you do nothing but buttcloak players after 2 or 3 lines, one example here: http://imgur.com/a/E9NuG , and have not made an attempt to even try the current meta of gameplay, and you constantly complain when people use nothing but mortars against you, and you don't even try to adapt. Your input is only to benefit your butt cloaking habits so far, unless ingame you begin to prove the community wrong.

You have had little experience with capital ships right now, the topic of this is primarily battleship Cerberus turrets, cerbs of that BS class not lower. What you like may seem radical when you notice you actually dont have much experience in capital ships of the current meta or past meta.

buff the neph. please
The Nephilm irp is not a war ship, it is an exploration colonisation ship if i remember correctly,
Although i do agree, in its current state, it might been a buff if the devs want it to be used for combat.
Sorry for my critique widow and DeadeyeBlades, But i had to bring this up.
Just to clarify, I am for the old style of long range cerb combat
I like the old cerbs I have been using them before you even existed on here. I have tried to the new meta of gameplay on Illustre who you fought. I adapted and could get better but mortar has never been my thing. I like long range cerbs.
I have nothing to prove to any community member even you, to me you are just another recent player thinking / acting like you know it all when you don't!
You are not god, you are but flesh and blood. I have nothing to prove to you or this community. So please drop the line.
As for butt cloaking you have even done it in fights where I was decloaked so don't spin that crock of shiz on us.
I butt cloak as a tactic to over come the stupid ts tactics light/medium bs engage in staying out range, cerbs will cut that risk in half and even the odds.
Fact is if long range cerbs are brought back your whole game play will fall apart as mortars will be rendered useless.

The Valor is still great, in fact the BS which I feel the safest in. It's just that I train the BAF to fight them, and no one trains the GRN to fight Dunkirks

Solaris cruisers or razor battleships are still a huge threat to anything smaller than a cruiser, and are the absolute best way to deal with them. Try it out sometimes, you can't have a loadout that's the best against everything. I can personally tell you I've seen people razor multiple snubs on their battleships (hello Thunderer) as well as dry bombers quickly with solarises or instakill with a mortar.
I'm sure the community appreciates every battleship that comes with an anti-snub loadout to a fight. Holy eff, I'd like to slap you for that kind of attitude. Battleships aren't ment to fight snubs, nor are snubs ment to fight battleships. Solarises are kind of useless against ANYONE who knows how to fly a snub/bomber, and throwing battleships at snubs is pretty much something you criticised me one year ago. Make up your mind, please.

togo is the problem? not really, its worse compared to other light battleships cant fire 2 heavies to front and backward, only broadside
problem is, tokugawa is heavy bs and togo is light bs
heavy battleships good when you have cloak or EK to a target
While the topic is sensitive and it is rather understandable that all of your views will not synch up - as in, it would be foolish to even consider they would, it would be still nice to keep the air of civility during times like this. If you cannot maintain a tone and resort to personal attacks, do not post at all maybe.

The Valor is still okay to fly because of its thin shape, but still looses to medium and light caps, as duels between other players in conn showed me. That people more likely buy a Gallic battlecruiser now because they can't do much with a valor against bretonian fleets is a fact. And now the Dunkirks still loose battles because battlecruisers are something they haven't "trained" to handle. Although I must say that the gallic battlecruiser is actually neither too weak nor too strong, but well balanced. I can kill experienced bc players with the most of my caps, and if I can do so with a valor, then it is even easier with a smaller cap like the dunkirk. To thunderes statement he feels safest in a valor. I haven't seen you flying the Tonnant for ages, only the other players which the Tonnant is shared with. But I don't really wonder you like the actual cap combat. It favors your beloved Dunkirks.
Anyway, the topic are the cerbs. I am fighting dunkirks very often with a valor and never it's been so difficult to win. The buff for the grn primary turrets is small and deserved, but now when I kill a dunkirk player in a duel, they're saying the grn primary turrets are just op and need to be nerfed, while I use a double missle trebuchet setup and see them winning easily against other valors with cerb setups.
I don't even log my other heavy battleships anymore for battles since there are none because people can't handle this mortar 'meta' with their heavy battleships and if you take 2 light or medium battleships to fight it will take ages to come to a result since they can't hit each other often enough with mortars or prims.
The past battles that I have participated in were the New London raids with wesker where we won thanks to simple cruising up on the kirks butts, which is kinda the same as buttcloaking with the difference that you are easier being CDed. Another recent fight in Leeds, 3 dunkirks and on the grn side 2 battlecruiser and 1 valor (me). I was not able to damage the dunkirks (not that I would've been with old cerbs either) and played the bait so that the 2 battlecruiser could pick the dunkirks one by one effortlessly. It was a boring battle and the result was predictable.
With the old cerbs we had more battles and more fun. Either bring them back or find something else that provides fun for all capship players. I heard somethign about broadside combat? Well this will be difficult to balance aswell, looking at battleships such like tokugawa with their giant height and length

