Operation "Nochnoy Dozor"

Comrades. Two months ago we've discovered what appears to be a system, inhabited by alien lifeforms. Now it's time for us to perform a complete survey of a specific region of this system.

The plan is to survey the dark nebula and everything that is inside of it. Naturaly, we are expecting the alien resistance in the area, so I suggest you to be armed to the teeth and get the best equipment the blackmarket and the State can provide. Give your imagination a bit of a work and don't forget to mix efficency with unpredictability.

Due to the only known connection to this system being an unstable jump hole, this operation will require a Hyperspace Matrix. One of our vessels will be equiped with it, so it allows both of our battlecruisers to enter the system via the hyperspace jump. Whilist Doctor Belov will be performing the field survey, the operation also requires attendance of "Kronshtadt" to secure the area from any interferance. Presense of myself and aspirant Shweik is undiscussable. Everyone else who are willing to attend are to notify me or Doctor Belov before operation commences.

And remember - Lady Fortuna is nothing but a myth! True Socialist doesn't needs anything but their comrades and a ship to accomplish the goal! Especialy, if we're talking Omicrons.

MOBILE LABS PROJECT REPORT

Engineering division report in about mobile labs project status, comrades. As known, after failing of orbital laboratory project ("Baikal") due constant pressure from People's Coalition enemies, SCEC secretariate decided to invest People's resources in less vulnerable mobile laboratory complexes.

After gaining experience from exploitation of "Kardashev" and recent developments of mini labs for Vidar chassis, next step would be development and producing small-serie of modular lab-complexes integrated with modular carrier docking bays. This should reduce cost of repurpose of any carrier vessel to full-scale well-defended mobile laboratory complex.

While modular laboratories right now in manufacturing stage, carrier themselve in reworking process. Planned changes include enhance of armor, radiation shielding and slight rearrangements of command centres for better operate with scientific personnel. After a long time, 'Operation Remus', is a success without any failure. The doubt was pretty high but I managed to work things out with the help of 'certain' people who, most likely, don't want to be recognized in any way.

Comrades, good news can't get any better, it was a long strive, yet we managed to score it without any harmful impacts. Sure, I'm not a Scientist in anyways, but the stuff does look intriguing. Doctors of the SCEC, here I present you what I managed to gather;

After docking out of 'Kreutzwald', I saw a person named "Bradford" in the scanners, after getting the data, correctly, it was the same person those 'certain' people were hinting about. No one saw us and after lending some talks, we manage the delivery.

Omicron Psi Exploration

13/06/825 SCEC "Bystrina" expedition successfully traversed through previously unmapped in Coalition charts system that is referred to in the Order documentation as "Omicron Psi". The system being part of "Omicronis" cluster, maximum precautionary measures were taken as extremely hazardous conditions were expected. As predicted by preliminary intelligence reports, encounters with REDACTED occurred. However, the activity of REDACTED in this system was unprecedented, us being chased by a few largest known nodes surrounded by swarms of minor units. Despite the difficulty, in the name of People's Progress expeditionary corps managed to obtain research materials, map the system and successfully escape the hostile space.

The forces were small not to draw unnecessary attention:

CPRV "Kardashev"
CPS "Merkulov"
CPS "Yezhov"

1. OVERVIEW

The core of the expedition was represented by SCEC flagship CPRV "Kardashev" that held all the necessary research and survey equipment. The research teams under the command of me, Mstislav Belov and comrade Anton Shweik were responsible for the conduct of the surveys and subsequent analysis of data and samples obtained. CPS "Merkulov" and CPS "Yezhov" were combat freighters indispensable to get into the system. The jumphole to Omicron Psi from Omicron Alpha was reported by previous survey to be abnormal in the sense of allowing the jump of smaller vessels. Thus, our recently procured and refitted Hyperdrive module was used to navigate CPRV "Kardashev" through hyperspace directly in the system. For navigational purposes, CPS "Yezhov" was equipped with Hyperspace Navigational Matrix allowing the vessel to serve as the beacon. CPS "Merkulov" was piloted by Major Grachov, the head of TFS, who was in charge of the security measures.

2. LOGISTICS

The small size of freighters allowed the ships to traverse from Coalition space into <<CLASSIFIED>> without being noticed. There, CPRV "Kardashev" carried out a hyperspace jump. After refuelling at Freeport <<CLASSIFIED>>, the freighters departed to Omicron Psi through Omicron Alpha. Afterwards, CPRV "Kardashev" jumped for the second time into Omicron Psi. In case of unpredictable expenditures of fuel, freighters were carrying additional supply of hyperspace jump drive fuel.

The return itinerary of CPS "Merkulov" and CPS "Yezhov":

Omega 55 -> Omicron Theta -> Omicron Gamma -> Omicron Xi -> Omicron Beta -> Omicron Alpha -> Omicron Phi - > Omicron Psi

Having completed the objectives in Omicron Psi, CPRV "Kardashev" undertook "blind" jump to find itself in Sigma 21. The further itinerary:

Sigma 21 -> Sigma 17 -> Omicron Theta -> Omega 55

3. FINDINGS

3.1 PLANETS

The system has three previously unmapped in Coalition charts planets, that we labelled Popovich, Nikitich, and Muromets. Seemingly uninhabitted and incapable of supporting human's life, the further analysis of the soil samples is required. The interplanetary space is filled with primitive Carbon-based organic matter similar to one found throughout Omicron cluster with estimated density of 10 x 10^-21 kg/m3. The samples of the organic matter were delivered to Kamchatka station and are to be compared with the samples of organic matter from other Omicronis systems. The preliminary results indicate no traceable difference, indicating the linkage of the organic matter to REDACTED activity.

