Quote:3.6 Attacking without Roleplay. Players must be given reasonable time to react to hostilities.
4.4 Every char must have only one type of ID equipped and they must play to that ID. Ship and equipment infocards which specify their use on a specific ID or specific ship must only be used on that ID or ship.
Consequences:
Your ID does not allow you to engage transports without a demand. Loss of guns and credits, sanction notice in hold.
If you require evidence, you may request such via PM from a Staff member. Only the accused or an official faction leader of the accused person's faction may request such. Once you have the evidence, and if you wish to dispute it, you may post in the Sanction Thread below. Do not continue PM'ing a staff member, as that will result in your Appeal being denied. If you PM a staff or post in the sanction thread and you are not directly involved, you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban. Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbors, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of GM Right #CTE 750AE
In course of recent events, i want to dispute the severity of the sanction:
- Screen
- I exited the trade lane
- Engaged in RP
- They had time to scan my ship and my ID - furthermore Printscreen it
- They began docking at Westpoint without any RP - they were hauling Aluminum ore, why were they in Liberty i have no idea since the Omega route is faster
- Any demand and furthermore "reasonable time to react to hostilities" would have been for nothing, since they would've docked
- I considered their docking as sign of decline to any RP, demand and a forfeit to any "reasonable time to react to hostilities" and engaged
- The destroyed ship did not use any nano / bats to try to save its cargo, and if they had time to scan and printscreen my ID and then dock, they had time to use nano/bats
- I can say that they were there as bait, playing sanction lancer, but i will not say that. This behavior should not be tolerated or encouraged - lack of RP and playing sanction lancer
> My sanction without a warning is something i dispute
Liberty Rogues ID Wrote:- Can attack any ships within their Zone of Influence, except transports.
- Can demand cargo and credits from any ship within their Zone of Influence, and attack them if they do not comply.
The person you have attacked was flying a Rheinland Train, which is classified as transport in the server rules. As you can read from the ID lines I quoted above, you are not allowed to attack unless they decide not to comply with your demands. In this case, there was no demand, they had nothing to comply with, and you had no reason to attack them. Not to mention the RP was not sufficient to attack as you did not show hostile intent. Your screenshot only adds up to the evidence against you.
The only suggestion I can give you is not to pirate lawfuls outside of lawful bases.
The number of ships you own and amount of wealth you amassed, as well as fluency of your english give me no reason to believe that you did not had means or time to spend a minute to read your ID and act per its guidelines. Hence this was a sanction and not a warning.
You have stated what i did wrong, and shown a strict and unwavering adherence to the rules and enforcing them, even in circumstantial cases.
However, based on those circumstances and seeing that this is my 1st "big" mistake, is the severity of the sanction justified?

That explains the severity of the sanction. And "severity" is a rather vague word. Your punishment was removal of credits and weapons from the bomber you used for committing the violation, which totals to around 30 million of worth. As far as the punishments go, yours was a very mild one.
The violation was rather clear, and you do understand that you were at fault. I hope this sanction will serve its purpose and remind you to think twice before you act and make sure everything is according to the rules.
