An excellent example of this was Alley's random nomad event some time ago that led to some great RP between players from various Liberty and Rheinland player factions, and a whole slew of indies and freelancers too. I'd love to see some more stuff like this, and I agree it'd be a cool way to spice things up a little, and since Pinko pointed it out to me, I thought I'd just add my two cents.

Not just nomad stuff, either. It could be stuff like a politician/VIP requiring an escort, or a sudden pirate organisation making a move to try to take over a Liberty Rogue base or whatever, a distress signal from a ship that leaves plenty of valuable goods/ores behind. It can be anything that gives stuff for factions to play with. Nomad stuff has been done plenty, we all know Nomads are evil, we need new, fresh stuff! Something a bit more meaningful than PvE and whatnot.

Perhaps random generic groups springing up that spawn FL NPCs of some sort?

Funny enough, that was the basis for the mini event I held (With @"King Boo"'s help). I'd honestly love to do more events like these, as you mentioned. Spawning a fleet or what not is as simple as getting ingame and typing in an Admin command. For events such as requiring an escort, or something more like an event does take a little more planning (Matter of minutes/hour, to days if we want to make it complex). With that said, could keep it hush hush while we plan something, then all of a sudden it just pops up.
I think as Alley (or someone else?) said something like this would require a Game Master role - a staff position held by someone who could quickly spawn events and create scenarios on their own.

I love this idea, those events that happened in Kusari awhile ago were a lot of fun. Maybe some fun for the Taus/Gallic borderworlds or Rheinland? Would be an awesome thing to see
