their chamber. Constable Brown recovered my escape pod.
I once again talked to the Gaian [NLH]Butterfly. The communication logs were not saved - I don't trust this thing not to overload and fry me if I work it too hard - but she mentioned a Corsair in Leeds. Unfortunately, I was dealing with other, more homicidal Gaians in New London at the time, and by the time I got to Leeds, I couldn't find the Corsair that she mentioned.
Later, Captain Cooper, myself, and Constable M'guire confronted someone who was carrying Outcast pilots. He reported his destination as Crete, in the Omicrons. Captain Cooper told him to land, but he seemed to have some difficulty understanding the orders. I don't think it was a case of someone being uncooperative, as he eventually caught on without any explosive persuasion.
Regarding my previous ship question, I have a friend, Lloyd Black, who was considering purchasing an Arrow for his own use. Would you care to explain the shortcomings of it to me in a private channel, so I can help him pick a good ship?
There's one other issue I keep having recently. My mines and cruise disruptors do not seem to be firing properly. Either they're duds, or something's wrong with the launch mechanisms. Whatever it is, it's really starting to *static* irritate me. Ah, I've taken too long, this *static* thing is starting to overheat.

Firstly, I'd like to thank Sir Alan for accepting my application.
Secondly, I'd like to say, that I never thought that I'd be so busy as I was today.
As constable Sullivan reported, my first action with the BPA was accompanying Sullivan and captain Cooper on their patrol. Sadly I was unable to do much to aid them, as I could probably do more damage to the enemy ships with my fists, than the Justice guns my ship had.
But I digress, after Sullivan and the captain went off duty I went on patrol in my nice shiny new Hussar.
Question. Is there a tax on arms dealers? Or a specific way to deal with said people? "Bulgarian-Arms.[DA]" was selling arms next to planet... leeds I believe. Just to know for future reference.
Also, I believe that the trade ship "KARMA" should be watched, as he wouldn't stop, and when he did, he fired at me. (I would guess in frustration)
As can be seen from my location, my ship was destroyed. Thankfully a passing trader was kind enough to bring me here, and the doctor says I should be fit for duty soon. This happened in a military action in the Kusari system, under command of QCO Sir Roger.
Although it might be wrong to praise the enemy, Oroku.Saki was a very skilled pilot, very hard to pin down, and I am not at all shamed by my defeat at his hands.

Beg pardon, but Brock was the C.O. for that action. The "Sir" can confuse people. It only indicates that I am of the landed classes and of good stock, and is no reflection of my rank.
And we must praise the young constable for doing a fine job. By Jove he gave as good as he got. We were desparately in need of extra ships for a strike right into Honshu and the young chap answered the call.

Gentlemen,
At first, let us welcome Constable M'guire to the service! A big Huzzah, everyone! Huzzah!
A basket full of selected tea sorts and fine biscuits will be sent to your office, Mr M'guire. As well, good job on your first patrol.
Speaking of patrols.
Your reports are confusing me a tad. According to the listed information, I was on patrol - but that is not the case. I was enjoying a week off duty with my family on Cambridge. So, as long as there isn't a fake Captain Cooper around (and I sure don't hope so, we certainly have enough to do right now)... I suppose you are speaking about Captain Vimes?
Anyways, speaking of the chain of command - Inspector Scott is on a trip with one of our investigation committees until next month, New London Time. The problem is - he took the key codes to the Armoury with him! We will see about a getting the BPA another Armoury, in order to equip new recruits and award veterans with the Mark VIII Armour.
On a final note, continue the great work in space, lads and lasses! The Queen and Bretonia is proud of us and we shall continue to be the pillar and shield that holds and protects our nation in these dangerous times.

Good news, the dratted sawbones in Freeport 6 finally released me from the medical ward. As such I have returned to active duty.
Very little happened during patrol, only 2 things of note happening.
Was patroling in the Leeds system when the onboard com started chattering. From what was said, it seems that pirates "Peg.Leg.Johnny" and "Edward.Morris" were flying far from, well, anywhere in the leeds system. Apparently, they were attempting to reach the Edinburgh system without the use of jump gates! From intercepted com traffic, they were around about 1200k from what I assume is planet Leeds. Odd birds, that pair.
Also in Leeds, long range scanners picked up a harvester ship, "Harvester -17" or some such name. Now, if anyone could clue me in on 'em and what to do about them, I'd be awfy grateful.

