The Zoner Defense Fleet was formed in 829 A.S. in order to protect Zoner interests throughout Sirius space. Their core tenant is to ensure that No Fire Zone's are adhered to and Zoner lives and wellbeing's are protected by those who would seek to do them harm.
Generally neutral to most groups within Sirius, they are suspicious and cautious of all Bretonian factions as well as the Core for their previous unsolicited attacks against the Zoner nation at large. While not outright hostile with these groups, they treat them with an air of caution lest they resort to their tried and true intentions by attacking Zoners again, either through physical or slanderous means.
At present, they are stationed out of Freeport 14 in Inverness but can be seen anywhere a Freeport is located, watching over the defensive perimeter, or escorting Zoners on their trade routes, preventing pirates or others who would seek their demise.
NFZ's (No-Fire-Zone's) will be adhered to by all other pilots, including our own.These encircle all Zoner outposts, stations, and planets.
The NFZ is an area in which no offensive actions against any vessel is allowed. This includes attempts at piracy/taxation, the use of weapons (Guns, missiles, mines, cruise disruptors), intentional ramming and the malicious redirection of weapons fire. Acts of piracy within the No-Fire-Zone are also prohibited. (Exception Zoner security assets)
Article 1:Combat or attempts to induce others to combat of any kind within the NFZ is prohibited as it endangers the station.
Article 2:Vessels fulfilling a bounty posted by a Zoner faction are classed as Zoner Security assets (With regards to sub-section two) for the duration of their combat with the bountied party. Engaging of vessels other than the bountied party, other than in self defense or in direct pursuit of the bountied party will result in the immediate revocation of this privilege for the duration of combat and the vessel will be treated as a normal vessel subject to all penalties associated with breaking the NFZ.
Article 3:If anyone violates the NFZ law, they will be subject to their ship being destroyed, impounded, and the offending party either arrested and held by Zoner officials, or fined credits for the offense. If this is a pattern with the offending party, they may lose all access to Zoner bases and stations for any length of time that ZDF forces deem fit.
Article 4:If not exempted by Article 2, and the aggressor(s) replace their weapons on hold, they will cease being fired on by Zoner Security Assets and will be directed to immediately depart the NFZ to continue their altercation or depart the area. Failure to adhere to Zoner Security Assets may result in longer term revocation of docking rights on Zoner outposts, stations, or planets.
Use of Zoner stations to base off of for attacks against any group is prohibited.
No non-zoner capital class vessel shall remain within the NFZ of any given Freeport or Zoner outpost, station, or planet unless assisting ZDF approved vessels or the vessel in question is granted temporary permission by on-duty ZDF approved vessel. Capital class vessels that are asked to leave the NFZ shall do so immediately or face the full ramifications of violating Zoner laws.
Article 1:Capital class vessels include Destroyer, Cruiser, Battlecruiser, Carrier, Battleship and Dreadnought class vessels. Not included in this definition are Gunboat and Gunship class vessels and below.
A ship that runs to the Zoner outpost, station, or planet under fire and docks is as guilty as the pursuer for bringing the fight to the base. The person chased will be fined or in extreme circumstances denied docking rights based on the severity of the offense and the vessels used in the altercation as well as the pursuer. Pursuing a ship into the NFZ for the purpose of combat or bounty collection is prohibited, unless otherwise noted below.
Article 1:Any zoner vessel that initiates hostilities and then attempts to run to the NFZ for cover shall be held in contempt and will be treated as any other pilot.
Article 2:Zoner vessels that enter combat not of their own accord shall not bring said conflict towards a Zoner station, and if attempts are made to enter the NFZ while in combat will not be exempt.
No base or other installation may be built within 15k of any Zoner claimed space without expressed approval from members of the administrators of those stations(Ex. Freeport 1 - OSI).
Those judged to be in violation of the law are subject to penalties that include, but are not limited to: fines, bounties, and in extreme cases destruction of the vessel and denial of docking rights at all Zoner stations Sirius-wide.
Any aggressive action towards Zoner pilots will be met with swift and relentless attack by ZDF forces. If it is found that the Zoner acted aggressively first, they will be dealt with in a swift manner.
A coalition of Zoners who banded together and have pledged to defend Zoner interests in the Edge Worlds and all places where Zoners consider home or travel through.
They protect any independent Zoner pilots or other Zoner factions from attack by parties that seek to do them harm.
They routinely patrol Freeport NFZ's (No Fire Zone's) throughout Sirius space to ensure that parties within them are abiding by Zoner law and keeping their weapons systems powered down. Any person found to be violating those laws feel the full might of the Zoner Fleet.
They work with House systems to ensure that any independent or tagged Zoners attacked while passing House space are protected by those House militaries or police. If the House system is unable to protect Zoner pilots passing through their space, the ZDF will dispatch escort vessels to ensure they arrive save to their destination.
Work with other Zoner factions or Zoner independents to escort vessels through Sirius space at no cost. We're all Zoners, let's all work together to get your cargo or vessel to it's destination in one piece.
The Zoner Defense Fleet is not:
A military that will attack anyone without provocation. That is why we are a Defense Fleet only.
An escort service for any non-Zoner pilot(s).
Mercenaries. We do not initiate attacks. We only react if our pilots or stations are threatened. Freeports are neutral space, and will remain as such.
Mediators. If you have a problem with an opposing faction or pilot, that is not our concern. If you are in a Freeport NFZ and are arguing with another pilot, we will not interject our opinions or attempt to mediate the disagreement. We will warn, however, that if it comes to powering up weapons systems, both parties will be fired upon by ZDF pilots and destroyed.
Operational Command is centered in Baffin. However, ZDF operates around any Freeport within the No Fire Zone of each. Vessel types range in size based upon certain criteria such as House laws in neighboring systems. In certain situations, requests may be made to those houses to up security around the Freeport(s) with larger vessels if required due to unrest.
An additional tag at the end of certain ships will designate it's ship class Colony Ship - SS# (Sky Ship)* Aquilon Carrier - A# (Aquilon) Fearless Destroyer/Cruiser - F# (Fearless) Gunboat and Below - No Tag
Colony Ships due to their size and difficulty in construction are no longer flown by the ZDF.
Ranks: Commander - Leader of the ZDF. Responsible for all all forces in Sirius Space and beyond. XO (Executive Officer) - Second in command of all ZDF forces. Functions as 2IC. Captain - Those who are promoted serve as testaments to the fierce resolve of the Zoner nation. Guardian - Those who have proven themselves capable in the face of overwhelming odds. Recruit - Fresh off the boat, and encouraged to flourish. Tending to our Recruits yields fruit.

