Good day, Guild member. This handbook has been given to you by the nearest Guild professor, security chief, or mining chief, anyone. I wrote this "code of conduct"
after my family has taken over the Guild, to ensure, that each and every one of you follows these guidelines the way I set them and do your best to ensure that the Guild has a long and golden fortune ahead. The use of your own head, your individual thoughts and your will to progress with every step is highly encouraged, don't stay silent. If you have a concern, speak out, or it might be sufferable for the whole Guild. If you find a mistake within the guidelines or anything about us that can damage the Guild, report it or fix it by yourself, be a member that we are proud to have.
In this document, you will find basic rules of behaving, it is mostly concentrated on "how do I react, if...?" scenarios, where your decisions are to be clear and fast-paced. The Guild has many opposers, but only a few very dangerous enemies, those enemies we have, though, are extremely dangerous. As you are accepted into the Guild, you automatically agree with obeying the guidelines in here and you are obliged to read them. If a punishment is not defined under a defined violation, the Guildmistress will decide the punishment by herself.
Chapter 1: Behavior towards other Guild members
No, I am not telling you to treat them like your brethren like some idiotic and idealistic movements nowadays do. Every Guild member is supposed to see another Guild member as a colleague. However, this colleague has to help you at any time, just like you have to help him or her at any time. The Gas Miners Guild functions like a very well oiled machine and each dysfunction is not a problem, as long as it is being fixed by all that can.
1.1 You are to be respectful to every Guild member, no matter what their past is, their political alignment is, their religion or skin color is, in the end, they found to the Guild like you and chase their dreams together with us, which makes you not so different in the end.
1.2 You are to obey the orders of a higher ranked Guild member at all times, however, the orders you receive may always be questioned and discussed, unless it is in a situation whereas slow handling would threaten other Guild members. For example, if I, as the Guildmistress give you an order in a safe place, you may ask why and what this is for, you may doubt the efficiency and disclose your own ideas, maybe you are a hidden genius that saves us from certain death. Should we be in a combat situation, though, you shall not disobey any order, while I enjoy free-thinking members, I cannot take care of bold and undisciplined misbehaving know-it-all's when surviving the most important thing to care about in the certain situation.
1.3 You are to report any misbehavior of a guild member, that will prevent you and possibly even them from being severly punished. While smaller punishments have to occur for rule-breakers, they will, in the end, be thankful you told us about their misbehavior. If you would not have, maybe this member would be banned from the Guild. Sometimes, caring for your Guild colleagues requires being unfaithful to the unspoken oath of privacy even while misbehaving.
1.4 You are to help to develop a healthy atmosphere within the guild as much as you can by offering your help, giving advice to Guild colleagues or anything you can think of. Disregarding this rule is not a punishable, because we cannot read your mind, but if you are free of any envy or hate, you are probably not going to disregard it.
1.5 To ensure that the position of the Guildmistress still is one that allows me to maintain order, the most important rule that concerns all of the ones above.
You may never, under any circumstances, abuse the privileges of free expression of your mind (in most cases) or the questioning of authority for a personal gain or for the harming of the Guild. To ensure that there is nothing unclear of measuring this abuse, I will personally decide, whether you abuse a right, or if you do not.
Chapter 2: Behavior towards our allies
I cannot, ever, be bothered with Guild members, that behave so disrespectful towards our allies and associates. It will cost me time and nerves, and it will cost us money, money that I will take from your account. The next rules you will read are common business sense, so I expect you not to be stupid enough to disregard them.
2.1 You are to be respectful towards our allies and associated at all times. Your right to question decisions are revoked for this, as this will be my job, you are, however, allowed, to question the decisions I made but only to me, not the associate.
2.2 If an ally, that has a de-jure position above you, despite not being in the Guild, tells you to do them a favor, you will not discuss and simply follow their order, if it is going against your personal rights, I will handle the discussion with the associate by myself.
2.3 You are to offer our allies and associates shelter and security, within a base or on a planet, as well as in space as much as you can. If the situation is fitting and if it would not show a sign of disrespect, you may ask the associate or ally for a small payment for your services. If they decline, you must accept it and still offer them your help as good as you can.
