Quote:Given 'recent' events, The Core will probably begin to stop mining Iridium for FP11 and instead we'd like to have the sell point moved to Yaren please.
Quote:Most of the Iridium mined in the captured facilities on Nauru gets transported up to Yaren and then either onto Freeport 11 or into Omicron Rho to sell it in borderworlds, edge worlds and sometimes even in the houses, or to use it in their own shipyards. Given this newfound outpost, the Core seeks to expand their grasp onto the planets resources and colonize the desert world.
Could we pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease finally see roleplay around all these dev-side changes from the factions that are involved?!
Come on. The potential is huge!
And it is an absolute no-go to play this game by dev-requests to change info-cards and sell points... without any visible forum roleplay.
I am not saying it does not make sense, BUT it is the Core's responsibility as a faction to document, explain and offer roleplay about these changes.
Badly done, and I hope it [the selling point change] gets denied unless good roleplay is offered.
Scenes that come to the mind:
> 1 thread: planetside fighting (Sairs do not just go like: Ye, my mine... here... have it.)
> 1 thread: trade agreements on how to settle this... oh... with Zoners... gg... it's a little late for that, is it?
> ... do something!
It is really sad, sad, sad to see the waste of potential!
If you want to play a "command & conquer game of taking resources to win", Disco is the wrong game for you.

If properly role-played, the strategical part may heavily influent the events and make an another huge layer of RP.
Planetside fighting:
In lore the Corsairs were abandoning Yaren, Nauru and Delta in order to (most likely) focus their efforts on fighting the Hessians in the Omegas. A planetary war for them would have been pointless, hence why the taking on Nauru is seen more as an exterminiation of the previous settlers (that hadn't jumped at the chance to leave the planet already) rather than there being any sort of war. There actually is a thread documenting the (BHG) Core's exploits on Nauru, and the Corsair official fations at the time as far as we know where aware of this RP and this was all done with the devs at the time on board too. In all honesty the Delta storyline events were pretty silly and were only done to make some activity and help promote Order activity in the lower Omicrons. From a lore pov though they make almost zero sense.
Iridium:
What more is there to say? The Zoners went hostile to The Core, so they won't have any more Iridium delivered to Freeport 11. That's pretty much it. There doesn't need to be any extravagant forum threads or roleplay regarding the sellpoint adjustment. It's just a logical, reasonable, change and conclusion due to recent events.

Stop, whut? It's exactly reverse: The Core went hostile to Zoners and started bombing Freeports. And the Cores always were rude and often aggressive towards Zoners. And, if you will read the CoF decision more clearly, you will see that Zoners just did a no-dock to Core.

The hostilities at this point are mutual. It's not like the Zoners want to be friends with us right now. Regardless, The Core would not want to supply FP11 with Iridium due to recent events.
-Also:
Can people also stop commenting on trivial things in regards to comms and how Core has roleplayed during the Delta stuff? Stop taking what the Core says so literally, it's roleplay. Speak your grievances regarding that either in game or in comms, not via spamming our feedback thread with incessant oorp whining. This isn't a loaded response directed to you specifically Cheetah, but some of the past several posts in our feedback.
Guap, you have no idea what good roleplay is and how this can be done in a cool way.
Roleplay is more than a thread in which 1 side documents how cool they are.
Roleplay by definition has more sides, more parties, more povs.
Political roleplay even has an opposition, a challenge, an interesting outcome.
Seriously, the handling of Nauru, Iridium resource struggle and how it was meant to be resolved by Core (by a small side note and a dev request) is nothing short of embarrassing.
I have an interesting suggestion that does not only keep Delta interesting, will promote activity on server, make sense and allow for roleplay. But I'll talk to someone who actually knows how to roleplay properly. So, if Core is interested, contact me. What I am actually looking for is a "gamemaster", from old pnp, who knows how to make the most out of a scenario that could be awesome, but at the moment is just wasted.
Guap, as the head of the CoF, you're wrong. Zoners don't want to be hostile/at war with Core. We want what we wanted before this all came about - peace and to be left alone and people to respect Zoner laws when around a Freeport/Zoner station.
So don't say Zoners started this and want to be hostile/at war, cause that is simply not true.
I've been wrongly assuming certain Core players who speak for Core in this thread are actual members of the official faction at least on two occasions and I do not want to make that mistake a third time. So before commenting on anything what you wrote, Guap, lemme ask you: Are you a Core HC member?