Popovich, Nikitich, and Muromets were studied with the use of standard "Vlastelin" probe and with the use of tectonic drill "Ural". The environment being extremely hazardous, only superficial survey of soil and tectonic composition, as well as atmosphere analysis were carried out. The data obtained indicate lack of strategically important resources viable extracting so far away and in such dangerous mileu. No traces of intelligent life and/or remains of artificial structures were detected. No further study thereof is advisable, unless in case of well justified research reason.

3.2 ARTIFICIAL OBJECTS

Aside from the planets, the system contained a small nebula the size of which indicated its artificial origin. At closer investigation, expeditionary vessels spotted an artificial structure of REDACTED and a jump gate akin to one found in Omicron Minor. The place was heavily protected by nodes of different sizes. No impact on mental state of the expeditionary staff was reported so we presume that the most advanced nodes were missing in the vicinity.

Constrained by time and the environment, we carried out quick scans. The thickness of the structure prevented us from seeing its compositions and prom obtaining the material sample. Even tectonic drill "Ural" was only partially useful as we lacked time to employ its full potential. A particular finding was the translucent and semi-transparent material covering the outer entrance into the inner chambers of the structure. Seemingly transparent from outside, it reflected most of the EM-waves, therefore, rendering commonly used spectral analysis of the inner layers nigh useless. It also created the "stealth effect", preventing the parts of our ship contacted with the matter from being visible by other expeditionary vessels. A quick solution to infringement of the scanning was suggested by Aspirant Shweik: CPRV "Kardashev" used the TSAR forward cannons to clear out the material. In milliseconds of "clear" window out spectral analysis equipment managed to capture the shape and general pattern of the structure. Far from fully comprehending its purpose and chemical composition, not even mentioning the functionality, the preliminary results suggest it was similar to the one previously found in Omicron Epsilon system and possibly serve as REDACTED base and fortpost. Further analysis is needed, possible encounter with similar objects in other Omicronis systems is very likely.

The longer we remained in the vicinity of the object, the more aggressive the nodes became. As we were barely capable of fending them off, we only managed to launch a small probe into the jump gates. No meaningful data were retrieved. However, we suspect there is another REDACTED world lying behind it.

4. Implications & Further Research

No further research of Omicron Psi is needed unless extraordinary reason
REDACTED worlds go deeper after Omicron Sigma
System is extremely dangerous and should be avoided
System is partially mapped
Samples of local interspace organic lifeforms were obtained; no samples of artificial structures were obtained
Hyperspace travelling is extremely potent for the exploratory purposes

We believe, this expedition overall was a success as we sustained no critical damaged and did not lose any of the crew. The data obtained being mostly of academic value, they might serve beneficially for further studies in the direction of deep space exploration, and REDACTED activity.

News can't get any better.

After the distressed signal, received from the Order in the 'Sigma-21' system about interrupting the 'Rheinland Military' fleet, I hail the crew of CPW "Kronshtadt" and wait no longer. Our crew hailed from the 'Corfu' installation. It was an Urgent mission, the entire reason why we used the [REDACTED] 'Battle Cruiser' with the Jump Drive. Recon jumping being done and it was successful. After reaching 'Sigma-17', 2 units of 'Militsya' dispatched from 'Cairo' after getting the secured communication to 'secure SCEC operation'.

The rendezvous was neat without any problems. Having additional Order recon on the other side of "Sigma - 21, we jump to the system for an optimal strike. There was a whole fleet awaiting near the Jump hole. The hostility was pretty high. Still, we managed to stay calm at all possible reasons. After some times, we attack and make sure our allies don't get attacked by any means. Without any losses, we won. We made sure that only dust, remains at their side and we manage to be victorious.

In Omicron Delta, somewhere at 18:10 Sirian Time, 02.07.825 A.S., [REDACTED] has commenced a full scale assault on Freeport 11 and it's residents. Whilist I wasn't able to perform the complete scans of all entities present, I managed to get a brief scan of something that appeared to be a quite powerful node. Everything is included in the recording.
The recording along with the scans shall be transfered to our Science Department.

Greetings, comrades. Our study of planet Palmira encountered unpredicted issues. Due of incredibly cold environment and thick ice cover, standard drones freeze and destructed before reaching and observing what located under ice.

For solving of that problem we suggest build special drilling drones with nuclear heaters. Unfortunatelly, common used MOX fueled GFRs is not suitable for this purpose, due hard-reaching realisation of required heat transfer to drone hull and equipment. So our choice is PWR type, which use enriched uranium fuel, and generate much heat, which could be transferred just by water.

Considering we have uranium asteroids belt around planet Estergebirge, we can build small enriching line on Mykolaiv to produce needed amounts of fuel for scientific purposes. I already notified SCEC engineering group on it. Construct specialised drones is not hard, basic blueprints for further developing was sent too.

After obtaining fueled drones we could continue our mission.

Privet comrades.
As I was told about some certain issues about the CPW "Kronshtadt" battle cruiser for some maintenance checkups and similar stuffs, I hailed the crew from [REDACTED] station and after some times, we head towards 'New Moscow' system. Gradually after entering 'New Moscow' we set our course for the 'Mykolaiv Research Station'

It was quite some time, me being away from the motherland. All things aside, after some checking procedures, the battle cruiser has been docked for further inspections by our comrades. Maintenance checkups are also on hold since there's been many tasks that has been accomplished by the "Kroshtadt".

Without further notice, everything went pretty good without any problems to begin with but we all should stand solid and ever ready to serve the motherland at any costs.
