Pilgrim Liner Allowance On The Freelancer ID

Story time!

In late 2015 the Dev team of the time arbitrarily raised the cargo capacity of the Pilgrim Slave Liner outside the bounds of what the Freelancer ID is allowed to fly. I made a thread then where which it was pointed out to me that ID issues fall under the preview of the Admin Team. I submitted a player request to have an exception added to the ID. In Febuary 2016, the admin team of the time, approved of my player request provided that the Dev Team slightly lowered the cargo capacity of the Pilgrim Liner. The resulting drama over the summer of 2016 lead to that request falling off of the radar until July 2016 when I again posted about how Freelancers still couldn't use the Pilgrim Liner where I languished over the next 15 months before having my thread locked.

Since apparently being productive doesn't fall under the preview of arguing for a already agreed upon change. I suppose we can start this all over again, and realistically it makes sense to restart this thread all over again, seeing as its a new admin team and a new dev team all over again, maybe the arguments really do need to be rehashed and reposed.

The Freelancer ID Reads as follows

Freelancers are people not affiliated with any faction in particular. They generally operate independent trade ships or small ships. They sometimes act as mercenaries, but mostly just explore Sirius, taking the odd job here or there to pay for fuel and supplies.
Pilot carrying this quasi-lawful ID is a Freelancer, who:
Can attack any ship in self-defense or to protect an friendly or allied ship.
Can fulfill any bounty and escort contracts, and may treat transports as combat targets when executing a bounty or escort contract against them.
Cannot use any transports with more than 3,600 cargo, except for the Pirate Train.
Cannot participate in unlawful actions except as described above.
Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats

I would like to suggest that the Pilgrim Liner have its cargo lowered to 4,200 and the Freelancer ID be modified to read "...Cannot use any transports with more than 3,600 cargo, except for the Pirate Train, and Pilgrim Liner..."

This would allow Freelancers to continue to use the Slave Pilgrim Liner in a nefarious perfectly lawful manner, and provide an alternative to the P-Train

The ship (many years ago now) was balanced quite well for a 3,600 cargo unit ship, in addition to it missing a countermeasure slot I feel that it isn't as tanky as you believe it is. Additionally, the Liner used to be illegal in the houses, no reason it can't be again.

The issue is that the slave/pilgrim liner is a special themed ship. The change that was gone killed off the slaver Union back in the day when they were using a freelancer ID. You would use a FL ID because it was a flexible quasilawful ID to use.

I suggest for the slaver Union or other sorts of factions to use the Junker ID and work to drop the mining bonus in exchange for other perks like being able to kidnap human cargo anywhere. As a bonus to the Junker ID , you can use kusari as your main hunting ground.

I guess the same can be applied to the rat pack. Maybe.

The reason you are being shot down so easily , Nemo, is that you are not providing a good enough argument. If it is just you that wants it, do an SRP to explain in rp why you need it.

I still think I would like to see the I'lane added to the Freelancer ID under a Generic Gallic Unlawful for just shoehorn it into the Sirian Unlawful. More variety that is unlawful.

Not only was the thread locked, but it was deleted as well. This is pretty totalitarian thing to do....

To the issue:

Someone (devs/admins) in 2015 broke Pilgrim Liner by increasing its cargo. It was an incredibly stupid idea, we all know it.

Now that those people are not around here anymore (or not in charge) there is no reason to not decrease the cargo back to 3600.

And NO, no ammout of NO's from whoever is going to change the fact, that there are people who want to fly Pilgrim with Freelancer ID.
It was possible before, it must be possible now.

P.S.: If it requires changes in admin/dev team, so be it, we can wait, but we are not going to give up.

I don't think it's appropriate for the ship to have such a small cargo hold. Really doesn't fit with its massive dimensions.
