Guten Tag Mr Mayer & Dr Hertzmann
I am honored to be having this meeting with both of you. As you both know since the end of the 80 year war Synthfoods has the monopoly of food production within Rheinland. Since then there has been resistance such as the LWB to Synthfoods. Shouldnt Rheinland farmers be supplying their own people, rather than have some foreign corporation?
I believe that Rheinland has a few options available too it, to get out of the hold Synthfoods has on its local food market.
1. Identify which planets in Rheinlands control can sustain farming, alternatively we can see if we can ask our neighboring houses if they possible could lease land to us until such time we have a better solution.
2. Create and use Biomes like the Zoners do, which will cost more, take time to manufacture and will require alot of resources.
3. Use the same Algae Synthfoods has, but modify it for our own use/ own version of it.
4. Bring in "farmers" from the Border worlds, Independent systems and Omicrons, see how they have done it. They can help us replicate their procedure here in Rheinland.
This will require alot of funding, patience, and man power. Hence why I ask that Mr.Mayer if you could fund my project to get what is required.
Dr. Hertzmann would you agree in saying that this can be done?
Mister Mayer the construction of bio-domes for food production makes a great deal of sense in the deeper reaches of space where this is little access to planets on which to grow and produce food. Within a House however it becomes infeasible as many billions require food to survive and bio-domes simply cannot produce that amount of food on their own. Such a plan would also be met by stiff economic competition by Synth Foods. The advantage Synth Foods has is in that it's products are processed, which means they can bypass the traditional means of food production (Land, climate, livestock etc). Your proposals require a considerable investment in land and farming services, which is not a problem but it does mean you will have to target your buyers. The people who most often demand proper foods such as Oranges, Beef, Venison, Grapes, Carrots and other staple foods are the upper elite or upper middle class.
It is my advice that you look at securing land first and begin the production of produce there and investigate who will actually buy your food before you attempt to feed the entire house of Rheinland. It is advised you look at Planet Hamburg as it lies more within it's local star's Goldilocks zone than planet New Berlin. Alternatively, Planet Holstein is a better option due to warmer climates, you could always start there.

Bio-domes would be a costly project for very little return, and I agree financially it would be better to settle on a planet, especially one within Rheinland control. I will need time to think about this and consult with other experts before I make my final choice.
I can tell that you suggest it is doable, given that we get what we need, and make the most of it. I will contact you shortly, once I have made up my mind, if you may be interested in working with us.