Short, but bloody patrol today. As soon as I started my shift I was contacted by RepEx|868 and informed of a corsair blockade of planet Cambridge. I flew as fast as I could to Cambridge and it seems that my arrival prompted RepEx|868 to leave Cambridge and make a dash for freedom. Sadly I arrived a shade too late and the pirate scum had the trader under heavy fire. I engaged without a second thought.
This wouldn't have been too bad, but there were 3 of the blighters flying gunship class cruisers! I charged up weapons and began firing at one of the pirates hoping to draw their attention away from the vessel. But alas, they destroyed the RepEx vessel, and then turned their attention to me. My ship was destroyed in short order, and the remains of my cockpit was tractored in by a fleeing trader, who was making use of the pirates attention on myself and the RepEx vessel.
What remains of my scanner shows that the gunship were: [OPG]Asno.Muleo,[OPG]Kiwi and [OPG]Melkor. Who were now free to pirate the Cambridge system.

If I can be frank, sirs, but I think it's fair to say we're out gunned. Most of the pirates I've encountered on patrol seem to own gunship or higher class ships, and I think we need to address this issue post-haste.
On a related note pirates "[ALC]PanPK" and "biShi" are increasing their presence in Bretonian space.

Fellow officers,
Due to the increasing activity of pirates and other wrongdoers in Bretonia, we might get forced into combat situations more frequently. To make sure everyone is well prepared for these situations, we have set up a combat simulation zone around Newbury Station in Poole. Furthermore, we will be offering instructed flying lessons for those who wish to refresh their combat training.
Main instructor during the absence of Inspector Scott will be Sergeant McNab, as well as myself serving as a supporting instructor.
But the Raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered--
Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before--
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before."
<blockquote>Then the bird said, "Nevermore."</blockquote>

Good Day sirs,
Today was very eventful. It started with a quick run into Cambridge. I soon found, however, a group of Corsair Bombers engaging a BAF Fighter! The Fighter called for help, and I quickly assisted. I have to say, these blokes weren't very good pilots. The ensign and I fought them for a good fifteen minutes, and then the ensign was taken down. I was contacted then by Constable Price, and requested assistance. I fought the Corsairs for another good ten minutes, and, of course, spat insults through the chat. They rebuked that they had downed a pair of BAF bombers before my arrival, which I, of course, did not believe. Upon the arrival of Constable Price, we had almost taken out one of the Bombers, when another three Corsair Fighters of the infamous Benitez Family came to assist their brothers. We were forced to retreat due to their numbers.
After this, I continued to the Leeds system with Ensign Serg Gonta of the BAF. We there say a Corsair IFF'd IMG Viper. I calmly asked him to sort out his IFF as soon as possible, and observed him to make sure he didn't do anything he shouldn't be doing. I then sighted a Rheinland Freighter carrying Cardimine. I asked him nicely to drop all but the legal amount of 5 units, but he refused, and escaped into the South Eastern Smog Cloud. I then sparred for a bit with Ensign Gonta, but had to leave due to personal issues on Leeds.
A fine day for Bretonia!

My patrol was short today. And the report will match.
While traveling through Cambridge, I found a Kusari freighter, named Failure. Trader ID. He was carrying Berylium. I was in the process of questioning him about his destination when [OPG]Kiwi started harassing a trader. I elected to let Failure go, since I had no proof of him doing anything wrong and he was quite cooperative until the interruption, and pursued Kiwi into an ice cloud. I lost him there, but expecting him to return, I patrolled Cambridge.
He returned, predictably. Unfortunately, these Corsairs seem to be pumping out absurd quantities of gunships lately, and when I finally did confront him... well, my ship's a wreck, and I'm little better. Sadly, I was the only constable available, and there was no military backup. I do so wish these Hussars had torpedo launchers.
Needless to say, any training that can be offered would be immensely appreciated. I'll be available almost every day, though this incident means that I'll be tied up for followup examinations on Thursday. In the event that I'm not in my ship, I have enclosed my other contact information. After that training, I would like to join the SRD; I have little doubt that situations like this will continue to come up, as those Corsairs seem to love Cambridge, and the military is quite preoccupied with Kusari at the moment.
Huh. You know, that actually wasn't all that short.

Dear All,
I can safely say that I am making a return to the Authority!
Everything looks like they are in order. In addition, a new BPA Armoury has been commissioned, the BPA)Anvil. Since several officers now have the keys to the armory, we can safely say that it will be more available, at a faster time.
In addition, since the QCRF has returned from her campaigns in the Taus(//they are more active now), I would like to announce a change of modus operandi. While the BPA is still in charge of the enforcement of trade regulations, stamping down of piracy, and counterterrorism, we will not be Bretonia's first line of defense in the case of a full scale invasion. Unless BAF are present, do not initiate an engagement with hostile forces. Retreat to New London. If pursued to New London, retreat to Poole.
On a final note, have the TAZ paid their 20 Million for faction licensing yet?
