The only problem I ever find is that generic ID players can't hire freelancer, making the indie mining operations in Penns succeptable to Pirates when the lawful police/Navy factions aren't online.

Wait, since when? I've seen a lot of Freelancers being hired by other Freelancers and Miners trading ores and commodities. The only thing Freelancer cannot do is to state "I will pay X credits for killing Y guy" due to his lines in ID.

look at the bounty rules.
It is same like a bounty hunter hiring another bounty hunters
This rule only applies I game however.
Example: AFC has their own BBoard
Even before that I remember I issued some individual bounties.
So you are telling me, as an Freelancer trader, cannot hire Bounty Hunter or Freelancer in order to keep my cargo safe? Oh wow, I have been breaking rules since 2009 then.

I have not thought about it from a transport point of view to be honest with you.
The problem arises when two freelancers fly together and hire each other to kill someone. That is abuse.
I think you are mixing up what a bounty is and what an escort contract is.
Stop.
@nOmnomnOm I was speaking about escorting here, not claiming bounties. Also, it is not my fault there are no exact rules regarding hiring escort - except for single line in ID. Ruleset reads "Bounty Hunting & Freelancer Hire", so escort duties also do apply here.
Also, I was reffing to that statement:

Quote:4. Mercenaries, freelancers and bounty hunters may be hired on the spot in game by non-generic IDed players to assist with a combat without a forum post. The other parties involved in the combat must be made aware of this.
As far as I am concerned, this rule also applies to escort duties.
