As a Coalition faction, these guys didn't make sense because of their religious nature that the Coalition WOULD suppress. The Coalition wouldn't allow a Caliphate or any sort of expression of Muslim identity to flourish. Arab, maybe, but never Muslim, even if it's faux-Muslim and revolving around some Starlancer ace.
Which leads me to another point: the Coalition wouldn't allow these guys to detach from the Coalition, but would allow some degree of expression. Maybe there's an Arab-majority fleet of the Coalition, a CPW-Medina somewhere, and maybe Exeter is to be reclaimed for the Coalition's Arab minority as planet idk Damascus.
If you want to shape an Arab identity among these people and as part of the Coalition, I'd rather take example from the Middle East's secular or "secular" republics, for better or worse, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen.
A Caliphate within the Coalition's midst would be a huge nono for the government.
Now, on to the second revision, which turns them into Corsairs.
There could've been Arabs on the Hispania who would've just said "Fuck the Coalition, let's live among these guys in this desertic hellscape with constant famines", but if the premise that they're Arabs is based on the idea that they discovered last thursday that they were Arabs and engaged in some sort of cultural reconstructionism, that's a wrong premise.
Even more so when they have the pointlessly grandiose objective of being a House.
The Custodi pulled off the minority-within-the-Corsairs thing excellently. They were Greek, they had a distinct culture from the planet's Hispanic majority, they settled in their own area which happened to be the one fertile area of Crete, turning them into that world's peasantry, they went as far as naming Crete's moon, and never had any secessionist intention because of how integrated they were in Crete's fabric, they just looked out for themselves.
My feedback if you want to keep them Corsair:
they kept their culture throughout the centuries (didn't see that coming, did you? It may sound counter-intuitive, but if the Custodi did that, so can these guys), settling en masse in their own region of Crete. Because of Crete's decentralized nature, they had their own political autonomy, it could be a Nasserist republic, either kind of Baathism, some sort of Islamic emirate or sultanate, up to you. They're Coalition stock, so they're probably a highly secularized society and I see them more sticking to the stereotype of the broken Middle Eastern oil-exporting republican dictatorship, but that's up to you. Maybe they even supplied fossil fuels to Corsair ships, what do we know? Maybe they have a friendly rivalry with the Greeks over who gave a name to Tripoli, after all there's Libyan and Lebanese Tripoli and a Greek one in Morea. These kinds of neat touches.
And no grandiose aspirations of Housedom, realistically they'd just advance their interests and, when that's possible, Crete's as a whole.
Problem is, if the Hispanics find out they're Arabs and hence Coalition agents, they'd kill them horribly for having sabotaged their sleepership. They WOULDN'T make it eight centuries, they'd be murdered before landing on the planet.
So yeah, Battlegroup -some Arab name- as part of the Coalition's fleet makes far more sense.

Maybe because this place is more open to ideas than you think.

You actually bring very good perspectives to the table. I think the faction stay as a coalition-origin one but be seperatist instead. A nationalistic-revolution over coaltion's suppression of their religion and nationality, while also altering the lore a bit to not step on the toes of established coalition lore. They should not really go for corsair ID as that sounds extremely contrary for a faction that draws inspiration from Starlancer lore pretty much.

If a faction draws interest, in this case, coalition, why should people not play it and instead be forced to play factions they dont like? Let people play what they want. I am sure half of the crowd who opposes making more coalition factions would not care about a 3rd Liberty Navy faction or I dont know how many outcast factions+1, just because it is vanilla.

I added a couple more lines, suggesting a Coalition ID and acting as part of the Coalition fleet. As for separatism, I don't suggest it just yet, maybe not openly.
Maybe the plan is to pretend to be Coalition, get their help to claim Exeter for themselves, and then secede, though that would leave them at war with everyone that matters in the region, with both Bretonia and the Coalition attempting to grab the planet from them. Not that the Coalition's ever going to take Exeter.
No, maybe being honest Coalition loyalists but Arabic makes more sense.
It's supposed to be a federal state anyway.
I mean from all the three options inside the Tigris Confederation (Saracens, Black Suns, Scorpions - which he refers the factions name to) he could've gone for the Black Suns and maybe acted like the Blood Dragons within Coalition Territory. The Black Sun consisting of Middle-Eastern descendants the goal could be set to build an Emirate but the faction itself would not operate under that name yet.

It's the faction and ID soaking up activity in the Omicrons, to a point that is detrimental to other factions in the area: Gaians have struggled finding purpose and activity, Mollys have essentially been non-existent, LWB were outright deleted, Corsairs are lacking in direction, Hessians are moving away from the Omegas, because the bloated, overplayed Coalition soaks up players and has been forcibly inserted into every existing faction dynamic in the region.
Nothing in the Omegas happens anymore that doesn't involve the Coalition, and the last thing we need is more of them.
Sounds like a real world country, I shall not name.
I'm not too keen on more coalition factions, but who's to say you won't end up being better than the others. One of my main issues is that one of your only main goals leads you to be more of a trading faction, and Volgograd already exists to do just that and has already accomplished the goal of getting Sirius wide economic contact.
So are you trying to be a trading faction that will shove Volgograd out of the way that already heavily fills that role for the coalition, or are you going to be a mixup. Also I find the goal of becoming a house a bit... odd. To say the least, considering every house is gonna hate you because of your factions history, especially considering you hail from the old Coalition as well as the new.
Though that's not to discourage anyone from this, I just popped in my two cents. Good luck.
I do not know why the faction logo reminds me of the crescent (moon) which is used by the Muslim people in RL in many things. The word "Caliphate" also reminds me of the beginning of Islam religion times. The word is also used wrongly by some terrorist organizations who claim to be "Muslims". Also, I noticed the word "Saracens" which was used to refer to "Arabs" by a group of terrorists who claimed to defend Christians in the name of the cross by mass-murdering Muslims and occupying their lands.
I also noticed in the faction structure area, the words - "Naqib", "Aqid" etc.. which are Arabic words typed in "franco-arab" (English letters) meaning different ranks of modern Arab's armies ranking system... I just noticed those many parts that refer to two main things, Muslims and Arabs.
Anyway, I just wanted to share with you that I noticed the essence of this faction
Congratulations and enjoy your new faction.

Answer in 2 words. Saracens (Saracens (ساراكينوس) is a Eastern Coalition squadron in Starlancer.) And Coalition, look at Tigris Confederation logo Everything was taken from Starlancer Wiki, and original Starlancer game & related concepts.
Here is something that might be shocking to you since you use "Starlancer" as a source for word meanings.
There is a nice website called "Wikipedia" - So I got the meaning for you from there.
I would also like to tell you that almost every piece of info in your new faction is referring to Muslims and Arabs.
If you cannot see this fact, then you are only deceiving yourself and others who probably are ignorant enough to believe it
I am not against your faction, by the way.
Do it and enjoy it and add a bit of religion, racism, classify groups by hated names, referrers to races, etc...
I don't care since the discovery moderation itself didn't care till now lol
