WE've had Mascius shifting a few supplies to Liberty's finest down in Bering there,
he had to detoured to SJ with a few loose loads and seen there's about a good
quarter of Hardware that Ortega brought in while back, a nice lucky find,
we'll trade a little off to Bering with returns for Alloys, it'll help upkeep while we're on.
Ahoy Congress, Decaf here, with an FYI of some importance
A base attack message against the LSF base in PR (Dagger Complex) was
transmitted from an unknown source( possibly Unioner connected?).
This will increase the LSF/LN and their allies presence in PR and surrounding Systems.
Suggest using extreme caution.
It also might be wise to stock JunkersTown with extra repair supplies, the LSF have shown they
can not be trusted many times.
Howdy there, Congressfolk! I'm hopin' this message finds ya'll well.
I'd like to make a case of sorts to ya'll, based on current events taking place in both Bering and Bretonia.
Recently, the Congress received a communication from the Alster Union in the form of a claim. This claim has them figurin' that they own exclusive rights 'ta the Military-grade Salvage left over from the war between Rheinland and Liberty.
Now, I ain't normally much've one 'ta go causin' trouble amongst piratical sorts. I'm usually A-OK with makin' contributions 'ta yer odd-ball pirate tryin' to make a livin' amongst the lanes.
But I feel that this situation is different. Trafalgar lies in shambles, an' Gallia is 'ta blame. This gives us a strong reason 'ta stick it 'ta the Gallic war machine by supplying the Bretonians with some Military Salvage from Bering.
We owe it 'ta Trafalgar 'ta give Gallia some grief, an' we've a second motivation, too - By shipping Military Salvage to Bretonia, not only will we be coming off as helpful to their war efforts, but Liberty ought'a be pleased, as well. Y'see, it probably won't be long until Liberty gets interested in moving some assets into Bering and retrieving some've that salvage, an' I'll bet my bottom credit that Liberty's gonna claim that the Military Salvage in Bering is theirs - Which, it technically halfway is, bein' that half'a the salvage's probably Liberty hardware, anyways. So, instead've riskin' ourselves bein' caught in illegal salvage operations, why not take some initiative and let Liberty know "Hey, we got this for 'ya."
By taking a stance against the Alster Union, we stand to gain Bretonia's and Liberty's favor. This in turn'll likely get Liberty an' even Deep Space Engineerin' on our side too, possibly even the Bretonian Merchant Navy! I'll admit that Battlegroup Harmony might be a minor issue, but they're pro-Liberty at heart, and as long as we make it clear to everyone that we want to haul that Salvage from Bering to Bretonia, that means we're taking an anti-Gallic stance, which in my mind is a win-win all 'round!
In short, my vote is to tell the Alster Union that WE are the salvage experts, not them. This'll likely get them to target our salvage boats, but we ain't no strangers to a scrap. In case there's doubt, we'cn partner up with DSE to further drive the point home that we're gonna be gettin' things done, whether the Union likes it or not.
I spoke with Nick Ramsey about this, and he gave me permission 'ta share our conversation regarding the recent turn of events. Take a look!

[14.03.2018 17:19:13] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Evenin' miss!

[14.03.2018 17:19:55] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: I'm Sandra, by the way - Sandra Carter! I'm a fresh face 'round the Congress.
[14.03.2018 17:20:04] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Not too shabby, Been helping out around the shipyard mostly.
[14.03.2018 17:20:27] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: My names Nick Ramsey, Pleasure to meet you. And welcome to the family!
[14.03.2018 17:20:54] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: That's fine dandy of 'ya, I reckon. This place seems uh, a bit shambly?
[14.03.2018 17:21:37] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Say, have 'ya seen that transmission from them Unioner folks on the neural net? About the military hardware in Bering?
[14.03.2018 17:21:54] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Yeah theres been alot of needed mantinece needed to be done. And as a matter of fact I have!
[14.03.2018 17:22:39] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Wha'dya think of that? I'm kinda chompin' at the bit to reach out to Liberty an' Bretonia about it. 'Fore I joined the ->
[14.03.2018 17:23:11] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Congress, I was with Universal. I still consider Liberty my home, and Gallia... Well, they're not only knockin' on Liberty's
[14.03.2018 17:23:33] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: doorstep, but they've gone and made a mess've Trafalgar, too. I'd love to get into Bering and start salvaging.
