I would like to get some input on an Idea I have had recently Regarding Player Owned Bases.
My Idea is
To be able to upgrade the storage modules similar to the Core levels, Tier 1-2-3 .. but you can only upgrade in order 1-2-3 rather than 1-3, when you go for the upgrade you lose half the storage capacity of "that module" and need to have the space that would be "lost" free. But have to re-supply the materials needed for the upgrade.
From what I can see, most people only use POB's for making cloak mods and dock mods. nothing else really, would it not be better to able to adapt and change stuff as the mods progresses on?
I understand people dont like change but, It could work which would then introduce more Aspects/Ideas for player bases to be interacted with
You will notice some of the threads actually selling Mods/Taking orders.
The reasoning behind this suggestion is I am trying to take a different approach with my POB by actively buying and selling commodities onto traders and new players to the game that are looking for easy quick cash/startup capital etc etc.
This may be a selfish Mod suggestion on my part. But it could also benefit others such as Miner bases perhaps and then eventually stop factions relying on permanent fixtures to call their base. such as planets etc due to the defence mod upgrades it would open up the RP a bit more I hope.
I'm about *actual* bases, not semi-dead forum facilities. If you'll go and fly around - most of POBs are near mining zones because they're used for storages

Your idea is brilliant and deserves to be studied but as far as I know, there is a big problem regarding POBs upgrades.
The one that was able to do all those edits to the POB system codes is sadly not available anymore
One of the most amazing players who played on discoveryGC ....
I also got an idea about having several types of POBs, such as Shipyards bases but as I mentioned, the only one that can edit those codes is not here anymore...

Oh, That's a shame to hear they no longer exist in discovery.
Maybe it could be a suggestion for the "Back Burner" then hehe or hopefully someone decides to try and learn how to edit such code.
Ah well, we can live in hope and maybe one of the team will take it on as a project to learn the coding for it

As the person who maintained FLHook between Cannon and Alley, I take mild offense to this.
