As someone that spends alot of time mining, i would agree on limiting the scanner range to the size of the mining field, when mining sensors would be searching for minerals and thats basically it,
however i thiink that, if one is outside the mining area, it should detect anyone inside the mining field, this would help the pirates to actualy pirate instead of seeing theyr targets running away.
At same time would probably increase the Escort need and hire by the mining players. This would be a good idea for sure.
