"Yes, Mr. Stow, I have heard those same rumors," replied Doc, "it does give us time to act."
"I think this arrangement you propose would work," continued Doc, "my only concern of OSI is that it isn't known to use capital ships and most who come here seem to have fleets of them." He paused a moment, looking over at VonCloud, smirking and looking back to Stow to continue, "but I think Mr. VonCloud will figure all that out."
He looked to Voncloud again, "One of my temple fighters arrived earlier. I have instructed it's pilot to assist. The O.Versus.Tergum is docked on the surface. I'm not sure what else I can spare at the moment as I keep liaisons on various stations.
"As to the surface," he continued, "I know of a few people I can deputize. I'll have to come up with a plan. I do have a couple of people in mind to help me make this work."
"I propose this. Let's meet frequently. I think sharing information and working tightly together will be the only way we make this work. We can meet here or at my ranch. I also propose that we keep this effort led by both our groups since we're both respected and known." Doc once again turned to Voncloud, "I know there have been some small groups in the area. Perhaps we can bring them in under a common banner and um, I'll need those weapons you stashed.....plus whatever else we can get ahold of."
He sat back, his hands behind his head as he smiled, "We can do this, Gents. We just need to be smart about it."
Voncloud listened in to the conversation as Doc looked at him, pointing out the fact OSI didnt have Capitol ships, well, not on an official level anyways.
As they continued he swirled the scotch in its glass before taking another swig from it.
"Indeed, but ill need a safe and fairly out the way place to deliver those weapons, if your going to lead the forces on the ground, id rather give you the oppotunity to dish the weapons out at your own pace..rather then having a pack of still angry Zoners knocking on your door.
As far as the capitol ships are concerned, i have 2 choices, the first is based on an observation of the Corsairs. They seem to be using capitol ships almost exclusively, ive maybe encountered one wing of bombers and thats about it. So i could just increase the amount of bombers OSI have and station them on Lanzarote.
My other choice, is to take my subsidiary of Omicron Security Incorporated and make it a fully fledged security company, away from the trade side of OSI so that it may have the capitol ship restriction removed. This is a longer more drawn out process but would also be something useful for the future"

Doc pulled out a datapad and punched in some information. "Mr. Voncloud, these are co-ordinates to have the cache of weapons sent to. No one knows of it but me. That should satisfy your need of safety."
As he finished, he saw the message, a call to arms. This made him see Voncloud's point.
"I'm not much of a pilot myself," Doc continued. "My fighter skills are poor at best. I'll see if I have a bomber pilot or two that would like to come out here on a duty assignment."
He walked over to Voncloud, "And you do have one capital ship at your disposal. I told Mr. Stow before you arrived that Freeport 6 security sent an Aquilon carrier to the system. Commander Matok had little use for such a ship in the asteroids of Tau 29 so he sent it. Mind you that it is crewed by Klingons and they need a check of the weapons systems as they are set up for snubs if I'm not mistaken."
Duncan sat silently, reviewing the comm panel as he listened to Doc and Voncloud strategize. He noticed several messages that needed his attention, and when there was a pause in the conversation he spoke up.
"Gentleman, I think we have made a good start here today. With these tiny steps, we begin to become organized, and will be ready when the Corsairs return."
He glanced down at the comm panel again.
"I'm afraid that I have some other business to attend to, business that might prove useful in this situation."
He turned the comm panel around on the desk for them to see the message from Phoenix.
"Perhaps our distant brethren could be of use to us. We may lack the capital ships to slug it out with a Corsair fleet, but they do not. Who knows what may come of this? I will leave you both to your work, as I am sure you have much to do and little time to do it. Doctor, we will most certainly maintain a schedule of meetings, so we may all remain appraised of the total situation. Now if you'll excuse me gentleman."
With that Duncan rose from his desk and walked calmly toward the door. Once he had reached it, he stopped and turned around.
"Feel free to use my office gentleman, but Jerard try not to drink my entire stock alright?"
He then turned once more and went through the door, quickly making his way toward the landing area, where he would take a shuttler to the company yacht.
It had been a while since all the Members and Advisers of the Board had managed to convene in the meeting room of OSI's Corporate Offices situated in the iconic tower dominating the city of Las Palmas.
They had been here the whole day and the sun was already setting behind the tree-covered hills of Gran Canaria. A number of empty Styrofoam cups were stacked on top of each other as a measure of both time the amount of coffee or tea they had drunk during the meeting.
The CEO, with an atypically loose tie, had grown tired of the meeting hours ago, now exhausted he made a visible effort to follow and lead the course of the discussion. However, as tiring as the day had been it had come to a fruitful end and it was now the CEO's turn to summarize the consensus reached and formally end the meeting.
“Dear colleges I thank you all for coming to day and participate on this meeting."
"In terms of the Order: We have agreed, that we will honor all requirements of Admiral Golanski and we will let them choose the exact location of the research-base, under the condition that they provide us with accurate and up-to-date hyperspace coordinates."
"Freeport 14: As said in the beginning: The committee of the Zoner Development Fund has agreed to finance Miss Nemesis proposal to upgrade the security of the Freeport. We have also agreed to expand Freeport 14 with additional modules and offices as well as a communication relay to facilitate communication and trade with the Houses of Liberty, Bretonia and Kusari."
"Rheinland: With the founding of the 'Imperial Party of Rheinland' we might have found an ally, who, once in power, can guarantee OSI's return to Rheinland market. As they want an end of the Liberty-Rheinland war ,this could mean additional business with import/export between Rheinland and Liberty. It has therefore been decided to support the IPR financially."
"Last but not least: Adviser to the Board David Starr is hereby promoted to 'Director of Public Relations' due to his recent show of skill in diplomacy with the – notoriously difficult – Admiral Golanski."
Are there any final words before I officially end this meeting and invite you all for a Drink in the 'Trade'n'Drunk'?"
Starr stood up from his chair, to say a few words. He was now using civilian clothes and a leather jacket, instead of his usual pilot suit.
"Well, friends... I just wanted to say I am glad by the confidence you are demostrating towards myself. I think OSI is the most important group in the Omicrons, despite what others say. Without us, most groups in the Omicrons would starve and be out of energy and fuel within a month. Although I am not a diplomat, I am a fair negotiatior and I will do my best at the head of the PR Directorate. Although I prefer to deal also with Not-so-public Relations..."
He smiles at his own joke while looking from one person in the room to the other, giving a respectful and thankful look at each one of them.
"Just a couple years ago, when I entered this company, I looked up at you guys as bosses and as role models. Now I am glad to be amongst you and to be able to call you all friends. So, after this meeting is over lets all go to the Trade'n Drunk, the first round is on me!"
Director, the Cap of the OSI-Prometheus brought the so long expected sample of ore from Pygar
Finally he though, let's hope our science team will have the same findings as the reported from Corinth Research Station.
This can be a game changer for OSI, we could really use a break.