2.4 You are not to disrupt an ongoing talk between a Guild member (of any rank) and a business associate. Allies are another case, as the economy of the Guild is not necessarily endangered. You still are to try not to disrupt any ongoing conversation about business or militaristic strategies, unless you can positively contribute to the outcome.
Chapter 3: Behavior towards our enemies
The previous Guild administrations were mixed on the attitude towards enemies of the Guild within and without our territory. Under my lead, we will be one thing: aggressive. Most of our enemies are stubborn, selfish and won't act the way we wish and abuse our kindness, not anymore.
3.1 You are to demand the cargo of every Kruger Minerals or Samura Heavy Industries affiliated vessel within our territory without exception. If the enemy refuses, you are to shoot him down relentlessly, which will shove the respect in their throats. If the cargo of the enemy is of no worth for the Guild, or if you are not in a vessel that is made for carrying cargo, you are to demand a reasonable amount of credits as a fine from this ship.
3.2 If an enemy security ship is spotted within our territory, you are to question it and shoot it down afterward. If this action is too rough in certain situations, which depends on your personal view, sending them out of our territory is allowed, but not encouraged. If the enemy refuses to leave, after you suggested it, you have to use force.
3.3 You are to ignore any enemy of the guild outside of our territory, should they be suicidal enough to attack you, you attack back, should they decide to simply talk to you, you do not answer them. If you see the enemies of any kind attacking an allied or neutral ship you are to defend them, not necessarily for the sake of the attacked party but for the pleasure of shooting down our enemies.
3.4 You are to report any Guild member trying to appease the enemy without exceptional permission of the Guildmistress or Guildmaster. Doing this by yourself is a reason to ban you from the Gas Miners Guild, making you an enemy of our organization.
Chapter 4: Behavior towards civilians and other tolerated trespassers
Being radically aggressive towards our enemies is being equalized by the behavior you are to encounter trespassers of our territory with, that have not yet been expelled from it, or marked as enemies.
4.1 You are to be respect- and helpful towards any civilian, Freelancer or neutral corporate party that crosses your paths. Asking them for escorts is not a duty, yet, a gesture of politeness and a potential income source.
4.2 You are to protect any tolerated party within our territory and outside of it as much as you can, as long as it does not interfer with a possible important schedule, failure to provide this will not be punished, we cannot look out for everyone.
4.3 You are to propagate the Guild's business opportunities which might get us a potential business partner in the future, the way you use here is up to yourself. Failure to do so will not be punished.
4.4 You are to demand any GMG-manufactured equipment within our territory and attack the ship if it does not comply.
Chapter 5: Behavior towards Rheinland authorities
While we are not at war anymore, I do not tolerate any ship of the Rheinland Military, the Marinenachrichtendienst or BDM, or of the Rheinland Federal Police at any time, unless specifically invited by the Guildmaster or Guildmistress.
5.1 You are to ban any of the listed parties from GMG space as soon as possible and attack them if they do not comply.
5.2 You are to report any of such incidents. Failure to do so will be punished.
Chapter 6: Loans, salaries, taxes
Self-explanationary, read below.
6.1 You are to pay 25% of any profit you make while being in service to the Guild, which will be collected and used for the common well-being. The money is to be sent to the account GMG|Bank. Failure to do so will be punished with seizing more money off your account or a ban from the Guild, which will mark you as an enemy.
6.2 Every month, you will report your worked hours and will be paid for them. 1-hour work equals 10 million sirian credits. If you do not request the payment
or do not report your worked hours, you may not be paid, depending on the decision of the Guildmistress. On providing evidence of a sent demand of your salary, you may demand the respective salary after the month, in case the account has not paid you.
6.3 You are allowed to request loans from the bank account. This requires a signed guarantee that the money will be repaid within 2 months with an additional 15% tax on it.
6.4You are to report every attempt to sabotage this process, which will be awarded additional credits. Failure to do so, while evidence of you being able to have done so is provided, will cause you to be punished together with the original violator.