The Zoner Defense Fleet is no longer in operation. Thanks to all who were apart of it at some point.
Although it is not the first attempt of making a Zoner Military, I wish you luck with it, however I want to understand how will you segregate Aoi, Faes and other Wilds undercover from non-infected? Do you have some magical tool or you just listed all factions under "Nomad" forum section? As far as I'm aware, |Aoi and -[Fae tags are not visible to all and if member of each using ship undercover (not under Wild ID and IFF but with tag), they have to be threaten like member of respectively NPC faction
Will adjust the Nomad portions. Been a bit since I've dealt with any nomads or the like. I'll additionally review their factions to get a better understanding. Thank you for the feedback!

Now I have been in this game longer than just about anyone here and remember how every attempt at a Zoner Defense Fleet has failed. Players here aren't stupid. They'll fight around a Freeport, "mistakenly" hit it, you will fire upon them, they will say "Oh, choosing sides" and that's where the problems begin.
Also, a lot of us are Admins of varying Freeports. OSI runs FP1. I RP the group for FP6. They may not go along with you.
Anyone shooting within the NFZ will be fired upon. Both sides. Not just one side. If both sides open fire, they both get attacked. If one person opens fire and the other one dodges not firing their weapons, then the offending party will get fired upon. Should specify that in the document above.
I appreciate your feedback though, Doc. As always. It's an honor to get some feedback from the Zoner man himself.

Sounds like fun to me! Zoners have completely ignored their freeports for the most part and NFZs have become a meme more or less, glad to swee someone taking a stand!

Rules have changed - they can now have dual ID
e.g. Aoi can have Liberty Navy ID - it's very confusing of course, you can just put down wild or infected, nomad controlled etc. without mentioning the tags
