Now that this thread has laid dormant for so long I'd like to state that the escalation of the courtroom should have led to inrp consequences for those involved, not a whole faction. Even if he is the leader. The oorp hate for something that happens in movies all the time, which led to the downfall of an entire faction, and a swift downward spiral of the player base since then.
Reading the entire feedback thread I find it amusing that some of the people throwing criticism and hate at the congress have been banned for one reason or another.
Anyway, I left Congress because I can't stand McKenna inrp, and I felt a bit like infared flying serpentis.maximus... All my hours carrying a dead horse, one that you all killed months ago. Oorp.
Please don't bother responding as you've all said enough already, 10 pages just on the trial alone. I suspect Congress will last another month or two, can't say I'll miss it. But I do miss flying with others who didn't hate me for being a Junker.

Everything have a peak, and that peak of discovery RP is passed long time ago.
Rest in peace best group of players i ever played with (junker congress).
I know that with such hatred here, this group wont hold for long and i dont blame you
unfortunately, its the very weak administration which is penetrated by hating kids and adults with kids brains.
this is expected, and soon discovery will fall too , but you sure dont know why lol
no worries, take it easy , i ll tell you why.
Because you left some hating kids affect your decisions and create unpleasant atmosphere for players here
They did it before to another server, Void server, rest in peace.
They were removed from there but you guys here open arms for those trouble makers to stay
so carry the fruits of what you seeded..... good luck discovery, unfortunately i see its only 2 months of fees to keep this server alive.... and i think you wont recieve anymore, because you failed to grow this place longer although some of you managed to keep it alive for a long time..... you wasted their work
good luck
i was just passing by and thought i can left some words

Is this junker feedback, or a place for former Congress players to have their woe-is-me, everyone hates us, admins suck, I'm a martyr, pity party? Getting kind of old. How about for those that wish to stay away, you know, just stay away. Come back when you feel a little less bitter, or never. I don't care.
I never chimed in any feedback on the congress, and I spent a lot of time playing with them for most of 2014 and a bit into this year. So this is my take on some things. Personally I never had any problems with any members individually, but looking back I found that it was hard to keep track of who was leading what, since it seemed to not be so consistent as months went on, or those in power weren't actually as active as they should have been. I admit I didn't have the whole picture though, the first while I was still getting to know them. It seemed though that leadership was most present for group activities, which you'd expect, and that brought members together on some regular basis for convoys etc.
I participated in a lot of convoys with the Congress, both conventional and jump trips, and it was always great fun. Everyone involved seemed to as well. But for some reason other players saw it as threatening and didn't think it was all that good for overall activity, that being the perks of being a Junker period. All I know is, the pscrap rush to alpha was a solid time for the Congress, both in activity and as a good inrp basis for a solid presence all over Sirius.
A few things changed and developed that seemed to add up mounting pressure on Congress members, and it's obvious now it has done some damage to their gameplay. The Congress seemed rather split on what to do about Oyster Creek, and regardless of how it was discovered, it wound up being a victory for an enemy faction in what was basically home territory. Also pvp battles that followed seemed to go against their favor too, and factions that were just as enemy to each other, as they were to Junkers (or less), seemed to avoid each other, but always had Congress players to go after.
The economy shift splitting up the buy points for Pscrap also shattered the stable Junkers economy, and with it the mostly unified convoy routine that had been going on until that time. Then Jump limits came into effect as well and longer convoys became much more tedious.
Then there was the legal dispute that seemed to do nothing but exhaust energy and effort that the Congress lead RP'ers could have sunk into a variety of other things, with other factions and players as they usually had. Unfortunately it was like they were thrown against a wall inrp.
The haters hated, and it all added up. Personally, although being good friends with many of the long time members, and most active members (at the time), gaining close relations with the leadership also eluded me. The RP with Infrared regarding Serpentis seemed to go completely unheeded, and I never knew if that was because they didn't like it, didn't follow the lead I was trying to give them, or were just simply far to occupied to give it much thought.
They suffered some defeats, lost strength from their economy, and endured excessive inrp/oorp litigation...if this were a business, what would you expect to happen? I can never ignore irony, and in this case that simply by being big and successful, also did they make themselves a #1 target, and draw more and more opposition with their gains. I could almost guarantee that if changes were reversed overnight, we could get a pscrap convoy for alpha together in no time .
Love you all, still love the congress even if its had its day, and I hope its not over yet. Nothing ever really dies in disco!

