I'd just like to point out that the Lib dread is not a copy of the Osiris, but the other way around. The Osiris was stolen after Lib dreads were produced. The Osiris was designed along basic Liberty ship doctrine, and the dread came first. Just to clarify that.;)
Actually , such information is of great interest to me. There for I have wished to find it myself , but with no success. I mean , how can we know that for sure ? Has it been writen somewhere ? No realy , I want to read some of the RP aspects , not only for the Liberty Dreadnaught / Osiris matter , but for other affairs also.

Errm, well there's the fact the Osiris was described as a prototype is an indicator it's fairly new, and then there is the vanillia stationary BSes too, one of which says in the infocard it's going to be decommissioned (I think) and stuff has to be old to be decomissioned.
Try the BS in New York (my only Libertonian is a Xeno, so I stay away from it and hense forgotten the name). ailing that there is the Rio Grande in Colorado.
Look, the Liberty Carrier as it is the Star Wars Transport ship you see Obiwan and Quijon-jin use to enter the Trade Federation Donut-Battleship. *eyes around for LPI hearing that*
Only difference is that its mega-huge and has hangers in it.

But yes the Liberty Dreadnoughts have been around for ages - The Osiris was stolden prior-to SP making it a new prototype.
ALL Xing is trying to do is make the ship look more new and Liberty'ish. A simple and MUCH better Reskin.

this is for you Xing. - i have converted the ships - used your textures and texture information. ( so it was like done in 2 minutes )
however, here is how i scaled the ship ATM... and i need your feedback about how big you want it to be. - the below ship is my liberty assault cruiser replace. the lib dreadnaught is around 30% larger than the frigate.
the current size is as big as the zoner juggernaut.
but the juggernaut hasn t got to operate in space where its vital to use tradelanes. - i tested that ship at that size in Open SP with the minimal hardpoints ( just to test its size - its too big as it is )
so - tell me how much bigger than the battlecruiser you want it to be - maybe 3 times ( currently its 4 times bigger ) - but a problem is the width of the ship, too. - while it looks OK if its 3 times longer than the BC ..... it is MUCH wider. - only a blind bomberpilot will ever miss this ship - and only when he flies into the opposite direction. its as huge as the zoner juggernaut, but the jug doesn t see much pvp.... so this part is more important for you... .

i have sized your bomber to BHG gunship size. - now - here is a suggestion to actually think about. - i can mount two torp slot foreward - and two backwards. - you think its a joke? - think again. - that way, it won t have the overwhelming power to fire a twin SN, but if one is pointing backwards, it ll take enormous skill to aim with it and use it properly ( as the momentum will make the SN very slow ) - in that case, i d say - having the power to fire two SN is good - one at approach, one at retreat. - ( the other torp slot would be defined as CD only )
think of it ....
this ship would also ahve the power to disrupt chasing fighters without turning. - now is the time to decide - once i made the hardpoints, i hate to revise them =)

Ive always imagined Carriers to be about 1.5x bigger then regular things...
Technically in the USA the Carrier is the most dangerous warship...

te assault frigate is around 75% the length of the dreadnaught. - so the carrier is currently about 3 times larger in length - but 5 times larger in width. or in other words - if we find a hitbox that fits it well - the pilot will have to have a good piloting skill and tons of patience to enter a lane. - imo, the carrier could easily be 20% smaller - and would still be very hard to fly then, cause its a very compact design. ( unlike other liberty ships that are narrow, this one is actually very wide - and that IS something that ll limit its usefulness big time )
however this is the size that makes you actually believe that defenders and avengers can launch from it - as they fit generously into the bays..
here is the final version. - since the textures were in a .png format, i had to reformat them to .tga - that means they are upside down in HardCMP but appear correctly in FL ( as you can see )
the size is a little shorter than a kusari battleship and much flatter of course. but its wider than the liberty dreadnaught. increasing its length would have made the ship inconveniently wide ( since its very compact... it would have caused problems with tradelanes )
so the ship in that final version is at its minimum size - sort of. - on the picture above, you can see the size of a Falcata bomber ( used it as a default bomber size ) - and i compared the size of a Ravens Claw in milkshape with it. - the Ravens claw fits into the launch tubes conveniently, so the size works.
i have tested your ship in OpenSP:
- CM dropper works, but when you drop more than one, it can affect the ship. ( it collides with the backside and pushes it upwards )
- the CD works. it is located in the very nose of the ship and cannot fire backwards ( around a 120 frontal degrees arc )
- all weapon turrets fit onto the hull and fire into the directions they are supposed to fire... BUT...
the original carrier ( the current one ) was very generous with its fire arcs. - as a matter of fact, most of its turrets have a 360 degrees firearc. - on this one i have limited a few of them to a more logical arc. - it ll still have like 12 turrets being able to fire foreward but the right side cannot fire into the left arc anymore ( through the ship ) - other than that, firing with all available weapons worked well.
[ visible turrets are marked red on the image - some are not visible form this perspective, so i haven t marked them... but the original ship has 20 turret hardpoints ( 16 of them used ) - i added the exact same turrets at the most logical / similar places ]
- docking and undocking worked. the ship got stuck upon undocking, but not worse than any other ship. - it was no prob to free it from the stations tower.
- cruise speed worked ( but the engine effect must be changed to an impulse engine.
- docking with a tradelane worked
- docking with a jumpgate worked
slight little problems:
- the model is very big. - especially fighters are able to close up to it - and from very near, the skin looks a bit low detailed sometimes.
- the skin, as seen is shaded differently than the common liberty ships. - i had no osiris to compare it to - but it is rather black than silvery.
- the camera position is OK - but such a huge ship will be hard to fire with. ( like the juggernaut ) - a ship that is close but on the other side of the ship than the camera is nothing but a pixel. - a falcata bomber is barely bigger than a single window of this ship.
edit: to make flying a little easier, its turning point ( the axis it turns around ) is quite in the front of the ship instead of the middle. - that way it feels as if it is drifting when flying a circle - but it ll make getting into a lane easier ( it activates the lane quicker without having to enter the lane by almost half )
...well, that IS large. I don't think it should be a deterrent, though, it looks pretty good as it is. What it WILL need, though, is a stats increase over the current carrier. By the end it will need to look something like the Kusari Battleship, up to and including two additional weapons hardpoints (which, as I understand it, you CAN do without a player wipe-it's taking them away that's the problem). It LOOKS gorgeous, however, and if I had 1.7 billion to plop down on a toy for myself I surely would...
