The interface began speaking, though it was fairly monotone in its delivery.
"Hello, and welcome to setup for your CTX-11 Cybermetric Analogue Endoskeleton. Please follow the on-screen display to reconfigure lost software."
The marine taped the holographic interface, spurting a new bout of dialogue. "This CTX-11 CAE is currently unoccupied. Previous occupant, registered as 'Lyncis', was lost following a critical cybernetics failure, resulting in data on AI Core F-4, installed in slot 73, to cease function and initiate data wipe. No backup detected."
"You killed her!" yelled one of the marines to the leader. He looked at Nicole, a little bewildered.
"Wait here you three." Nicole said, departing. After her return, she seemed to have some equipment of her own, beginning to hack into the software and fully explore what's inside. "Let's take a peek inside, I'm sure something was left over.. Since you killed her, go get me another cup of coffee while I work." She said, focusing on her hacking.
The automated process the body was putting out continued, the interface awaiting input. On the inside was a barren empty wasteland of space, Lyn's entire consciousness gone, replaced by a small hardcoded boot-up sequence. Aside from the program displaying the interface itself, tampering with anything wouldn't yield much. The program was fairly resistant to any attempts to peek inside.
"Right.."
He walked off, fetching her what she requested.
"Damn it.. now I'll never get the answers I wanted.." She disconnected and packed up her own equipment, not determined enough to crack the programs code, instead choosing to half interestedly mess around with the interface while waiting for her coffee.
The interface at first seemed simplistic, but upon a few taps of certain buttons that took her to random places, she'd find herself amidst a mess of coding and diagnostics specifics.

The marine soon came back with her coffee, eyeing the interface. "The hell'd you do?"
"Well you killed her so now I'm fixing her.." She input Lyncis for the name, selecting 'White' for follicle pigment, Amber for Iris pigment, Fair for Epidermis pigment, Enable automatic processing and Custom UI.
With the selections made, the battered synth's hair began to fade from the roots down into a white color, eventually flushing fully into it. The eyes, which had been open due to the program, faded into a more amber color, and the skin began to shift a bit into a more fair-toned medium.
The eyes blinked a couple times, but the body remained motionless. As the rest of the data was configured, there were a few more options listed on the interface...

Phase Two - Initializing
Nicole selected Kusari for both, military as yes, police as no, then let the configuration adjust. "This is.. quite interesting.. not everyday I get to mess around with something like this.. What are these even for...?"
Selecting 'KUSARI' for both options may cause personality loopbacks.
Recommend change to one to prevent loyalty mishaps and future issues with AI programming software change Beta v0.7b.
"Oh Christ that's loyalty, why can't it say what those options are for?" She selected no and readjusted to Liberty as primary, Kusari secondary, leaving the military option as is., then waited for the new confirmation window.
