not realy. we tried to bring some help up, despite the evacuation of the migrants. but when it comes to 49 osi and velvet stay silent. what shall the popes do? declare war to bretonia, while osi and velvelt will not jump in?
To Clarify as Velvet Lead/Member pretty much since the start, Velvet was partly made in response to the Gran Canaria situation and later the Aland situation (That had a effect around Freeport 1) to say that Velvet was silent during Gran Canaria is a bit unfair, as it did not exist as a faction. Now at the time, my character was part of Aazalot's brief Zoner Militant push against Bretonia (See: #1) and that same character is currently InRP leader of Velvet.
Currently, we are not friendly or collaborators with Bretonia, we are neutral but it is also true that neutrality can be seen as complicity. At the moment, Velvet's only concern in O-49/Exeter is Lanzarote and I do log now and then to check on it if there's a large amount of people.
As for my personal feelings on this faction? It's alright, I knew something like this would come up eventually but I do think it's a little well, late in the game. The annexation of Gran Canaria happened a year ago, the evacuation of Zoners happened pretty soon after that IIRC. Most Zoners InRP are on Pygar or in other areas, I'm not saying that your faction shouldn't exist just that, the fight for me feels hollow or a loosing battle now.
Still, I wish this faction good luck in this official faction request as I, sorta agree with it.
You say all of this but how many Bretonians did you kill at the end of the day? Zoner factions trade with them anyway, how is that not a collaboration?
How many i killed? some .. and has killed also some times! at that point i was the only one, and for many time i continue to be the only one, so for a long time, all my kills were the only ones to happen. also with the zoner id, i couldn't make much more than i did, i even was on omega 3 one time while some rh and img were fighting with baf, but couldn't do anything ... just watched!! so you may say i did almost nothing, but that almost was basicly all that was done, even insignificant for many, it was all that was done. untill a day i said "nahhh!! it is not worthy to continue!"
and yeah .. factions could do something more ... they should do something more! stop trading with bretonia and their allies .. undercover operations and so on!! many things that official factions should have done

see it this way, o49 is still a war zone. if the official zoner factions FR5 all bretonian ships from every zoner base and declare war on bretonia and fight for the status quo ante, nothing is won. same situation as before the war. it doesnt even matter who wins this fight right now between coalition and bretonia, cause the sairs are waitin. and if they invide 49 whoever allies with whoever. and so on
maybe the conflict is too young to start negogiations and find a solution that works.

I'm curious. Lets say you guys succeed in taking O-49 back for yourselves and push the Bretonians back to Dublin what will happen to the faction? What are your future plans? Would you take the system for yourselves or for Zoners as a whole? Would you push this small war into mainland Bretonia or once you take back O-49 is that it for the faction?

To be honest I'm kind of skeptical that we can (or should) push the Bretonians out completely. That would defeat the whole struggle the faction is based on, kind of like Bundschuh getting their Rheinland revolution and overthrowing the government and taking control - suddenly the faction will have no actual struggle to fight for.
But in a hypothetical scenario - I would consider securing the border to Dublin a secondary objective if the Brets every ferry off back to mainland Bretonia so that they don't try doing that thing with taking over Gran Canaria again.
In our eyes Gran Canaria is a Zoner world and should be a Zoner world. We fight for the right of Zoner self-governance in O-49.

OSI trade with Bretonia and that is entirely up to them, nothing is stopping them.
And, well, helped kill a couple. Velvet doesn't trade with Bretonia, and we probably won't anytime soon.
On principle I agree with what this faction is doing, as Gran Canaria is a Zoner world for my character and I would like to see what happens next. I have no quarrel with anyone in GCA.

As one of the most active traders of OSI i would say that your Information is not exactly correct.
Yes, we fly throgh bretoinan space, but it's a long time ago, that i've seen an OSI-Ship Docking at an Bretonian base.