[14.03.2018 17:23:45] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: But, them Unioners are an obstacle.
[14.03.2018 17:24:15] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Its an absolute terrible thing what they'd done to our brothers and sisters over there. And since you asked-
[14.03.2018 17:25:08] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: I dont appreciate them trying to tax us for something thats not exactly any of their business. And youd suggest -
[14.03.2018 17:26:08] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: - selling to the war effort..? Mhh.. Itd be a good start for a sort of 'revenge' for Trafalgar... The war effort needs all the-
[14.03.2018 17:26:25] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Help it can get.. I mean theyre already trying to drive stakes between the houses..
[14.03.2018 17:26:50] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: I'd make that suggestion, wholeheartedly! This also puts us in a positive light in both Bretonia's and Liberty's governments.
[14.03.2018 17:27:29] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Word about that salvage bein' ripe for pickin' is likely to spark some interest from Liberty's corporations, as well. If we
[14.03.2018 17:27:30] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Lord knows we could use that positive light sometimes
[14.03.2018 17:28:00] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: comply with the Unioner's demands, that.. Might be taken as negative to Liberty, since we'd be funding their efforts.
[14.03.2018 17:28:24] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: I mean, I get it - pirates got to make a livin', too.
[14.03.2018 17:28:37] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: But what're pirates gonna do with *military* grade hardware?
[14.03.2018 17:28:52] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: I ain't a fan've them havin' free control over that.
[14.03.2018 17:29:14] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Oh who knows. Im sure itll be sold out to the other pirate factions or kept for themselves.
[14.03.2018 17:29:39] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: If we try and side with the Liberty and Bretonian war effort then they may offer us some protection aswell..
[14.03.2018 17:29:54] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: *She hums in thought*
[14.03.2018 17:30:15] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Even if it means partnering up for convoys with Libertonian companies, ya know?
[14.03.2018 17:30:16] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: I know that Harmony's Bristol Depot has been offering to pay for Military Salvage, as well.
[14.03.2018 17:30:29] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: They're another potential obstacle, but...
[14.03.2018 17:30:44] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: If we're moving the goods to Bretonia, would they mind that?
[14.03.2018 17:31:31] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: They might mind it less than bringing it right to Liberty, yeah. Debatably Bretonia could use it more effectively..
[14.03.2018 17:31:41] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: That is with Gallia closing in on New London
[14.03.2018 17:31:58] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: That's what I'm thinkin', yeah. Honestly? Movin' the goods to Bretonia is a win-win situation.
[14.03.2018 17:32:24] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Bretonia gets help against the Gallic war machine, and we get to stick it to those screw ups who messed with Trafalgar.
[14.03.2018 17:32:51] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Harmony most likely lets us get away with it, since they're ultimately pro-Liberty, and thus, anti-Gallia.
[14.03.2018 17:33:05] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Probably, same case if we bump into the Hellfire Legion.
[14.03.2018 17:33:38] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Indeed... It may be our most peaceful option and most beneficial to go with Bretonia as a destination. Though we would
[14.03.2018 17:33:39] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Then, if Deep Space gets in on the salvage efforts, we've got a few folks to depend on for symbiotic defense efforts!
[14.03.2018 17:33:47] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Still need to deal with the Unioners
[14.03.2018 17:34:16] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Aye, that. Really... By telling the Unioners to kiss off, they're really the *only* group we truly have to worry over.
[14.03.2018 17:35:07] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: We make it clear to them that *we* are the scrap specialists, and if they don't like it, well, they'll get over it, I reckon.
[14.03.2018 17:35:14] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Or, they won't.. And they cause us trouble.
[14.03.2018 17:35:41] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: *She pauses* I wonder if the Junker Marauders would stand with us.
[14.03.2018 17:35:56] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Seeing as benifiting Bretonia will be good for Liberty anyways, we still may get support from Libertys companies
[14.03.2018 17:36:05] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Ya know.... Its worth a shot to contact them.
