Install the program on the desktop you are using. if it is installed on an administrator desktop and you are using it on a limited account, you get that error.
' Wrote:Hey, uhh... I've run both FAM and the installer as an admin, do have full admin rights on my system, and do have both comdlg32.ocx and comdlg32.dll in my system32 on Windows Vista. Though I still get this error, DBoy and me are teh confuzzled.

Sorry if i'm being impatient, I'd just like to use FAM, and curious if anyone knows of a solution to a strange problem such as this.
I'm happy to announce that the new version of the Freelancer Account Manager has just been released.
This is not a Beta version, nor a Release Candidate version. Its the full, final version. :yahoo:
All bugs present on the previous version have been corrected.
New Installer :yahoo:
Vista installation problems should no longer happen now. Nor the '429' ActiveX error, nor anything like that. The installer is smarter, and correctly detects the OS version and the user account rights.
A new tool has been added. It allows you to create the program special shortcuts from the program itself instead of manually. This should save time, and make things simpler to inexperienced users.
It is now possible to toggle the "account activation" and "account deletion" confirmation dialogues on or off.
New error control routine created. Its more user friendly, and creates error logs too. It will simplify the bugfixing process in the future.
