That sounds just like an excuse to me. You can have PM/email notifications for new posts in that thread. Which is way better, than checking it every day.
In any case, links to archive would not hurt.
For what would you need it? Posts are just hidden, so staff still has access to them if they will need them for something.

They are hidden from me. What if I need them for something?
Namely I would like to check, how many times was my POB (Or any other POB for that matter.) under threat of attack.
I mean that thread is a log of a sort. You do not delete/hide those.
Speaking of this thread though, why are attack declaration posts deleted after some time? It would be nice to have a history.... or maybe someone does not want that?
Although I understand someone's rage when their base is destroyed (or threatened with totally unreasonable demands like "give me your password"), AND I have lobbied for a fairer system several times in the past (without much support from people who are now complaining), AND I have nothing to do with the destruction, I have to say:
What happened was within the rules, and following game mechancics.
If you don't like it, you should complain about the rules and/or game mechanics.
Although this will possibly not win you as a friend...
Bases are being built without demonstrating real RP or sportsmanship, and can destroy RP and activity too.
Your base, for example, was first built without RP, with an OORP line for a name, used Junker affiliation as a Gold mining base, gave BMM an advantage while still allying with Mollies, was re-built 10k above the plain and 6k near the field but got tolerated by the Brets anyway despite violating their 10k rule, copied my concept while weaseling around affiliations and house laws to get an advantage over it, and killed the activity I had built for my base. I used to be angry about that too, but not anymore because I gave up on expecting fair behavior from anyone here.
Also what you're doing is called "trial by forum".

Have you considered not building pobs in mining fields? It might prevent you from getting riled up by people when they destroy it to restore the status quo.
And who says it was OORP? Is there a rule? It was a pivotal part of the RP of a string of miners pubs and taverns, very deliberately done, if not as sensibly executed. I actually don't care if people say it was OORP because it was in RP and I'd do again. There was a huge amount of interest in them. Ingame RP base text messages (PM) were wonderfully efficient. It was original, it was different, it worked. It was an effective marketing strategy.
BTW It was never a Junker affiliated Base - it was AI.
If someone wants to attack your base, and it's protected by the Bretonian law enforcement, then inform the law enforcement. Otherwise they can't protect it because they can't know, inRP, that it is about to be besieged.
