I mean, it's just hard to return to a game that still has the same issues.
when I think of Disco:
I see KRIEG in Texas with 50+ players involved with hours long pewpews
or oc/sair raids in gamma/alpha
or tau chaos where everyone shoots everyone
or making omegas unsafe with RHA/LWB
or fights for toledo (rip)
or rogues going toe to toe with LPI/LN
or piracy during the dublin gold rush
or causing fear and confusion as wilde
or convoy/bowex convoys crushing all the things
or having interesting RPs in the deep omicrons
or GRN raiding leeds
of course that's all nostalgia speaking, and I understand that it was tried to copy some of that gameplay with organised events
the point is, we'll probably never see a server population of 225/225 players again which made such fun random encounters and spontaneous raids possible
so it's not helping to complain about the low player count, and I understand that removing systems would hurt the lore
however, to me the game is dead when there's 40-50 players on weekends losing themselves in like 150 systems flying hundreds of k from jumphole to jumphole without seeing anything but NPCs
disco always had a special place in my heart and I accept that there's no going back to how it was years ago
I hate how time consuming the game has become without giving me the release of dopamin I'm craving for, be it in form of small and big pewpews group trading/mining/piracy or genuine roleplay in general
but who am I to say that, I haven't contributed to this community at all in the last 3 years. yet I hoped for some changes made by the people who did to keep the game enjoyable even with the dropping playercount