[14.03.2018 17:36:58] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Should I reach out to Deep Space and Universal, then? Or should we bring up this conversation with the rest of the
[14.03.2018 17:37:00] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Congress, first?
[14.03.2018 17:37:52] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: I would bring it up with Congress first, make your suggestions, which are solid at that. Then with their support-
[14.03.2018 17:38:21] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: We could send an official transmission to the Marauders. Which may deter the Unioners abit aswell
[14.03.2018 17:40:01] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: All right. Are 'ya swell with me sharin' this conversation with the Congress-only Message Channel?
[14.03.2018 17:40:12] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: If so, I'll get right on things!
[14.03.2018 17:40:52] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick: Absolutely! Id love to see if we can go through with this. Youll have my support on this.
[14.03.2018 17:41:28] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Thank 'ye kindly, I sure do appreciate it! Say, what was yer name, again?
[14.03.2018 17:42:22] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Nick Ramsey. Ill hope to see you around more often aswell. Im planning on making Scrap runs before we dig into this Military
[14.03.2018 17:42:27] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: Scrap ordeal aswell
[14.03.2018 17:43:20] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Nick - Okay, Nick, it's a pleasure to make yer acquaintance! I'll try to be aroun' more often. Fer now, I'm gonna get 'ta work!
[14.03.2018 17:43:29] .:j:.Sandra's.Bunkhouse: Again, thank 'ye kindly!
[14.03.2018 17:43:52] .:j:.Drifter's.Fortune: No problem. Nice meetin ya' aswell! Take care!
If we take a stance against the Union, I'm fully prepared 'ta reach out 'ta Deep Space Engineerin' an' Bretonia's Merchant Navy 'ta see if they'll help us in both the salvage an' haulin' of the hardware in Bering. Gallia is causin' a mess fer Junker, Bretonia an' Liberty alike. It's time we cause a mess fer them, and dang any second-rate Union scrappers that think'r gonna get in the way've that.
What say ya'll?
Do we play along with the Alster Union an' let 'em take our money - Our dignity?
Or, do we show Sirius that us Junkers are the ones to go to when it comes to hazardous salvage?
Elements of the Maltese Navy referring to themselves as D.I.E. have been mooring with Rochester Base on a consistent basis; partly to use the station's shielding as cover during periods when their sweeping raids through New York draw too much attention, and partly to avail themselves to Rochester's stores when their supplies run low. They have been doing this heedless of law enforcement presence.
At 2220 hours my pilot, with my approval, attempted to stop the flotilla from repeating this when pursued by a Liberty Navy bomber wing. His repeated hails were acknowledged and disregarded.
The continued abuse of the station's neutral-access docks, maintained for distressed and disabled craft brought by tugs, was witnessed by both the Liberty Naval response and a roving Xeno bomber craft attracted by the scuffle.
He, with my approval, opened fire on the Dreadnaughts in defense of Rochester.
Unfortunately, in spite of an unlikely attack from three fronts - 5th Squadron, The Xeno Alliance and my heavy bomber picket - the three capitals again nestled into moor points that would threaten our living quarters if directly assaulted.
I will not go into detail about how such actions threaten the future of Rochester, the beating heart of the Junker ethos and the linchpin of our entire operation. Particularly not after the horrors we all witnessed in New London.
The operation in Minor progresses. This is the first yield of a subtle effort, an effort that few of us believed would bear harvest. Yet it is fragile and must be tended.
I am reminded of years past. Yanagi Depot stood astride the graves of the Crow Nebula. Amid our task, we walked a razor's edge. People of Malta and Crete, Hessians. Chrysanthemums. It was a harbor used by all, and thus protected by all. It stood in spite of its position as a harbor to enemies from all corners of Sirius. It simply was more valuable intact. More convenient as a point of neutrality, than a prize to be pulled at by hungry dogs. Even the prior leadership of the GMG saw use in its continued existence.
The Wild themselves were turned aside by the machine we had set in motion.
A generation has passed. Again we are called upon, as those who can draw renewal from cataclysm. To fuel the fires of new war from the ashes of old war. Again we must cultivate the balance of power lest power sweep us aside.
And power here is great.
Already we receive threats. Our council must decide soon on a response to the... diplomatic missive from the Core.
