Hey, I would like to say first that I really enjoy the mod and the forums are really good for communication between players.

But I do have an issue that I would either liked to be fixed or either be explained so that I can understand the Admin's situation.

I posted my name change about 1.5 months ago. nothing has happened
I posted a name change for my other character. That was 1 month ago
I asked a question about a possible misunderstanding with a recent sanction to my character. That was completely ignored.

Is the Admin all so busy that they cant change or respond to so many things on the Forums.
I am seriously sick of having to constantly rebuy Name change certificates because of pvp deaths with pirates.

Just so I'm clear, I dont want you to think I'm having a go at you guys. I'm just a little frustrated and would like to put my mind at ease

I wouldn't worry about it. It'll come...like a nova torpedo. until then be cool.

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

Might I suggest that if in the near future you plan on changing the character names using the current system...you post a thread on announcments to players who want their named changed to start carrying NCCs. This way nccs arnt so much of a burden (I stopped carrying mine:P).

Ps. Rly like the idea of the automation. Would be sooooooooooo much easier:)

what about server police give them acess to allow name changes but make it so they have to have admin acess to do other major thingsmabye allow em not to ban but sanction and send to bastella? ps postd mine about 2 months ago still need it

And I think this is why it's a good thing there's a poll for more admins, because there is so much to do. It's been 2 weeks for me now, but I can wait, I know the admins are very busy, but it seems like I'm useless and all I can do is say what should be done better... is there anything us normal discoverers can do for the community?

Name changes are the tough nut at the moment.
It takes a lot of time to do them, and the server must be stopped while at it.

It would take around 4 hours to do all the current name changes. That is a 4 hour downtime.


I'm not supposed to say this, but I'm studying the possibility to fully automate the process, and to make it sort of player controlled. But I need to figure out how to safely edit the player files from a program first. And the most important part... I need free time. :sad:
