As I understand it correctly, Freighters should have escort or flying in organised groups with group fire and using /1 /2 fast messages (I blame my low typing speed that made sustain heavy HP loss). I don't see other ways to go.
Rewards look fine, but raiders are big problem, yes

Just to point out few things, yes raiders would be a bit problematic and I am sorry if someone didn't manage to write proper replies... However frustration from people that just didn't even care to reply and just kept trying to Cruise away made us a little trigger happy, because every additional word meant higher chance of our victim escaping, like it happend few times.
However pros we noticed were that Zoners started cooperating a little, found some good tactics, like jumping from Theta to Omega-3, suddenly capitals were protecting convoys. And that's how these events are supposed to look like, escorts and traders... Not just power traders that believe they are safe because there are no bad guys.
This time I've taken the role of "Bad" guy and I am glad I did.
Fun fact, I like how Unity mentioned this is the worst event, however he has been doing it and trading angrily since the beginning. So it's not bad, just probably someone was mad because he got caught.
Nice concept, and the "confusion" the setup has caused is actually quite cool. Got a feeling the Unlawful side will lack incentive again but seems there's a good start at least, and the possibility of inRP delaying the construction of the Docking Ring might make it more interesting for some people. We'll see how it goes from here.
This is a story event covering the efforts of Zoners to rebuild Gran Canaria Docking Ring and community participation will influence the in-canon conclusion of the Ring's construction arc.
Out of curiosity, are there going to be any solid numbers on what means what? As in, how much needs to be shipped in to achieve a minimum goal? Is this going to run through new years into January? And, can any transport buy the event commodity so freighters can unload at the planet?
Also just a comment on the event structure here in general, I think letting the outcome of this be up in the air is a good idea. It used to be the best part of this place to know there is something tangible to do online. It may seem like 'camping' but when there is a real issue, it's fun to get out there and put all your effort into it. The Zoners should see it the same way, it may take a while but at least there is also a fair chance to progress. My major point on that is, even if the Zoners don't succeed, there is the opportunity to keep it going by leaving it open ended. Meaning, give some assurance they can try again and losing is never guaranteed forever on either side.
This is why I pushed letting factions earn events (somehow, doesn't matter how, but maybe something that generates trade?) so if the Zoners fail, they know they can definitely work to try again in a reasonable time of a few months, depending on how hard and fast they work. And in those cases, each time, the other factions have something to do. I think if you all made a few spots like this around the server, it would ensure there's always something fresh to jump into. Since the Zoners have a spot, maybe there could also (eventually) be a lawful situation similar, and an unlawful one.
I still feel this world would be even more alive (and make better use of the player base) if more life was allowed of it. I still can't believe OF's can't earn an event through in-game activity to try to actually do stuff, within some kind of acceptable margin. There could be a few different kinds of earnable events, like building a docking ring/mooring fixture, RP supply event, RP story event, Siege event, etc. Just being able to work on these goals changes the flow of the game on the long term and would help give all factions something real to do at any given time (a reason to operate around). To me there's still a "lid" on factions, that if taken off, would really keep this place feeling fresh and ongoing indefinitely.
Judging by text, its rather "A team hauled more than B, A team wins", no minimum requirement. The text itself saying the event will last until 6th of December, read it carefully

What teams? I thought unlawfuls were trying to stop Zoners from getting through in general. In that case, forget it.
Team A = Zoners, Team B = unlawfuls. It's a metaphorical comparison that underlies 98% of what happens on the server, and you may have taken this into account when forming your siege proposals and other texts
