The idea behind charging the hundred mil for the Dreadnought has three motivations: first, it's sold exclusively in the Guard system, and as such we have control over flight rights. Second, it's a very, very destructive ship, and was once very popular when it was in a much more easily accessable place (I remember a time six months ago when I'd see two or three a day). Reading the infocard, it says that a small number were constructed, most of which are stashed away for an invasion. Want a Dreadnought? How serious are you, and how willing are you to stay within the parameters of the infocard? Third, we need money. Take advantage of avaialbe resources, no?
And N00bl3t, your accusations are self-centered and immature (and this from ME!). You honestly think I'd instill a ban on automation just to attack one person? The point here is to steer people into making some kind of an actual character. If you bring me something about an AI like Zapp's Carina, then by all means have an automated destroyer, but as it stands people will write a few lines about Hal 9000 killing his crew, taking over the ship and enjoying himself on a Sirius-wide tour. Na-ah. Not on my watch.
EDIT: Oh, and you'll note that, reading closer, the fees attached to the Destroyer and Battleship refer solely to non-Outcast buyers. The only one that has a fee attached to it for an Outcast pilot is the Dreadnought. The idea was to force even more Roleplay interaction; at the least they have to write up the story and make a few message dump posts.

As for the Destroyer and Battleship I don't think it's right charging for them but not charging Outcasts isn't so bad but the whole thing doesn't sit right with me honestly and surely you can't charge Rogues for the Destroyer given the infocard.
I'm interested if you are planning to do this with the Gunship when it appears.
It's a battleship. A member of a class of general purpose warships of top-tier armouring and armament. It should be destructive, rare and restricted to being flagships of the OF-10s of the Outcasts.
It's destructive, not overpowered. Have you ever tried moving one of those things through the Omicron Theta nebulae? It takes LOTS of patience. In fact, its firing arcs are better facing the rear. Ships with better armor and equal or better firepower include the ZOner Juggernaut, the Rheinland Battleship, the Kusari Battleship, the Hacker Spyglass, and the Nomad Battleship.
I detect spite in your post. No, plox?
EDIT: Oh, you edited. Right, you don't have to think it's right, but it's there nonetheless. As for the Rogue bit, that's actually a good point, I'd missed that. I'll lower the cost for the Rogues (and even after that they still have to have us build the thing because they don't have a shipyard).

Just purchasing a dread without paying for the labor put into it is like having a contractor build a house for you and then telling the poor bloke that you're only paying for the material.
All in all; It's valid RP.
With paying for the labour put into it? Gee, so I guess in-game the Dreadnoughts are free? Good point Dennis. Awesome.

I'm very serious. I'll write up my RP. Fly within my ZoI. And trade until I earn 750 million. That should prove how serious I am.
Good since you aren't instilling the ban personally against me you will have no problems with the automation of my ships or any ESS ships. Sorted.
Good. Roleplay interaction. I've said I'll write up my story and I have no problems dumping messages.

Good. In that case you won't mind trading for another hundred million so the 101st gets its dues. If you're really serious it isn't a problem.

No. I have a problem. Your ego. It's blocking my view. Your automation is a problem because it says so in the rule book. There isn't an exception written in there. Get over it.

Good! As long as it fits withing the viable parameters we won't have any problems!:)

Sorry. Prefer to RP with my BB instead of powertrading. You can speak to your Corsican engineers about any changes in price, if you believe it's too low.
Eh. If you really think my ego is that big, well I'm lost for words. I don't carry on about my ego nor do I advertise it, unlike others who post in this thread. Automation is a part of the ESS' RP. Seriously, if you have a problem with it then you have a problem with my RP and therefore you are restricting my RP and therefore purposely targeting me. You can say what you want to this, but everyone can see that when you capitalised your no automation policy, in your rulebook it was directed against me.
Viable parameters are good RP and following the rules. Thats it.
