First of all i've always been a huge fan of both the MCMMO plugin and some of the economy ones.

For those that dont know mcmmo effectively adds skill levels to things like archery / smithing etc

The economy one makes it so that players can set up a chest to sell or buy items for x amount of w/e name you give the currency. The only sort of issue with this is you need a way to get people currency originally to use. Servers i've seen solved this by setting it up so that a crate somewhere would just infinitely buy gold for x amount

I also think if possible PVP and the like should be disabled for the overworld but enabled for both the nether and the end.

One pack i always seemed to come back to was the Technic + Tekkit packs. They were very entertaining since they were mostly science based instead of waving wooden sticks and saying abra kadabra

Maybe you could use a custom terrain generator if it's vanilla. This preset recreates Beta terrain which had more variety and interesting land formations.

The only issues I had with it were ocean biomes not being ocean most of the time, causing monuments to spawn underground and the biome size being 2 instead of 4. But the latter can be fixed.

im currently in a little spare time creating a mod for minecraft that enable you to have a lot more food

eg

burgers
chicken sandwich/ legs/ nuggets
fried eggs +sandwich
cheese +sandwich
bacon +eggs = eggs and bacon

ill post a full list later tonight

perhaps the mod could be included?
