+1 I seriously think BHG ID needs a change and many I'm talking about MANY in the past have suggested that it should be able to collect unlawful bounties too and insteadof just an isolated House Dog organisation they should be everywhere.

The way I see it, Bounty Hunters are permanently hired, not just on a contract to contract basis. The NPC faction basically has a blanket bounty on every unlawful faction in the game. The pay should be optional.
I forgot that other factions can also claim bounties. The BHG ID truly is useless currently.
In the doomed ID rework the Admins did several years ago, they were going to add a line to let BHG IDs engage unlawfuls freely. However, they also wanted to give it a zoi.

Even that would be unfair considering the IDs I mentioned in the opening post have better ships and infinite zoi but I'd be willing to have this as a compromise at least. As long as the paperwork becomes optional.
Perhaps a free engagement against unlawfuls within a zoi, and a "can engage those under a bounty" for all other cases. Zoi would be like House space + systems bordering House space

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'm still waiting for a reason as to why simply letting them engage unlawfuls anywhere would be a bad idea. All it would do is encourage raids on home systems such as Gamma or Alpha. I'd probably eventually manage to settle with what you suggested, but simply allowing them to hunt pirates everywhere with the paperwork being optional would be overall best for activity and the IDs. There already are IDs like the Coalition which just let you kill anything anywhere, so, again, I don't see the issue.
I've suggested an ideal system before. Just automate bounty boards and eliminate the paperwork. Killing an unlawful as a bounty hunter prompts a command to execute and to transfer money from a corporate or lawful bank onto the ship that scored the kill. This can have associated multipliers on the basis of how dangerous and lawless the region is. Killing criminals in Houses would net you the base rate, but killing them in the Omicrons gets you double.
There really needs to be more appeal to being a bounty hunter. All it is right now is a hassle with added obstacles in the form of forum paperwork.
So far not a single person has listed a valid consequence to this, so I'm going to keep bumping this thing until the entire forum collapses or the thing gets implemented into the game and the IDs.