Are you alright? Where did I say "rush your solaris razor battleships into snubfights, it's great fun!" exactly? I was merely saying what tools battleships have available to primarily defend themselves against snubs, and if you had no weapons good at that, you have no right to complain you're useless against snubs. Also, I was mostly referring to cruiser solarises, I am aware that battleship solarises aren't popular despite getting a buff not so long ago. You need to calm down.
Edit: A great example is Thunderer's kirk. He has two razors on it, but uses them strictly in self defense and is quite successful with them against snubs, gunboats and sometimes cruisers.
Thunderer has access to many kirks. The Sovereign, the Thunderer, the Dauntless. He didn't have to pay for them. Other people have to, they can't bring their battleships depending on the situation. What you suggest it people making anti-snub battleships for the case of them being needed in case of them getting attacked by snubs!?
[Insert your favourite Tom Cruise laughter meme here]
That's not how battleships work. You don't make a battleship and equip it with anti-snub loadout IN CASE OF THEM ATTACKING THE CAPITAL. Why the hell would you even log that? Only for the very rare team fights where one side sends in more snubs against the side that has more battleships? Since when do people do that? They'd simply switch to snubs as well. No, battleships are to be used to cause damage in great amounts. Usually against other capitals and PoBs, but less often against cruisers because of in this thread mentioned issues and almost never against gunboats or snubs. Anti-snub capitals are either something an absolute lolwut would log to get cheap blues or something you log in pre-planned event fights where that is a legit role. Otherwise, brining a capital with AS loadout would be the biggest waste both of money and potential in a fight. That is how the community currently works. It's like saying the pope could technically have intercourse.
I'd consider the old Cerberuses back, at least it could bring the Battleships the feeling of a Warship it meant to be. To be honest, I've done some experiments in Single Player and shooting slow, but rapid and powerful weapons feels way better than firing them at short range. So what do I propose? Give BS Cerbs some relevant stats for a Warship Weaponry. 650 ms speed, 1 sec refire and 3500 range could be a OK. Consider the diseprsion angle to be more realistic.

No silly, you use razors mainly against gunboats. Gunboats participate in cap fights often, and the only reliable counter to them are razors. Of course they're strictly a defensive weapon. You can't really chase something that's faster than you and decides not to fight you. However, if you start getting shot by a couple of gunboats and even bombers, will you suddenly not use them or what? What kind of logic are you trying to apply here? Remove razors, solarises and any anti-gunboat and less weapon in the game? Because that's what you're saying from the thread. "You shouldn't use anti-smaller classes loadout so they shouldn't exist. How dare you use them!!!" How the hell are you supposed to do -anything- against bombers and gunboats then exactly?
I have a feeling you missed the part where even if you mount razors, you are still very useful against caps with 1 mortar and primaries (in the Dunkirk example). You don't actually lose that much against caps while having great defense against smaller things. It's actually surprising people don't use them more with the mortar meta not requiring more than 2 heavies occupied. Although I guess that'd disappear with old cerbs coming back.
