Why-aye chaps,

I'd say that my time abroad Scarborough these last few years has taught me a few very valuable life lessons.
First, the ol' Geordie accent is bloody infectious. Go to Newcastle, they said. The locals are lovely, they said. Yes, all very true, but if I don't get away soon, my own family back on Cambridge won't recognise my voice!
Second, balance spreadsheets and convoluted cargo contracts are reasonable substitutes for conventional pornography.
And third, I'm afraid that a cushy desk-job like this just isn't for me. I'm meant for the stars, not star-tlingly dull conversations held around the office water-cooler. I've put in 5 good years here. Seen a few different offices. Had a few promotions, even. Corporate can't argue that I haven't done my bit for Bowex's backlog of paperwork. But I can't live cooped up on a single station like this; I have to fly again!

So, with that all said, please consider this my formal application to return to active service with Bowex's shipping division. The Penrose has been too long without it's captain. As for prior paperwork records detailing my last Bowex employment status, please find them attached: [1] [2], [3] [4].

- What is your full name? My name is Basil Adams.

- Where was your last place of employment? What experience do you have? I served in numerous small independent shipping ventures before the war. After that, I was able to ferry supplies to the front from Liberty space (for profit, of course) and dodge Gaelians as they harassed the trade lanes. Since the war, I have made my living as an independent alcohol merchant between New Tokyo, New London and Manhattan and even more recently running search and rescue operations in Bretonnia space, rescuing crew and cargo from planetary wrecks and returning it to the nearest port (Usually Waterloo station).

- To what division are you applying? The Trade Combine.

- Why are you interested in working for Border World Exports? I'm a patriot. I watched the war nearly tear Bretonnia apart. I'm afraid working independent isn't for me. I need to earn a living, but a living I know will contribute to the Empire.

- You happen across a Gateway convoy that is under attack by Red Hessians. What do you do and why? It depends. If I am passing by in close proximity and cannot get the cargo out, I fight as I make my way through. Gateway be a competitor but I'll be damned if I sit back and watch Pirates maul my Bretonian brothers and sisters. Notifying the BPA and the BAF is necessary. Never know when those same pirates will ambush me.

- You encounter a corporate trader of Gallic origin. It croaks mockingly at you. What do you do and why?
Arm weapons, prep the cruise engines and continue on my path.

- How do you feel about Glaswegian badgers?
I think I've been away planet side for too long. What the hell is a Glaswegian badger?

I have always been a Freelancer. I made my coin searching out my own routes, venturing on my own path. This... no longer suits me.

I am highly familiar with the most efficient and profitable routes in and around Bretonia. I have in my possession a Serenity class transport and a Bretonia Cruise Liner that can be of service. I... am just looking for stable employment.

If I "happen" across the Red Hessians then I am likely to become a target as well. It's in everyone's best interests that I do what I can to buy us both time to escape.

I would not risk drawing attention to any valuable cargo I may have on-board, however, if fired upon I may have room for theirs.
