Folks I've been playing Everspace the first one and holy hell from the controls etc. I realy love it as it has the freelancer style mouse movement. Decent graphics, lot of fun, missions, quests whatever it feels satisfying so far (I'm not through the game yet). Enemy capital ships are brutal (I don't remember that you can fly caps, yet).
But anywho, they announced that they will release Everspace 2 and there was a kickstarter launched (which is also shown in the first game). Here are a couple gifs and footages, I Just freaking hope this game will have online multiplayer or else it kinda feels like a wasted oppurtunity:
This game is not designed for multiplayer - you go forward to the very end, and if you die, you start again.
Multiplayer is not possible under such conditions, although, in fact, it is quite easy to implement it. However, it seems to me that the creators of the game want to show that a “single player game” may be more interesting than a bored “multiplayer”. But I do not draw conclusions in advance, so I think that multiplayer is quite possible. Anyway, wait for the game to exit.
The whole rogue like randomly generated galaxy put me off playing the last one but it sounds like they're going proper open world detailed pre-made galaxy like good old Freelancer this time around (which of course makes it strange that they're not adding multiplayer when its a set galaxy). Oh and the planet surface areas look awesome too! Kickstarter total looks a bit worrying though but hopefully they get there over the line!
Here's some sexy screens I found around the place:
Blake's Sanctum:
- Total Conversion mods: Star Trek Doom 2, Quest for Glory IV-3D Hexen, & Star Wars Civilization 2
- Game Shrines: Age of Wonders, Babylon 5 Games, Command & Conquer, Elder Scrolls, Dune Games, Final Fantasy, Freelancer , Heroes of Might & Magic, Master of Magic, Quest for Glory Series, Starflight, & Star Trek Games
I had a good 30 hours fun with Everspace, so I'll definately check out its successor.
Didn't it sell well enough, or why did they decide to go kickstarter?
Hope it's going to have a proper story and a Freelancer-feel to it. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw did in a way, and I enjoyed that one a bit more than Everspace's roguelite gameplay.

Yeah I still haven't got around to sorting out the HTTPS upgrade thing. Not really sure how to go about it TBH.
