Missile mission meta was boring and tedious. Either you had another ship to farm in or had to keep swapping load outs.
Always hated it.

It's not about the meta. Cerbs aren't the meta anyway, it's Legates with Nightmares now. Missions were changed to be straight up impossible for anyone who didn't have a heavy battleship, with otherwise increased tedium across the board. This is about making missions more accessible, and profitable, for everyone again.

I like this... sometimes it was totally impossible to take a destroyer out and take on 6 GB's even on a lower mission.
Part of the problem with missions is that they only trigger at 2.5k and you can't really make use of long range guns and because of the 4k (i think?) area you have to remain in, its very easy to find yourself out of the mission area if you do try to move around in order to use long range guns.
Because of how the waves spawn, you're suddenly in firing range of multiple Cruisers who are gunning you down and if you do take them all out then you might find yourself low on power / shield / bats and there is a 2nd wave spawned within 1.5k now gunning you down.
If the mission area could be increased to 10k and maybe even trigger the spawns at 4-5k (both may be possible based on what is shown below) then capital class missions might be a bit better to manage in general and shouldn't really have an effect on lower classed missions.

Would also be really cool if missions could result in an escalation mission that brings on something actually difficult that would require a fleet (different types of ships with different specially-focused weapons -- man we got that neat plugin made of discovery's finest drunk-code does that kinda thing -- to take down, etc) and couldn't be cheesed with a bunch of nightmare-sporting Legates but uh I dunno if we have any programmers anymore and my rates are way too high since I grew a backbone and figured out what "self-worth" means

Cerbs are probably the meta now that NPCs can CM endlessly. Nightmares are rendered useless, so now you'll want cerbs or sledges.
