Personally I find giving a trader a time limit to be tacky and it forces me to speed up my RP to the point that it feels watered down.
I would be all for a rule allowing me to waste the trader without fear of sanction if all they do is stall and call for help.
You don't need a rule for this since the pirate can just demand to make it snappy or else.
If you feel there is delay then it is in your move to go about threatening to hurry up or get a gun to the face.
Hostage situations are fun. I really think this is one of those cases where the rule of "Work it out yourself" applies and does not needs to be etched into stone and make our rules even MORE specific.

And that I did not tell the guy to stop whining, because that too is a demand now.

The original post, if you read, wasn't about a pirate's first interaction with any given trader. The idea was that if Trader Joe had previously called the cops on Pirate Rob in their first interaction, and two days later, Pirate Rob comes across Trader Joe again, then Pirate Rob can just waste Joe then and there for revenge -- even without issuing a demand.
Personally, I'm all for it in principle, but I'm afraid of the rules becoming too convoluted. They're already complex as is. Then again, if we simplified engagement rules across the board, this wouldn't even be an issue.
