That's an understatement!
I've seen the server crash multiple times and I haven't seen any console announcements regarding the event, not to mention that I can't find the jumphole to reach the event site!
I made 6 console messages regarding the event within the span of 30 minutes. (I counted)
The server crashed, yes. It was overloaded. Future events will be designed a tad bit differently to fix this.
The jumpholes were removed 10 minutes after the event began, as inRp, you were late - And human respawns were not allowed.

Edit: I was late because I had problems getting in-game: Freelancer crashed the first time I tried to connect to the server, the second time I got kicked because I was supposedly using an invalid account name and password, the third time I think the server might have crashed as I tried to log onto my character. My fourth or fifth try finally worked (using the same account name and password that supposedly had been invalid minutes earlier). By then, it was 18:13 (3 minutes after you closed the jumpholes), but I was in Manchester leaving Birmingham Station. I'm disappointed that I spent 14 million Sirius Credits setting up my character for this event only to be unable to participate because the server couldn't handle the load (though I'll admit that I had been thinking about creating this character for months and I will continue to play the character, so my investment isn't a total loss).
Well, there was never a chance for the Nomad side to win. It wasn't very fun and I hope this will just be forgotten like the Newcastle event. Then again, at least the effort is appreciated.
Look towards the Nomad Playerbase- Not the people who arranged the thing. I personally went out and talked to some people trying to encourage nomads and wild to participate with caps, and more of their own numbers, as have other people. There were a lot of refusals. If I were to make any effort to create some NPCs to aid the Nomads, the server would have crashed many more times than it did during the time of the event. I made every effort I could. I can only give what's within my capacity however.
I hope there are some people who enjoyed it. -KingBoo
Order was jumped 5k from Nomad armada and instant engaged before houses would even converge nearby :|
You must have gotten unlucky. Your spawn point was 15k away from the Nomads. They seemed to have gathered close to you folks though. Insta-engaging is.. a little on the questionable side i'll admit though.

I guess I called that shot. Sorry if it was lame, but I wanted your peeps out of the way to maybe level the playing field some more. Needless to say, we weren't fast enough.
Kudos to all who participated in the event, and whoever won, I want the prize -.o
The first server crash ended up lag-killing my 'host' carrier, and the second server crash killed my ship as well, so I am not sure what really happened after that.
This event could have been a lot more well done. The Order forces were nearly insta-engaged upon jumping in. The least I could do was cloak and type in system chat that we need help since the House forces were no-where near each other.
Not to mention when I logged back in I was IMMEDIATELY insta-killed by a nomad gunboat that lagged into me, literally went from full to dead in a femtosecond.
Event could have been done better, all I gotta say.
