The smirk, that goddamn smirk appeared again as she stored away the lipstick cylinder. "What for? You will not remember the past twenty minutes." Looking at Elizabeth, the effect was starting to kick in. Her eyes were starting to look even more tired. "Then again, I have what I wanted." Walking towards her, she shoved her back into her seat, and started to sweep Elizabeth and then the room with her wrist-pad.
In about 20 minutes, Elizabeth woke up, clueless that anything had happened. She noticed the burn mark on the carpet and an extinguished cigarette nearby. It was hard for her to forgive herself that she fell asleep on duty, but she was relieved that none of her staff were present to witness it. Normal business of the day continued, as if nothing had happened.
But every next night, for some reason, Elizabeth kept having the same nightmare.
