Removing that line is akin to lowering the 5k cargo limit for USI, that is removing the primary reason for people to consider using the ID rather than another.
Cryer has the ability to fly 5k's, iirc, they can transport drugs and other commodities that I can't, and until this thread, had the ability to pew certain people anywhere. The only thing USI has over them is the ability to ship Ageira tech. So no, this nerf brought them to the same level that USI was already at.

Except USI hauling ore is part of it's roleplay. Cryer hauling ore isn't. And ore is the only worthwhile thing to haul.

When did ore ever become part of this discussion? That's neither here nor there, and as far as rules and ID's go, there is nothing preventing Cryer from doing the same.
Edit: In fact, if they threw in an app for access to Plat Inc, I would gladly accept it.

Cryer have a partnership with IMG and can haul ore as well, can't mine =/= can't haul ore. IC| cannot mine ore, but it's actually hauling it around all the time.
I've actually had this discussion with Karst before, and something he brought up did make sense to me regarding ore hauling. While we mostly interact with stations, the population of a station is normally around the 500-700 mark. If we look at the population of planets it's millions or billions. It's reasonable for a faction to haul ore to its house of origin. Cryer hauling Platinum would be p dumb, Cryer hauling Niobium to New Berlin is also kind of dumb. Cryer hauling Niobium to it's own factories(inrp) in Liberty? Totally fine.

Pretty much this. As a shipping company USI has the freedom to haul any imaginable cargo with RP justification.
Now Republican, USI, Gateway and Bowex are not exactly great IDs. I won't deny that. But they are a step above very specialized corporate IDs, like OS&C, Cryer, or Synth Foods.
This should be obvious when you look at faction history: No shipping company ID has consistently struggled with attracting players the way these IDs have. Hauling restricted medical commodities (which aside from human organs don't even have contraband pricing)[Edit: I have been informed this isn't even the case anymore, so they have NO advantage when it comes to commoditiy hauling] is generally possible for other corporate IDs under licensing, but even if it weren't, it's not a big player draw.
From a gameplay perspective, corporate IDs need mining ability, good diplomacy, or at the very least significant RP freedom when it comes to cargo to attract players.
OS&C, Cryer, Synth Foods and Co. have none of those and as a result, have never attracted a significant player base.
The one thing the Cryer ID did have going for them were those engagement lines which is why removing them is pretty close to removing the ID entirely.

I'm struggling to comprehend that you just posted that. Clearly you have barely any grasp of Cryer or distinct Corporate RP in general.

That's limited though and is done rarely. And actually that's just Wisp, not Cryer as a whole. It's not about if the faction can't mine or not, it's about sticking to their Corp RP. Are you going to tell John that it's his fault Synth Foods died and that he should have made them haul ore instead of actual Synth products?

IC lore itself details that IC is a shipping company that is reknown for shipping high value goods (such are ore) throughout Sirius.

I didn't see a lot Cryer players, but Wisp around recently. It's just an example that "problem" that you mentioned is not really exist.

Except we can't even do just that because I was made aware two days ago that it's illegal for Cryer to haul ore in Rheinland.