Again I remember Yanagi. My agent sends this:

Hello. Rell here.
First off, keep this stuff to yourselves, Junkers.
We'll want to be quick about this.
You know how I am working on that little project there? Yeah. I wanted to take a quick break. While I was flyng through Bering, my scanners went berserk. Took me a moment to regain control, but I managed. I found a new jump hole.
It is unstable, difficult to traverse. I wouldn't bet on anything bigger than a freighter getting through.
But it leads someplace new.
Or should I say, someplace old? Very, very old.
It is a system, not too many light years from Bering itself.
It contains two planets. One is a full gas giant, another one is a mere remnant, also of a gas giant. Seems like they collided and one came out the victor while the other has been dying for who knows how many hundred years.
According to the coalition vessel, yes, coalition vessel, that I met in there, it is also connected to Galileo through a similarly flimsy jump connection.
And it contains a wreck.
An old wreck. According to the black box, it looks to be an old Rheinlandic prototype vessel from the year 96 AS, sporting a Liberty engine.
Imagine if we could get that thing out of there and present it to Rheinland as a present. Or keep it for ourself. Who knows.
I don't think that this place will stay open for long. After all, the connections have opened only recently. And the house of Rheinland seemed to know about this spot at some time in the past, even if that was hundreds of years ago.
So we gotta hurry. Are there any people here who would be able to help me refurbish that thing, install a jump drive and get it over to Puerto Rico, where we can repair it properly?
I'll add files below.
<span style="font-family:Lucida Console"><span style="color:#33CC00">*personality core activated*</span>
Science consists of stating the obvious and linking the facts. </span>
I was scally-wagging around Frankfurt looking for a supplier of Aluminium Ore. Have a BIG contract with a known group in Edinburgh - (wink, wink, say no more).
Came across a person who owns a store there, and he "might" be open to selling it. Gonna get it for a steal! Good nick, core two, heaps of storage, and above all no radiation damage!
So, I was thinkin' of buying it and relocating it close to our Junker lads in New Berlin. Diversifying our portfolio is a good thing... and lots to be made!
∎∎∎ ⋙ About: Interesting Encounter with a Liberty Intel Agent
I was contacted by an agent of the Liberty Intelligence Agency [LIA] about taking on a friend of theirs as a crew member. Apparently their friend needs to get outta Liberty.
[12.07.827 05:47:38] [LIA]-Sickle: Greetings! When you're in Liberty space, could you pick a civilian named Jiraki from Planet Houston?
[12.07.827 05:48:31] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I wouldn't mind doing that, but I won't be in Liberty anytime soon.
[12.07.827 05:48:55] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: perhaps you intended to ask someone else?
[12.07.827 05:49:12] [LIA]-Sickle: It's fine, whenever you have time
[12.07.827 05:49:47] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: where would Jiraki want to go?
[12.07.827 05:50:10] [LIA]-Sickle: He wish to serve on a junker ship
[12.07.827 05:51:18] [LIA]-Sickle: I know him personally, he know how to use repaire tools
[12.07.827 05:52:27] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: That's a useful skill indeed. Has he spent time outside of house space.. I'm frequently on the edge of human space
[12.07.827 05:52:58] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: and it's not like we could just drop him home if he becomes homesick
[12.07.827 05:53:41] [LIA]-Sickle: Won't be a problem, he's tired of Liberty truth being told, but I'd wish for that to remaine between us
[12.07.827 05:54:22] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I see.. may I ask what the LIA stands for? I'm unfamiliar with your transponder tag
[12.07.827 05:55:21] [LIA]-Sickle: LIA stands for Liberty Intelligence Agency, but Mr. Jiraki isn't part of our structure
[12.07.827 05:58:30] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: while I, myself, don't have issue with law enforcement.. I expect you can imagine how some could be concerned
[12.07.827 05:58:45] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: having a recommendation from one such as yourself.
[12.07.827 05:59:16] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I do sometimes find myself in "rough" company. I'd hate for your friend's safety to be compromised.
