It's actually a great change for the VHFs. Though the missiles should be kept out, but having both MR+CD is definitely a good thing looking at the ts/tz'ing capfest this mod has become.
Just a few days ago 2 (or 3?) VHF and 2 bombers were bringing down a ts/tz'ing Solaris-GB and that took around 10minutes of focussed fire without much other action to look out for, which isn't, regardless of how you look at it, any balance at all. And that weren't unskilled pilots either.

You're free to blame that on me, as I should have communicated that better at the time and kept a closer eye on what was and wasn't pushed to the repository.
I'm not looking for someone to blame but for explanations about why and how to solve the issue, as we usually get our knowledge about the patchnotes only when we annoy you with questions ;3
If you wnt to increse the speed of snub combt, why not just up the projectile speed of guns? It wont ffect DPS (therefore wont ffect snub vs lrge combt).

PS Keybord plying up...guess which letter it is!!
increasing projectile speed removes a large ability to strafe (which is 85% of all snub battles) and the end result would be the ship that can either out-tank/out-DPS the other one winning.
Edit Alpha: I think that is the reason the SOLARIS codename no longer has 1500m/s projectile speed and instead just has more range.

So request for the old version to be loaded up until stuff is properly covered in a patch? ))
An irony of this is that it kind of dragged me, Haste, and probably some other developers out of a slump we were in and forced us to get back to work and keep a closer eye on what our trainees are doing. A revert is very unlikely, if anything you can expect to see the aux weapons implemented correctly very shortly.

A reasonable point, but doesnt explain 2.0 rate guns with 600 speed, favoured over 8.33 750 guns?
So who uses 8.33 weapons these days?
EDIT: 1500 is extreme for a fighter gun! BUt what about an increase for 8.33 rate guns? Remember unlike a 2.0 gun you have to maintain your aim on target for much longer in order to do teh same DPS

the 2.0s are 600/s for a reason. It prevents people not being able to dodge massive damage salvos and encourages 'shotgunning' if you are close enough to be shotgunned, you deserved to be hit.
8.33s are great for new people as they don't have that good of aim yet (unless HCC) and they maintain their usefulness until they player learns/wants to operate more damaging shots. It's better to get in one small hit alot of times instead of one huge hit never. I for one use use 8.33s on my Liberator because its hard to run from 8.33s on a ship that's faster than you. Makes a great burst weapon.
Yes, low refire for frontal shotgun, high refire for pursuit. Does that still account for the overall trend towards slower refire guns? I know the Skyblast B was changed down to a 4.0 gun, and the new Kusari Cleanser aint 8.33 no more either. I think there is more to it then you are saying sir.