If you could please PM, I'm not really sure what you meant here. There were a few times our paths crossed and I kind of saw this RP rivalry as open ended, but the truth is with very little support from my own faction there is only so much a unarmed unsheilded transport can do. As for Oyster Creek, which you say "damaged Junker gameplay", although the Congress may see this as a defeat of sorts, the cost of that victory to the XA (probably one of the few real territory victories ever for the XA) wears on me more each day, and my long term goal of reaching Core 5 has already been denied, leaving me with the proverbial red-headed stepchild base and rendering the whole project in my eyes a failure. I was simply trying to achieve something for the faction I am a member of, one that is an enemy to the Congress.
I'm open to ideas and input as to how to try and reignite this one, I think some communication between the opposing parties would be beneficial to see if any good can come of it.

It was a solid time for Congress but irritated other players as not only did it harm roleplay interactions for the server, but it also caused distress to the other Junker players who continuously warned Congress that jumping Pscrap would ruin the commodity for all Junkers. Lo and behold, look at what happened. Noticed how general Junker activity has been falling in recent months?
Being someone who used to be, against his own desire, involved in continuous Junker 'matters', my thoughts on Congress are somewhat mixed. Whilst I do feel that you guys are throwing the towel in a bit too hard and too soon, as it's easy for you to resume your previous trading activities as you did in the past, I feel that Congress is somewhat deserving of this demise. Don't get me wrong, as much as JunkerTown may have perpetuated the image I'm not Junker Satan. Rather, I'm someone who had tried to do his best for the Junker NPC faction but got beaten up quite a lot on the way. Not that I mind any more though. I no longer lead JM and have pretty much let go of Junker RP.
I've never truly hated Congress, mostly I've just been disappointed. The big problem with Congress was (which was what they paid for with the loss of the POBs, community and staff backlash, as well as diplomatic backlashes) is that they were very fond of putting their faction first and pretending that everyone else on the server didn't exist. This mentality was perpetuated by the previous 1ic JT (and the HC if they even had one? I've heard that the organizational structure of Congress was non-existent) and was taught from member to member in the faction. The end product was a group of players that happily dragged the faction through the mud doing whatever they pleased but causing trouble for other players on the server, ignorant of whatever consequences may befall those players. The fact that Congress was able to worm their influence into the staff didn't help things for the faction either, as the Staff were (at least it seemed, this is mere conjecture) too much on the Congress's side that they were unable to come forward and tell them when they did something detrimental to the server and prevent them from further harming gameplay.
I feel that this was a significant factor that brought the faction to it's current position. It's unsolved mistakes caught up to it and bit it really hard in the arse. The general ignorance, unwillingness to change for the better of the community and desire to only seek what's best for itself caused the shock was so great that, as evidenced in recent months, broke the faction.
I must say though, recently I've been able to sympathise with the Congress. Truly, the more active your faction is the more flak it receives and some of it actually is the product of jealous from others. It's just a shame that you guys couldn't have put all that activity to good use. Excuse me if I sound snarky here as honestly it's not my intention, but the difference between Core and Congress is, although Core is by no means a perfect faction, we try not to put ourselves in front of the enjoyment and activity of others (which even still critics might debate on. Omg I don't even lock my feedback what more do they want >.>).
In conclusion, as with any faction Congress had potential to be something awesome. I've taken trips through time and looked at previous roleplay and gameplay from Congress and the quality is certainly higher (even better than JM in some regards). Sadly, the faction lacked the healthy mentality, attitude and compassion that is expected of every other faction on this server. Is Congress dead forever? Who knows. Whether Huggie wishes to try and keep things going (which I have heard is a mammoth task) is up to him. I only hope that he acknowledges the mistakes of his predecessors and tries to remedy them. Please don't interpret this as a "hurrr hate post!!" as that's not it's intention.