[12.07.827 05:59:43] [LIA]-Sickle: I understand your concern, but be sure there won't be any problems
[12.07.827 06:01:02] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I must admit I'm intrigued. It's not that I haven't taken on crew from unconditional places, but we junkers are wary
[12.07.827 06:02:01] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: Perhaps ironically, the fact that you're open about your own proffession is less suspicious than it would be otherwise.
[12.07.827 06:02:14] [LIA]-Sickle: Maybe I could prove my sincerity with a transaction?
[12.07.827 06:02:41] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: That's not the issue. Trust is more valuable than any amount of credits.
[12.07.827 06:02:54] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: and I need to be able to trust my crew implicitly
[12.07.827 06:03:02] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: all our lives depend on it
[12.07.827 06:03:47] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: what is your relation to Jiraki that you'd solicit work for him?
[12.07.827 06:04:27] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: You must admit it a bit odd to be approached by a stranger on another's behalf in this way.
[12.07.827 06:07:06] [LIA]-Sickle: Mr. Jiraki is a friend of mine, but he dosn't have the posibility of asking for this kind of 'transfer'
[12.07.827 06:08:14] [LIA]-Sickle: About trust, definetly, this concept is the most importat in some situations, but also we have to think
[12.07.827 06:08:38] [LIA]-Sickle: about the financial part
[12.07.827 06:09:30] [LIA]-Sickle: I'm the only person Mr. Jiraki trust with this kind of requirement
[12.07.827 06:10:26] [LIA]-Sickle: Also, other agents from my governmental structure wouldn't see this with good eyes
[12.07.827 06:10:52] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I can understand their concerns.. they're some of the same ones I have.
[12.07.827 06:11:35] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: we both deal in sensitive information at times.
[12.07.827 06:12:03] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: as well as people who may not understand the good nature of helping a friend
[12.07.827 06:13:00] [LIA]-Sickle: I propose you something else, I wire you 15M of SC and you pick up one more crew for your ship
[12.07.827 06:13:26] [LIA]-Sickle: I don't think there will be any incident under your watch
[12.07.827 06:14:04] [LIA]-Sickle: Afterall, he's just a tehnician
[12.07.827 06:28:35] [827-07-12] 06:28:36 You have sent 10.000.000 credits to .:j:.Tyber.Zann with a comment.
[12.07.827 06:29:01] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: Thanks for the generous donation officer. I'll take good care of your friend.
[12.07.827 06:34:58] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I'll make sure Mr. Jiraki gets picked up and settled onto a junker vessel. We're always in need of good hands.
[12.07.827 06:35:43] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: Who knows, once he's spent some time serving on one of our ships he may decide to captain one of his own.
[12.07.827 06:36:40] [LIA]-Sickle: I'm thankful for your your help. Mr. Jiraki will be very happy when he'll finally leave Liberty space.
[12.07.827 06:38:42] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: I'll pick him up on my way to Tarancon base for some salvage work.. It's as far as one can get from Liberty
[12.07.827 06:38:57] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: all the way out in Omicron Minor
[12.07.827 06:39:16] [LIA]-Sickle: That would be perfect
[12.07.827 06:39:23] .:j:.Tyber.Zann: It's literally farther out than any freeport. Hope he's up for the trip.

[12.07.827 06:40:12] [LIA]-Sickle: He's up for anything *giggles*
[12.07.827 06:40:40] [LIA]-Sickle: Good day to you too pilot. Also, thank you again
Now I'm as distrustful of the law as any of us.. maybe more so, but the creds were good and I can't see harm in letting this Jiraki fella tag along on a few scrap runs. Maybe he's an agent hoping to do a bit o' spying at our expense, or maybe he's trying to leave a job what they don't let people leave from. Heck, maybe he's got on the bad side of a gambling debt or really does just want to take up the junker life. No matter, we'll be keeping a tight leash and a close eye on him while he's aboard my ship. I'll be mining Premium Scrap in New York and taking it out to the Freeport in Theta, then bringing Scrap back from Tarancon out in Minor back to Beaumont. Nothing more. Nothing less. A couple runs of this and I'll have fulfilled the deal with Agent Sickle.. all above board and legal like.
If he does end up trying anything foolish I expect he'll end up floating out in the 'Crons. Scrappin's dangerous work... accidents happen.
